Good morning,

Thank you all for sharing your beautiful pictures.

It has been so hot here I had to deal with the rabbits yesterday. Rabbits can tolerate cold but the heat can kill them. We have forty seven cages of rabbits that are in 15' x 20' area. This area is in the shade but when the air is over 100 degrees, the shade does not help. I spent my entire day putting misters around their enclosure and when I finished it was 5 degrees cooler inside than it was on the outside.

DH and I completed our Bowflex workout last night and today is WATP.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of coffee

CM: Pork chop and green beans w/vinaigrette

RM: Salad w/ranch, fried hot dogs, green beans w/vinaigrette and an ice cream bar

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

WOE: CAD....had TT/BL 3/24/08 start Simeons 11/ 08
Start Date: 12/18/05...restart cad one meal a day. 3/07
Good morning girls!!

Kate, I have the Hellers new cookbook, and I would suggest getting it too, it has alot of good recipe's in it all under 4 carbs per serving! It's just for the cm meal. I would suggest this book for anybody, I like mine. Also, try to get the cad or calp book too,(there's not too much difference in the two books) it'll give you alot of ideas for breakfast, and just like Amy said, eat protein for breakfast, chicken, beef, hotdogs...tuna, shrimp, veggies that are on the approved list. Boy, I hope you can find some way to deal with this, I'm afraid your gonna give up before you get started. This is such a wonderful plan that I know you'll love it once you get on a routine. Good luck hun!!

I'm having a shake and popcorn for lunch, my popcorn is that kettle corn...yummm!! And my shake will be with fresh strawberries(frozen), and nuts, mango slices, drink/braggs.

Thats the plan so far anyway. If they have something fantastic for lunch, then I may decide to eat at work. I'm still bouncing around the same 3 pounds, still in the 40's but it's not moving much. Of course I'm not doing much to make it move either...I'm too comfy where I'm at right now!! Maybe I need this time to adjust to my new weight, then I'll get the rest off later..

It figures, it's so nice out early, I know it's because I'm at work....

Teri, oh I hope your rabbits will be o.k.! Maybe put a fan in there, just for air movement. I don't know too much about the heat, since we don't get that much around here! Have a good day!!

Shelagh, I've had months that were low weights too, don't get frustrated though, just keep going cause whats the other option??....going off plan?? This is what I kept telling myself to keep me going, so I hope you don't take that wrong, I'm just giving some thoughts that I had, that helped me in the past. And make your RM'S extra special, like having something that you've been craving, this keeps you excited about the plan and the meals. And the other thing is, you have to give your body time to adjust to the new plan, so your weight will bounce around until that happens, it's kinda frustrating, but it needs to happen, then it will be smooth sailing.

Amy... yea!!! Isn't that fun!! Now on to new numbers!!! I'm sure your gonna pass me up soon!!! I better get going too!! Have a good day, Amy!!

I'll be around today and will check in later....

Teri - I read a bit of your blog today. You are so positive and sound so happy! It's a great thing to read! I hope your rabbits are ok the poor things!

Amy - yahoo! Congrats on the siggy weight! That is big news! I pretty much maintain as you know, but last week after eating a burger, most of another hotdog, chips, appetizers and a huge piece of choc. fudge cake (not to mention the leftovers my kids leave on their plate) I was down 1.5 pounds. I was so full I thought i would explode! It's so weird, but maybe sometimes a big meal or more calories shakes things up! Who knows, but it's great! lol

Shelagh - did you give up coffee or just cream in your coffee? I can't drink it without cream. I have cream and splenda. The odd time if I forgot my splenda (when I was teaching) I'd even have sugar! I have to have sweet and cream or I can't drink the stuff! lol Good luck on eating one meal. I found it hard at first but after a week I wasn't hungry during the day. Strange.

Katnip - yeah, maybe non-traditional breakkie foods the odd time. What about steak and eggs? Or you could try the cauliflower pizza (I can post the recipe if you can't find it, it is a few pages back). I didn't create it, these ladies suggested it and it's good. I found it really filling too. Are there low-carb Heller friendly protein shakes you could have?

Cindy - I love kettle corn! I might have popcorn tonight! It's been ages. We are supposed to go to a b-day party but I think one of the girls isn't feleing well. She just isn't acting like herself. I will keep an eye on her!

RM last night was: McDonalds (so bad but soooo good)! I had nuggets and fries, chocolate shake and a bag of chocolate almonds. I actually couldn't finish the bag for once (I always do)!

Hi to e/e!

Pam

Hi Ladies -
So I've been fretting here at work trying to understand how the scale could be down but these jeans be so tight??! I just wore them last week (the new ones I bought at Kohl's before my NY trip) and they felt great! I'm laughing at myself because I just discovered that they're not the new ones - they are another old pair that I've been working my way into. I knew I could get them on and done up but that they weren't really comfortable yet so it's not like I should celebrate because they still aren't comfortable - but, at least I'm not swollen or bloated and uncomfortable in jeans that I know just fit me last week! So here I am on a day that I feel so good about the scale with a great big muffin top and feeling all uncomfortable at my desk. LOL!

Oooh Cindy - a new cookbook? I'm such a cookbook junkie! I'll have to take a look. Have you ever tried the "cola chicken" that folks over at the Stillman's board talk about? It sounds good to me so I may try to make some this weekend - I'll let you all know. I also want to try the cauliflower pizza sometime soon but I'm staying away from cheese right now since I don't seem to lose as fast on it - or maybe it's that I don't have very good portion control with it Maybe you do need to hang at this weight a little bit Cindy to get used to it but also for your body to adjust to it AND that major surgery - then it will all start to come off for the final little bit you have to go! Meanwhile I'll be giving you a run for it (but I am taller than you by a few inches)

Laurie - your labramutts are SO sweet! We have an all black lab in the office next to ours named Cole and he is just a love. I actually think I'd like to have one one day - although I've never really had a big dog -they've always been small - I loved my little yorkie and might like another one someday. Right now my diabetic Tinker is enough of a handful! I often "thank" my parents for my inheritance (Tink was my mom's)

Okay - back to work - only a couple of hours left now and then it's the weekend!

-Amy

Happy Friday!

Cindy - thanks for the tip re the cookbook. I am going to order it on Amazon today. I know this is going to work for me. I am reading CAD right now. When you said that it doesn't usually get too hot where you are, I looked to see where you are living (since it has been REALLY hot where I live). I see that you are in Washington - my DD17 has one more year of high school and she is hoping to go to University of Puget Sound. We visited the campus in April on a beautiful clear day - it was beautiful! Even though it was only about 60 degrees outside, there were kids playing on a slip-n-slide! I have an 18 year old brother (long story - I am 50) and he is starting at University of Washington this fall.

Two questions: For CM's, what about mayo for tuna? And what about salad dressings - can we have anything besides vinegar and oil?

Teri - I hope it cooled off for your rabbits.

What is WATP?

Have a really good weekend everyone!

Kate

p.s. Down two pounds this morning despite the ice cream fest two nights ago (I ate and ate and ate until I was way past full).

Shelagh- prayers being said! Eat a nice big salad first and drink your water - in fact have a big glass or two before you go - it will help!

Kate - WATP is Walk Away The Pounds -a great series of videos by Leslie Sansone that a lot of us enjoy. That's great about the loss! Isn't it amazing how this plan works? Now we just need to get you feeling steady throughout the day! Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember a small amount of mayo being okay on cm's - and in fact, I use it regularly - just had some chipotle mayo (one of my favorite things in life!) with my chicken breast! I keep chicken breast in the fridge almost all the time - I throw a few breasts into a baking pan with drizzled olive oil, salt & pepper, cover with foil and bake for 45-60mins at 350 and I have protein for chicken salad, shredded on top of salads, anything I can think of - and a nice substitute for tuna which I used to eat a lot of but stay away from now for the most part due to the mercury.

Wow - I'm rambling today, must be the early morning coffee It has been SO hot hasn't it Kate - thankful to see the fog here in Sausalito today!

Shelagh - where are you going for dinner? What I find when I am super hungry is I want to eat everything in sight and my eyes are bigger than my stomach. I think when you do one meal your stomach actually shrinks and you need less food. So eat slowly. It takes 20 min for your tummy to inform your brain that it is full. I try to pay attention to my body and stop when I am full, even though sometimes it is tempting to eat everything in sight! Good luck and enjoy your meal out!

Amy - too funny about your jeans! I had a muffin top for ages after the twins. Makes sense because I had a c-section. Since I started pilates it has gotten a lot smaller and it doesn't bother me anymore. I try and look at it as my badge of honour! Anyway, I had to laugh at the thought of you sitting with your muffin top waiting until you can get home to change! Nothing worse than clothes that are too tight! My bras get like that when it is super humid! It's like by boobies swell (and I am an "A" cup so you would think I'd like the swell)!

Laurie - I love your dogs name (Maddie - heh heh, that is one of my DD's names)! My screen name (or whatever you call it) is a combination of my daughters. EmandM for Emma and Madison. Pretty clever, huh? lolol!

Kate - congrats on the 2 pound loss! Isn't this WOE awesome? Who knew you could have an ice cream fest and lose weight! I don't have the book in front of me but from what I remember, the protein at your CM's should be no more than 2 grams of carbs and the dressings shouldn't have sugar in the first 4 ingredients. Your better off having full fat mayo than the fat free stuff (which tastes gross anyway, IMO). Maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong, but that is what I remember.

Yup, you can have mayo, not fat free stuff though. And you can have creamy dressings, I love ranch, myself!! I make my own though.

Shelagh, after a resturant meal, you will go up...I gained 10 pounds in Reno on just one meal a day!! I tried to eat as clean as possible, with the steak cooked in front of me and everything, but I still put alot of water weight on. I could feel it the very first night, my rings were so tight and the next morning my eyes were puffy masses!!! It the glutamates, they put them in everything....even salad greens...this keeps them green.....for long periods of time. Just don't get on the scales tomorrow...

I had my lunch and I ate what I brought. I'm full.

Hi Ladies,
Just a SUPER fast check in. My house is getting more and more a disaster zone from the remodel and I'm exhausted from down sizing and getting rid of stuff we no longer need. I'm getting a bit nervous about having no oven or kitchen sink soon and no microwave. I told hubby we will have to grill a lot.
Meals today were strange:
Breakfast: cold salmon, 3 raw broccoli florets and squirt of ranch
Lunch: Iced Coffee, Iced Tea, Iced Tea, Iced Tea (can you tell it was a liquid lunch) thirsty and not hungry plus too busy to stop.
Dinner: more cold salmon, 2 raw broccoli florets, 3 raw cauliflower florets, ice cream sandwich
I'll be back to post more individually to people (sorry for the quick non-personal post) kids are needing me again!

Hi. Can I jump in here? I've been reading this thread for two days now. I recognize some people here from another forum, so I'm using that same name so they can recognize me. (waving) Hi, Hoppin! And Oriana if she's still here.

I'm 41 years old and the mother of three. I was on CAD three years ago and lost 20 lbs. But I got pregnant and after that I somehow lost the plot. Since then I've bounced all around different plans and now feel I'm back to CAD/CALP for good. I just really have this problem with being hungry all the time otherwise.

So...nice to meet everybody!

Great CAD day for me today (despite the darn tight jeans I just finally ripped off!)
coffee w/cream
cm -chicken breast with chipote mayo
rm -applebees - spinach salad with shrimp, egg & bacon, one mozzarella stick (I know, not as clean as I intended this week), 1 piece of my friend's pecan crusted chicken from her salad, 2 pieces of dark chocolate - pleasantly full.

Busy weekend planned full of chores and projects!
Have a great on plan time everyone!

Hi, Tinkerlog... (waving) Thanks for the welcome. Your menu looks really good!

I forgot to post what I ate today, and I see a lot of people do that here, so:

CM: steak pieces, eggs and mushrooms (ohhhhhh, that was so good)
RM: iced decaf with a splash of vanilla extract and Splenda; LC cole slaw; cauliflower with a little salt; 1/2 c. egg salad w/lettuce; 1 small chicken drumstick; piece of chocolate cake

Patty, I'm sorry to see you go. I get just get back, and there you go. Hope I didn't run you off! LOL!

I had a very good day today. My food was good and I spent a lot of time with my Wii. I thinking bowling is my favorite sport and DD20 played quite a few games with me. Then in the evening, I started Wii Fit and played several balance games. They're so entertaining, and I'm improving. I also tried out the step aerobics. What fun! I "jogged" for three minutes (and thought I would die!). I hate jogging, but it was actually fun.

I pulled a muscle in my left rear and I bet it'll smart tomorrow, so I'll be careful.

Welcome, Glendora. I know you're going to do very well. You already know the drill.

Mikeysmommy, I feel your pain! If you've read past posts, you may have read about my kitchen makeover about a year and a half ago. It turned out wonderfully, but I was out of my kitchen for 7 weeks. I set up a card table in my room and cooked in the microwave and washed dishes in the bathtub! For the first two or three weeks, the refrigerator was still in the kichen and I had to send people in to get things for me. You see, the makeover was a surprise and I wasn't allowed to see it until it was done. All was engineered and paid for by my two wonderful daughters. My DH and Dad did the work with their help. They ended up moving the refrigerator into my living room, along with my dining table and chairs. It was sorta like camping out. But it was worth it! I hope yours turns out well and that you keep your sanity.

Hello everyone,

Cindy, thanks for the suggestion about the fan. We had two fans in the enclosure yesterday and the day before. The fans do not work very well because of the way the cages are set up, not to mention they are really cheap fans. It was no where near as hot today but if the temps go up again, we are ready.

Pam, the rabbits are going to be fine now that the misters are up. I really appreciate you reading my blog and the compliment was very kind, thanks.

Tink, who is this Amy person? Nice to see you! I read your description of how you felt in your pants and the visual enticed a giggle.

Kate, it did cool off for the rabbits today, thanks. It only got up to 82 degrees in their enclosure and it only hit about 87 degrees outside today. WATP is Walk Away the Pounds by Leslie Sansone. I purchased two DVDs but have only tried the 3 Mile Power Walk. It takes about 15 minutes/mile, and there are mile markers to let you know when you reach each mile. Mayo has to be a part of my plan since I eat it regularly. Way to go on the 2 lbs. KUTGW

Shelagh, I hope you did well at dinner tonight.

Tink, I hope you felt better after loosening your pants, you are too funny!

Patty, so sorry to hear you are leaving us, I wish you well!

Mikeysmommy, it must be difficult to remodel your kitchen with two little ones. I wish you good luck!

Shelagh, great job on your food choices and your dinner sounded delicious.

Glendora, nice to see you and welcome! I couldn't understand why I would be hungry a couple of hours after eating and it took CALP for me to understand. You will find that there are a lot of nice people on this group and everyone will welcome you with open arms, enjoy.

Laurie, I hope you are not in too much pain tomorrow.

I had to see how many posts came in today and since I was just sitting here, I thought I would say hi to everyone.

Talk to you all tomorrow, I'm sleepy!

Just a quick post before I head to bed....busy few days preparing for weekend houseguests. They arrived tonight and in bed now so I'm trying to catch up....

Patty, you will be missed...hope you will stop in now and then to let us know how you are doing...

Loved seeing all the pictures! Wish I had time to say something to everyone but it's way late and I need to be up early. We are having a family get together here for lunch and I've got things to do when I get up!

Nice to see the new people joining, too! This is such a great group of people! I'll be back in a couple of days when the guests are gone!
