Good morning,

Linda, have a nice time with your family and friends.

Shelagh, you go girl, 1 lb. leads to another that leads to another.....and so on.

Pam, how exciting for you to be having a visit from your friend, enjoy yourself.

denese, welcome! It is great that you are feeling better and any trouble you had doesn't appear to be a health issue. I have only lost about 25 lbs. and it has all been on CALP. You can expect to lose weight much slower on this plan than you can on Atkins. I have discovered that I can not eat like most people and can not control my insulin levels when I try. I wish you luck finding the plan that works well for you.

Glendora, the weather was so much nicer yesterday we didn't even have to turn on the air conditioner. You are doing a terrific job working this plan, KUTGW!

KatNip, I am sorry you have difficulty with eggs but I am happy you were able to figure it out. Great job on the 1 lb. weight loss! Enjoy your dinner at your SILs house, I'm sure you will do fine.

Kate, I drink two cups of coffee every morning and it has no ill effects on me.

Cindy, nice to hear you have weather you can enjoy. You haven't mentioned any pain, which I am happy to hear, but I still hope you are able to get the swelling down soon.

I spent another full day outside again yesterday. I decided to hang up shade cloth around the enclosure because the misters were getting the food and three of the rabbits wet. I have one more side that needs to be covered in shade cloth and then DD19 and I will clean up some cages today.

I can really feel my age when I come in from doing outside chores. It seems like after I get cleaned up and sit down I can barely move or even get up. I am happy to say that even though my body is sore all night long, I tend to wake up the next morning feeling like I can do it all over again and usually do.

DD19 brought home Milo, a Snowshoe Siamese cat, from work several weeks ago. The previous owner of Milo signed him over to the vets office because they did not want to pay for the medicine he needed. Milo was stuck in a carrier for several weeks and needed a home so the girls talked DD19 into making him hers.

Milo acts just like a dog and may even be the twin of our dog Theo. He lets himself out of the broken screen door (to be replaced today) and meows when he is ready to come back in. He follows us when we go up to the barn and even comes when he is called.

Last night I could not find Milo before I went to bed so I left it up to DD19 to let him in when she came home. Apparently she did not know he was outside because this morning DH heard meowing and found him in one of the trees in our front yard. DH played rescue fireman and saved Milo by having to get a ladder in order to get him out of the tree. Milo is now safe until the next time he does something that requires human intervention.

I completed all 3 miles of WATP yesterday and today is Bowflex.

MY menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of coffee

CM: Pork chop and green beans w/vinaigrette

RM: Shrimp salad w/avocado, bacon bits, colby cheese, & ranch dressing, and an ice cream bar

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

Hi!
Well yesterday's rm was ribeye, huge salad with a ton of ranch, mug of ice cream 2 cans of Mt. Dew. I went from 110.5 to 111. Today I am eating a 1/2 of a watermelon! It is so hot here in Arizona you really only want cold juicy things to eat most of the summer. I'll lose on this. The day before yesterday I had watermelon only for my rm and alot of it and lost 3 pounds over night.

Pam, do you eat just on meal a day too?

Cindy, looks like you haven't lost your healthy appetite either!!!!! We girls stick together.

Good Morning All! Wow - I'm usually one of the early ones up but not today - I slept in a bit - well thanks to Tinker (the real one!) waking me up several times early this morning - he didn't want food or to go out -maybe he was hearing things or just having insulin issues with his diabetes. Of course now that I'm up, guess who is sound asleep snoring?

Denese - Just wanted to reply that I had a very similar thing with Atkins actually - so I'm glad to know it just wasn't me. I became very very weak and lethargic - I couldn't walk up stairs without my legs feeling like they were on fire. I was advised it might be electrolytes and added certain supplements but that's also about the time I found CAD because I was so fed up with not losing anything on induction after trying everything from upping calories to cutting out every possible food that causes allergies, etc. I'm glad I jumped over - my last few months have been slow losses, but I believe largely due to me taking vacations and days off for numerous parties - but I've always come back to CAD and dropped back down. Now that I'm back at my low weight of 153 - I'm staying clean and fairly balanced and heading back to the 140's!

I'll be back later - so thankful it's cooler here today. - Amy

I am going to join you guys again. Tried CAD last summer, and did not stick with it.
Won't go into details, but having a lousy weight year here, and finally decided I have to commit to something, and just trying to maintain LC, without a real plan, allows for way too much cheating, and bad results.

I will be lurking, and reading up on things again. Have read the book, but it has been awhile, so will research as I go, and try not to ask too many foolish questions.

Cowboxen---your photo looks terrific. Congrats on your success.

Hi Oriana!! How's it going with your studies? I sure wish I lived in Arizonz again, I did for a few months and then ended up in Blythe, Ca. stayed there for two years and then back here....for good. I loved the weather there, miss it. Yup, I'm a big piggy eater, thats why this plan fits me so well, I can eat a balanced meal one day and the next day have nothing but junk...if I want. Now today will be pretty balanced, I have my omlet...it's huge, but I'm thinking I won't have the popcorn after all, it's too much food. I love watermelon too, but it's hard to find a good tasting one here. Have a good day hun!!

Hey Karen, long time no see, I'm glad your back!! How's the horses doing? I remember you were riding in shows or something? Anyway, good to see ya, ask any questions you got and thanks for the compliments, hun!! I had a good ride (journey)...

Yea, I got outside and I'm going again....

Kate - I still drink coffee with milk, or cream and sometimes I even have it with sugar when I run out of Splenda and it has not slowed me down. I am in maintenance though, so see how you do. If you are still losing to your satisfaction, then keep your coffees with low fat milk. I just couldn't and never did give em up!

Katnip - yay for you for losing and for figuring things out! I'm glad you were satisfied after your non-egg breakfast!

Glendora - the gals and I have a saying "weight gain is water weight, weight loss is actual fat"! Yes, I loves my McDonalds too! I don't go often as I don't want my kids to eat it that much, but every once in awhile we go! The girls get a cheeseburger to split and chocolate milk. I try to minimize the damage for them! lol

Patty - YAY! So glad to see you on here again! Stick with us, we will protect you!

Oriana - yes, I do one meal most days. The odd time if I am super hungry and can't ignore it I will have a string cheese with a Diet Pepsi or a hard boiled egg or something. Those instances are rare though, I can usually make it to just one RM at dinnertime. I read your RM or last night and it's similar to what I eat as well, minus the Mt. Dew. I don't drink much at my RM because I want to save room for food!

iakaren - don't worry about asking us questions. We are happy to help. We all have different stories and we do different things, which is great. You will have lot's of perspectives!

Denese - I am a runner and if I didn't have carbs I would not be able to do any form of exercise, so you having low energy on Atkins (which I have never done) makes sense. Best of luck on this program - it's great!

Amy - get all your sleep now! Once you have a baby, sleep goes right out the window! My girls are amazing sleepers (12-13 hours straight at night and a 2-hour nap during the day) but they are still up at 7:30 a.m even on weekends and holidays! Once they are teenagers I will get to sleep in I guess! lol

Cindy - funny - I was craving eggs today too and might have them for my RM but I am also feeling turkey burgers so we shall see! Also, I remember you saying that true hunger can be easily ignored but cravings can't. I found that out for myself today. I do one meal a day but I was starving today. I was about to eat a CM and then my dad called me. We chatted for an hour and when I got off I was no longer hungry!

Teri - I don't think that's an age thing! I am 33 and when I clean all day or even when we walk around at the zoo or something, I feel it the next day! Any movement that is outside of my regular routine makes me feel it the next day! lol

Laurie - we bought the Wii today but Wii fit is sold out everywhere! The stores are all getting new stock in but we will have to wait! Sigh. Do you find it is actually a serious form of exercise or is it just a bit of fun?

Wow, I wrote a lot but I try and get to everyone! I love reading your posts and I want to respond! I am just a chatter I guess!

I will post my RM later after I have eaten it.

Cindy Oh Darling, you have never said anything to hurt me. I must clear this up. I care so deeply for you and feel like we have truly bonded on here, as I have with all you girls. I haven't weighed lately but I am sure that I am close to 190 lbs. I ate everything to try to deal with the stress and now it is time for me to be good and stay on plan..

I want to say again Girls, thank you for all your support and I know that we can reach our goals together...

Pam, I'm glad you were able to get the Wii. The sports games are a lot of fun and you can certainly burn off some calories, especially with tennis and boxing. I'm a bit sore today from bowling so much! I'm so out of shape and not an exerciser to start with, so I'm starting pretty slowly with the Wii Fit. I tried the step aerobics for the first time last night and really got a kick out of it. I was a bit winded, and I'm sure I can work up to more challenging activities. I can't say for sure just how difficult it can get, but I can see that there are many levels of everything. I know that for me, it gets me off the couch (or computer chair) and actually MOVING! Your kids'll love it, too!

Patty, I'm so glad you reconsidered. STAY with us. I know it's discouraging to keep losing and regaining the same pounds (like ME!), but I also know that unless we take the steps, we'll never get to the destination. Hang in there.

Hoppinn, I LOVE bunnies! We have several as pets over the years, but right now we don't have one. We had to put our last one down. She was over eight years old and became crippled. I couldn't stand seeing her try to drag herself around. There seemed to be something wrong with her hind legs. We really have missed her. She was a sweetheart. However, I don't miss cleaning her cage. LOL! Here's a combo pic of when she was tiny and my DDalmost20 was about 6 or 7:

I had bacon and eggs for breakfast. I keep thinking about eating lunch, but nothing sounds good (except carbs or things with AS), so since it's already 2:00, I'm just going to wait and have a big dinner. I'm about to go shopping with DD24 and maybe we'll get something good out somewhere.

Have a great day, everybody!

I got my Brisket on to cook, a big potato salad made and will do baked beans later for my family. They will all be returning home I think Monday and then I am going to be serious about getting some weight off. I've just not really been in the mood to do that the last couple of weeks, but my will is coming back.

Kate you would better off with heavy cream, it has less carbs....actually you should only have 1 cup of coffee with cream a day, the rest black....I love coffee with cream but I have cut it out for 2 days now..I miss it...........Shelagh

Shelagh I am so very Happy for you. I can't wait to get back to the 1 meal a day again.. Have to take it slow though. I think that is why I was so lethargic last time is because I jumped right in, instead of taking my time...

Hi ladies,

Shelagh - congrats on day 2 of one meal. Did you make the low carb cake or do you buy it?

Patty - that is smart not to jump right in so you don't feel lethargic. When I first re-started CAD back in May I was adding a CM or at least a CM snack during the day and then I naturally moved to one RM meal because I wasn't hungry.

I think for those who do one meal, well at least for me, I can't eat as much at once because my stomach is smaller. I get full a lot faster on less food than I used to. So I will eat to really full because I love to eat!

RM tonight was: turkey burger with cheese, half a hot dog, bowl of mixed veg, cup of cherries, fudge cake and a pecan delight. Yum!

Have a great CAD day!

Pam

Hi all! I had a very good day, food-wise. I started with bacon and eggs for breakfast. I wasn't particularly hungry for lunch, so I delayed it. I ended up having a snack instead, just some cheddar cheese. I finally ate my RM around 7:30. It was just me here, and I couldn't think of any protein choices handy that were appealing, so I had a low carb protein shake instead. I make my own yummy concoction that I add virgin coconut oil to. Then I ate a whole can of green beans (my favorite veggie), 2 pieces of very low-carb toast, a few grapes, and 1 serving of dark chocolate. I was pleasantly full. Oh, and I drank water all day.

I'm headed for my Wii now!

Hi All -
Sounds like a busy day all around! It unexpectedly became a one RM day for me - a friend drove into town and called to go to lunch - since I hadn't eaten yet it became my RM and I haven't really wanted anything since - we had yummy sushi and it filled me up! Then we went to see WallE which was very sweet and amazing animation - have any of you seen it?

Well tomorrow needs to be a productive day since I played all day today

Hi there, everybody.

Patty, I'm brand-new but I saw all the great things you had to say in previous posts and I am VERY glad you're staying.

Today I had: CM - bacon and eggs; CM - egg salad w/lettuce and celery; RM - 2 cups raw broccoli with bleu cheese dip, deli turkey slices, 1.5 cupcakes and Diet Coke.

Hi Patty Here is what I did I did cms and very low carb rms for a little over a week until I felt That I could do only 1 rm...... BUT I am not going to be too rigid on myself. If I get hungry I will eat.. I dont mean tummy hungry, I mean sick hungry ,because that happens to everyone..
I want to do this forever!.. After lots of reading I learnt that it is not how much we eat but how often we eat that counts. The actual health benefits of eating less often is ammazing.. I feel terrific!

George Stella - Stella Style Community

This is a link to a great site with lots of low carb recipes. He also has cook books and dvds, I have the cookooks and the dvds are comming.. There are recipes on the site and great people... Patty you like to cook, if you could use the recipes and just eat the allowed foods you could try again and maybe not feel sick.....

If the link doesnt work type stella style into google and it will come right up...... I cant tell you how much this site has helped me.

Cindy , Pam I have done so much reading, I am crosseyed but 1 meal a day is sooooo HEALTHY... thanks foor the heads up

Good morning,

iakaren, welcome!

Patty, welcome back! I didn't think you could leave us and I am happy that you are back.

Laurie, thanks for sharing your adorable bunny photos with us. If I have time today, I will take a few and share them with you too.

Amy, both of my daughters went and saw WallE Friday night and said it was a good movie.

Shelagh, there is no way I can accuse you of talking too much when I usually fill up half a page with one post.

I went outside again yesterday and did some more work. All of the shade cloth is hung and I began cleaning some of the empty cages since we have some youngsters that will be moving into them within a couple of weeks.

Last year when we moved the rabbits to their new area/enclosure, we converted all of the stacking cages to hanging cages so DD19 did not have to clean trays anymore. It has worked out really well because DD19 gets to use a shovel to scoop the ground instead of removing and cleaning 47 trays.

I plan on heading outside again today because DD19 had a three day weekend and will be able to assist me with our maintenance.

I didn't get into the house until 6:30pm and I had to clean up as usual. After my shower, I sat down against my better judgment, because I knew I had to make me a salad to go with dinner. I was able to get up again but knew I did not want to do anything else for the rest of the evening.

DH and I will be getting our Bowflex workout completed this morning before I go out, because I know how I feel when I come in from outside, and will not want to do it then.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of coffee

CM: Omelet w/linguisa, mushrooms, & american cheese

RM: Salad w/ranch, chicken enchilada, green beans, and an ice cream bar

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.
