Pam if you feel like you need the string cheese, by all means go ahead and have it. That will not hurt your WOE and it may keep you from eating something else.

I decided at 4:30 I am going to start my dinner. I am just way too hungry today. I plan on eating a lot, so that should keep me full tomorrow and decided on making the French Toast. I may have said that already..

Hi Patty! I am home now and DH is getting the steaks ready. I made it without the cheese! Woo hoo! Your French toast sounds amazing! Maybe I will have that tomorrow!

We had a crazy storm here. Thunder and lightning. My students were all scared poor things!

You enjoy that steak tonight. I ate lots of red meat when I did Atkins and lost weight to boot. I could eat a 16 oz. Rib Eye in one sitting..

WOE: CAD....had TT/BL 3/24/08 start Simeons 11/ 08
Start Date: 12/18/05...restart cad one meal a day. 3/07
Hi girls!! I'm sorry to be so late in here. I had a good time yesterday and din't win anything but, we ate a big ole dinner of ribeye, potato, corn on the cob, salad, fruit, bread....pie/ice cream...oh man was I full!

So I was up 2 pounds today. Oh well, I had a good time.

I took off my clothes last night to find a very dark spot under my breast incision and so I took a picture of it and sent it to my doc, haven't heard from him yet, so it's probably o.k., I think it's a stitch trying to come through. It did this a couple of weeks ago and then it went away after a couple of days....boy this recovery takes a long time, I'm 3 months out!! I see my doc this Friday anyway for pictures, so he'll see it then.

I'm at work and I've been busy with stuff.

I will check back later.

Cindy I was wondering about you.

I talked to Dawn the other day and it did take a lot longer for her to feel herself then I thought. She doesn't always discuss how she feels and the pain that she was in. She is a little trooper that girl...

I ate fruit with my meal and now I am starving. I just cannot tolerate fruit without it triggering my appetite. I may try eating the fruit first tomorrow night and see, if I do the same thing. I was hungry all day today and now I am hungry again...Bummer...

Hi ladies!

Cindy - I hope everything is ok. Recovery is a long process, but worth it!

Patty - I am full but not stuffed. I hope it carries me through until tomorrow! We have class parties/activities involving food all week, so my willpower will have to be at an all-time high! lol

RM: steak
corn on the cob with margarine (ran out of butter)
blueberries
2 pieces of low sugar candy
taste of toffee ice cream (the rest of one of my DD's)
2 graham crackers

I am trying to think back to the mentality I had before when I did one meal a day. I do remember loving it but there were some days that I was so hungry I would way overeat at my RM and I would eat really fast! But I still lost weight, and I don't think it was that way too often!

Pam

I can see I'm going to have to post often here just to keep my place!!!! Boy, there is a lot to read! We had steak, baked potato and salad for supper with shrimp cocktail for appetizer. My DH is a great cook and he knows I'm worn out from a big weekend and we have another one next weekend. My Dd is away on vacation to Ocean City, NJ with her best friend. So I have to do all the work myself. Today I defrosted 2 freezers, did lots of laundry and put several baskets away, 20 min on the eliptical plus various small jobs around the house and yard. We have a big garden but I cut down this year and told my 10 kids so start there own gardens. Some of them have but they still come home to get canned tomatoes and frozen sweet corn. I have 65 qts of tomatoes left from last year so I figured I could cut down a bit. I had to do the freezers today because my DH brought home a beef...the whole thing....that he had butchered. It takes almost one whole freezer. I'm enjoying reading your experiences. I've tried the one meal a day thing and can't do it. I didn't lose weight after doing it for 2 weeks. I am very interested in cutting way back on refined carbs as I feel so much better when I do.

Cindy, I was wondering why you had surgery? My GS broke his arm today and had to have surgery. He is almost 3 and jumped off of an end table and broke it just above the elbow. He is from Portland and we are in WI so I felt bad. Guess all is ok now but he had to be put clear under to pin it. boo hoo.

Wow, that was a lot of reading to catch up!

Hi ladies! I'm glad to see that everyone is doing well! Patty.. welcome back!!! Nice to see you!

Stephanie, I know what you mean about there being so much to do outside! It's been GORGEOUS here.

Cindy - look at you!! Wow! I hope that spot under your incision isn't anything serious.

Hi mousie and carol! Welcome - what a wonderful group of people we have here.

Tink - were we talking about the fruit flush? Sheesh I have a mind like a sieve these days... anyway what do you think?

I'm just passing through - I actually have semi-normal hours at work this week! 830p-midnight.
I am so excited... I get to sleep a whole night (I mean until it gets light outside!!) in bed with my husband! That hasn't happened in a long time! I hope I can get these hours again!

Hi Everyone! I've had a busier than busy few days and more to come this week. We are getting ready for our annual big picnic and birthday party for MIL. She's 75 this year so we invited extra people. If everyone shows up there will be about 50 people! We need to get the deck done enough so people can use the pool, do yard work, paint the house and do the usual cleaning and cooking. I'm worn out thinking about it.

Pam, I think you asked a few pages back what plan I'm doing.....I'm actually doing Atkins right now but have mostly done CAD in the past. I was just really stuck for a long time and needed to shake things up a bit. It's working ok for now. But since I had my gallbladder surgery, I haven't had much luck with weight loss. But I also think that recovery and then working back up to my regular workouts have me staying about the same for now.

Welcome to the new people....Once we get past the next week or so, I will have more time to get to know you!

I better go catch up on my emails before bed....

O.k., I'm at home now and have a moment before I go to bed...

Carol, I had a tummy tuck and a breast lift. I scheduled my surgery 5 months in advance and lost down to just about goal...I still have 20 some to go now, and the surgery was totally worth it. I will look better once the swelling has gone down. I have stayed the same weight after the surgery, for the last 3 months, I didn't want to push it after having major surgery, but now I'm ready to lose the last of it. I have still lost alot of inches during my 3 months, even without losing pounds, and I'm still swollen!! I can't imagine what it'll look like when I lose the last 20 AND the swelling goes down!! I can't wait!! This plan is soooo nice!!! I'm not even worried about gaining it back either, now thats victory to me, I have regained on all of the other diets I have tried in the past!!

Oops...didn't mean to babble so much....

My lunch was a pork steak,tortilla(2), pineapple(3 rings), blackberry pie, ice cream, candy bar, drink/braggs.

I'm off to bed, see you in the morning.

Goooooooood Mooooooooooooorning....

Woo-Hoo, I am down 3 lbs. in 2 days. Of course I know that most of that is water but hey, it shows a loss on the scale. Me starving yesterday was well worth it and I woke up starving today. Maybe I need to eat more in my RM... I ate until I was satisfied not really full or stuffed. I will be glad when my body adjusts to eating once a day. Anyway, I am very happy with my results so far.

The thing that really bothers me, is that when I get started eating this way, we have a bunch of company, so I may have to eat a couple of CMs a day while they are here. They will be coming in 11 days for at least a week, maybe more. Keep your fingers crossed that I won't fail during that time. My family loves to eat...

Good morning, all! I just got back from a 30 minute walk outside; I like to try to get it done early, before the heat of the day sets in.

Cindy, I hope it's nothing serious. Take care of yourself, friend!

Hi Tink! I'm glad you had a good time! And way to go on the loss!!! That's great! Welcome back!

Linda, your list is making me tired!! It sounds like your party is going to be a blast! Do you do all of the cooking or do you have a pot-luck? Enjoy yourself -- that's what it's all about! I love entertaining, especially in the summer!

Carol, I don't do one meal either. I've tried it, but I just get too hungry, plus I take a morning medication that needs to be taken with food. Good job on the loss you've had already! That's great!

Here are my meals for yesterday: Lunch (CM): 2 scrambled cheese eggs, Supper (RM): leftover grilled chicken, some pasta salad (although I ate mostly the meat/cheese/celery/cucumbers from it), a few corn chips, and a milk shake made with no sugar added ice cream and whole milk. I walked for 30 minutes yesterday. I was pleased to see the scale move for me to 202. I'm getting closer to my goal.

Yay, Patty!!! Keep up the good work!

Dana, it has been so nice out. How are your plants doing?

Pam, your RM sounded delicious! I haven't had corn on the cob for a long time! It's really getting to be pricey here, but I can't wait until the local farmers set up their stands and sell it.

Well, gotta run for now. See you all later, and stay on your plans....it feels good to be in control!

Summer afternoon - summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language. ~Henry James

Good morning,

I am home for a few days since my mom was released from the hospital yesterday.

I waited to do WATP and completed 3 miles just as soon as I got home. Tonight is Bowflex and I am actually looking forward to it.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of Coffee

CM: Pork chop and salad w/ranch, bacon bits, and colby cheese

RM: Shrimp salad w/ranch, bacon bits, cheddar cheese, colby cheese, and ice cream bar

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning back to you!!!

Patty, give yourself a break!! You just got back from vacation, so don't push yourself too hard. I think maybe you should eat alot more in your RM, if you want to stay at one meal. Then you can back down in portions, once you get in the groove. It's just the change that is making you hungry, your insulin levels are comming back down and your body thinks it needs to get them back up there, so you get hungry.....now this is just my thoughts... Are you drinking coffee more than once with milk...the extra milk may be doing it? One day at a time hun!! Enjoy your company.

Steph!! Oh so close!! Good for you.....I'm rooting for ya!! The doc's nurse called me back last night and he's not worried about it, he thinks it's a stitch comming through...and so do I. As of this morning it's alittle open, so I bet it's on it's way out!! Thank goodness, this get tiring after awhile.

I'm having 2 chicken legs and 1 thigh, tortilla(2), hot sauce, cookie, ice cream, grape juice/braggs.

I lost the 2 extra pounds, plus another (.2), so this is a new one for me, it's been 3 months bouncing back and forth. So I hope now I'll see a brand new number in the morning!! I'm also back on some anti-flamatories that really helps with the swelling, maybe that first pill last night helped already?! I take it twice a day, so lunch will be my next one...I'm suppose to take it with food, but it dosen't make me sick to take it on an empty tummy. I'll only take it for a week anyway, then take a break from it, it stops working after a few days.

Thats it for me for now,......way to go on all the losers in our family....keep up the great work!!

Cindy thanks so much... I sure needed the encouragement. I am thinking about eating a small piece of chicken, but then I am afraid that I will want to eat a CM every day, if I do that, so I am holding on... After I ate the fruit with my RM last night, triggered my appetite to no end. Anyway, I will make it and thanks...

Patty, I got up this am starving so I made a very small hamburger and coffee. My RM---- Steak
Spinach
Low carb cake I made on sunday
Coffee with cream

I have some steak left if I get hungry later.

I hope you do well but dont push yourself. Having a small piece of meat will help level your blood sugar so you dont get dizzy. I find that I get depressed and headachy without a small snack. Everyone does what works for them , I sure hope you do ok today.

I just said a short prayer that you feel well today.I added the rest of you guys to my prayer too.......Shelagh

Patty - you were weak and shaky before, I remember reading that (I am still reading the ole posts. I am on page 64 - lol)! I hope you feel better soon. I am doing well today, but I had a piece of string cheese because I was about to keel over! That's all I needed though and it didn't open up the eating floodgates, so it's all good!

Tink - Are you doing the fruit flush during your RM? Good luck, let me know how it goes!

Cindy - congrats on the weight loss!
