Thanks everyone for the support! I am trying to get my butt in gear and get on track.
Dinner: RM was fish, coleslaw and 1/2 cup of part skim ricotta with Splenda, unsweetened Hersheys cocoa powder and slivered almonds YUM! It was so tasty because I made it and let it sit in the fridge while I ate my meal and when I was ready for it, it was nice and cold!
Tink -Yes, Mikey is VERY gentle with his bunnies. He loves them so much! He is so sweet, he always tells them especially at bedtime I LOVE YOU my little baby bunnies! Then he says Love you mommy bunny and Daddy bunny
He loves all animals. Which is a good thing because I do too!
Dreamy - Your menu looks so yummy! Your pizza especially!
Stephanie - Welcome Back!
Cindy - Is the jello fluff you eat jello with cream cheese?
mamagiff - Sounds like you are having great fun with the pool! Glad to hear that you are eating well and keeping up with your workouts!
Pam - How fun decorating in your girls room! I LOVE all of the adorable kid things out there! I painted some of my son's favorite characters on the wall in his room. He has Kipper, Tiger, Arnold the Pig and then Pig (from the show KIPPER that he loves) Oswald the Octopus and I have Blue's Clues drawn on the wall by the babies crib but haven't gotten that far because I got caught up in other things in the house! MUST get the Blue's Clues painted soon though.
theredhead What kind of bunny did you have? 7 weeks for the remodel and you survived so I will take comfort in that
Kate - Yes, that saying is so true! When I first read that in the CAD book I was like YUP that is so true!
The more I get caught up in taking care of everyone else's needs and forget about my own the bigger and bigger I get!
I know that if I don't get it together though my family won't have me around to take care of them! THAT to me is terrifying. I want to be able to see my kids grow up!
Speaking of kids - my baby fell asleep in his playpen and I need to get him into his crib upstairs so I will talk to you all tomorrow!

Monica, we had two Holland Lops, one after the other. The first was a little boy and he died suddenly at about age 4 1/2. My DD20 was so sad (she was about 7 at the time), she insisted that we go the very next day and get a new one. This one was a girl and she lived to be over 8 years old. We really loved those bunnies! I'll try to find a pic somewhere.

In the meantime, if you're interested in my kitchen redo, here's a link to a slideshow that gives some of the highlights. I think you can see some of the other pics if you click on them.

I exercised on my Wii for about an hour and a half tonight. I start by playing sports to warm up, mostly bowling and tennis. Then I go to the Wii Fit and try all kinds of things. It's so fun!

My eating has not been on point for three days, but it's mostly just been timing. I always keep my eating low carb, even if I'm not following the CAD or CALP rules. Hopefully, I'll get back in synch tomorrow.

I'm glad everybody's doing well!

2nd day of CAD

OK, I still need to go to the library or bookstore to get a book but did ok today. I actually had some acid thing going on though until I ate dinner. I guess I was too hungry. Maybe I need to eat 3 meals tomorrow and see what happens with that.

I drank an Atkins shake for lunch and then RM was Pork Tenderloin, green beans, small scoop of mashed potatoes, Diet Coke and 2 oreos. This feels like cheating big time. I am just used to Atkins.

Hey is it ok to drink the shakes? I really am not a breakfast eater and usually do a shake about 11:00 or so.

This is nice because I can eat what the family eats for dinner. Hope it works for me.

I am sure I will be able to jump in on the board when I get to know you ladies better.

Tink - Will this be your first pregnancy? I have 6 children but 2 since 40. I'm done!

Mikey'smom - I can't imagine remodeling my kitchen. I have no excuse for using paper plates except laziness! I am remodeling the bedroom and it is taking forever. I started right after the baby was born. (Bad idea). My hubby is a contractor and guess what he does not want to do when he gets home.....right, my bedroom! Sooooo. this is a long project. Hope yours is done soon.

Hi, it is day 2 for me too.Guess what I just did .........I went and ate the other smaller piece of pizza left on the tray,I kidded myself it was OK seen I had a huge salad before I did the 1/3:1/3:1/3 thing! I offered it to DD as she was going out the door to her pizza evening too....but it had my name written all over it - she didn't want it!
I might tell you it only took me a half hour to eat all my dinner!!!Just as well I HAVE stopped eating for the night
I guess ALL will be revealed in the a.m.

Good Morning - Looks like I'm the early bird today. Hanging at 151 today on the scale

So pleased it's Friday - looking forward to the weekend and not having to commute or get up until I want to - still never that late, but at least no alarm - except for Tinker!

I'll be back for personals and reading later - have a great CAD Friday all!

Kate I am glad that I could make you laugh Darling. Eat the Horse running backwards was one of my Mom's favorite sayings. That's because she was always on a diet. My Mother was a little bitty something. Wish I was like her...

Laurie - Love the new kitchen! Didn't you say that your daughter's are responsible for it?

I am going to try eating just once today.... That is one meal and my two cups of coffee with skim milks that I already had!

You girls are going to kill me when you hear this, but I had a Banana Split on the way home from the casinos last night late. I ate my 1 meal at 12:00, so I was hungry, but didn't want to eat a full meal and the ice cream was so yummy. To my surprise, I was only up .2lbs this morning. I figured I would be up a whopping 2 lbs. today... I'll take it...

Kate you can do the 1 meal. I didn't think that I ever could and Cindy talked me into once and now I love eating that way. My stomach is so much better eating just the 1 meal a day. Now I will probably have to add some CMs when Marvin and Margaret comes next weekend. It's just too hard to do 1 meal a day with company...

Yeah for vacation

This group has been really busy, and it seems everyone is doing great. We are on vacation in the Houston and Galveston area this week. BUt I am hanging in there and have not eaten anything that was not the CAD way. My RMs are pretty carb heavy. But it is still just the one meal so far. I have told myself I can have one CM a day if needed. I have not done that yet. Everyone have a great day!

Patty, your mention of the banana split is making me drool.

Good morning, everybody. I am sad and tired today...my TOM is due in about three days. I am always dejected in the few days before it comes. Good news on the weight front, though...I'm down another half pound. This morning I weighed in at 168.8. I should be dancing all around and I'm sure if TOM weren't coming, I would be.

Well, on to my day. No speech therapy or school today...Friday is my "free day"...and no freelancing today, either. I finished my week's work yesterday. So today I'm going to do tons of laundry.

Glendora Sweetie, take some special time today just for yourself. Pamper yourself and that will help you with the Blues. I was the World's worst with PMS in my day, so Honey I know where you are coming from. Take care Darlings, and send a prayer for you, for you too feel better and get rid of the PMS.

Quick Check In

I am down 2 lbs! Yea! I had a shake and the my RM for the last two days but felt kinda bad yesterday. Lots of stomach upset.

I lost pretty fast when I did Atkins 4 years ago. I was just wondering how CAD loss may compare. Has anyone switched over?

I feel like I may lose pretty fast because I think I have been eating like a horse! I have had some depression going on, probably hormones since giving birth... but it feels good to decide to get in control of my weight and do something about it.

Hope you ladies have a great day!

Oh ((Patty)) (sniffle) Such kind words, they meant the world to me.

I'm waiting on menopause, myself. We tend to start on the early side in my family and I'll be turning 41 next month. My sister is 42 and has just started. So maybe it's around the corner. Weird thing to wish for, but...

mom2, comparisons, hmmm...On Atkins, I lost very fast *for the first two weeks* and then it was basically sllllllllllllllllllllllow. With CAD, I lost more slowly from the beginning, but steadily. On Atkins you'll often see these dramatic initial drops and then people drop the plan because the loss comes to a halt. That probably isn't giving Atkins a fair shake, but I know the feeling, and I did the same thing.

But everyone is different. I love CAD more for the style of it, and the thought of it being for life, than for the speed of the weight loss. There are a lot of things about CAD to love. Not least of all the friends you make along the way, like the lovely people on this forum.

And then there's me who didn't lose anything on Atkins - 10 weeks of induction - guidance from Atkins staff to up my calories, try several things, but it never kicked in. I switched for several reasons (including social) to CAD and lost 3.5 pounds the first month - eating crazy, indulgent RM's in addition to my CM's. Everyone is different - and that's why I love my friends here - we all accept each other as knowing their bodies and what will work -even if it takes experimenting.

More later - hang in there Mel - I know that feeling well!

Glendora - are your kids going for speech therapy? I am a teacher and I am always interested in parents perspectives about Early Intervention and any kind of therapy. Sorry you are bummed out about TOM. And i must say you do NOT look 41 in your avatar! I was blown away when I read your age (and I mean that in a good way)! lol

Mom2 - I never tried Atkins, the only "diet" I have ever been on is CAD. I think any plan will work as long as you are consistent with it and it's one you can live with in the long run. GL!

Tink - yay Friday! My girls are in daycare today and I just came back from having coffee with two of my best friends. It's been a great day so far!

Patty - I bet that Sundae was delish! And only .2 pounds? Yay!

Steph - so glad you are back! I forgot you were on vacation and I was worried about ya! We missed you!

Cindy - it was me asking about the apple cider vinegar. I couldn't find Braggs so I bought another kind, but it didn't say Mother anywhere. Is that what I am supposed to look for? lol

Kate/eok - glad one meal is working for you both. That's what I do and I have found it works best for me. When I do add a CM snack or meal I tend to crave. The same thing happens to Cindy. Strange but true, so I will stick to one meal unless I am starving enough to eat a horse running backwards ( at Patty)!

Hi to anyone I missed, I will check back in later!

Pam

That's what I am here for Darling to Love You!!!

Baby, my Mother went through the change in her 30's so that it tough on me. The Dr. told me I was starting at 35. I had Hot Flashes and Mood Swings bad at that time. I just pray that it will be easy on you.

I have one even better for you. I am saving my RM for this evening. The daughter has her softball awards potluck tonight.
Our house is probably one of the few that has a soft-serve ice cream machine in the kitchen. (Long story) So we are taking soft serve machine and 2 gal on ice cream mix to the potluck. I have accumulated bananas, chocolate, caramel, butterscotch and maraschino cherries. To go with whatever chocolate desserts might be brought by other people.

I am planning on ice cream tonight, all right.....................................
