Cindy - way to go! That is what happened to me last week with my new shorts! They barely zipped when I tried them on (due to the high heat and humidity in Toronto that day) but the next day they were loose! Go figure! I love Victoria's Secret. I used to order from there all the time!

Tink - so sorry about your doggie! How is she doing?

Shelagh - I hope you are feeling better about everything. That MSG is crazy!

Imjoyful - tacos! Yum, your RM sounds delish!

Hoppin - great idea about the blog. I blog too but it is about my twin DD's. If anyone ever wants to check it out my addy is: A Tale of Two Twins

Barb - I too am sorry about your friend. My sympathies.

Yesterday was a crazy day and I had Wendys (again) for my RM:

chicken strips with honey mustard sauce (3 strips)
small fries
chocolate chunk cookie

Tonight should be: steak, corn on the cob and some kind of chocolate treat

Hi to anyone I missed!

Pam

Hi Everyone -
Just passing through quickly again because I was missing all of you! My dog is doing better - he's on 3 kinds of medications but it seems to have controlled the diarrhea now and he slept straight through last night thank goodness. He's here at work with me again - sleeping in his little "office" cubby (one of those pop up soft "crates"). I actually inherited him from my mom when she passed - and he's awful sweet but also a little cantakerous at times - he was a rescue and we're pretty sure he was abused when he was little. He has quirky mannerisms like barking at the bathroom door when anyone closes it! - He'll practically bodyslam it! Anyway, I'm glad he's on the mend - especially since I go away again tomorrow. Fortunately, I don't have any problem with leaving him - the lady he stays with loves him to pieces and will take good care of him.

I have been a little off with my eating - I think the stress of feeling scattered and not ready for my trip. I also think I'm in vacation mode since I know it starts again tommorrow. But then, I have nothing on the books once I get back so I'm going back to it full-force. By the way, I was 158 today - up .5 -not surprised at all after all the food I ate yesterday - 2 cms and a long RM and actually I guess it was 2 RMs because I had ice cream after my evening salmon and broccoli. It's okay though - I know it will come back off and I'm going to start some exercise too when I get back - it's time.

Okay - back to it for me - must get lots done before I leave work at noon tomorrow.

Sorry for not being more personal - so much on my mind! - Tink

Hi Everyone! I've only got a few minutes....had a good bike ride today, ordered birthday cake for MIL's birthday picnic we're having here next week, did a few other errands and now I need to do weights and do some grilling! It's never ending here!

I finally have a few pictures ready to post...

This is the guys bolting the posts in....

They got this far and then it rained...

We had a rainbow while they were setting up the camper!

And this is what's done so far...they need to get different
boards for the flooring because they didn't like the ones that
were delivered. They are going to return the bad stuff and get new.

Wow - looks like it's going to be VERY nice Linda! You live in a beautiful area - the kind of country I love!

I have to tell you something funny - until just the past couple of days, it didn't register that the number next to "(chip, chip, chip)" was NOT your weight!!! LOL!!! Last week I noticed it was over 300 and sort of thought "that's odd, I don't remember that being her weight? and she's been doing so well, and not mentioning gaining!" and then yesterday I noticed it was almost up to 400 suddenly and it dawned on me "silly - that's her MILES towards the 2000 miles of bike riding!!!" So I had a good laugh at myself!!

Well almost time to head home and pack for my Reno trip! Early day at work tomorrow and off on the drive at noon yay!

That is funny, Tink!

We sure do love where we live now! It's like a park! We never thought we'd live someplace like this, lived in the middle of our hometown for 28 years. DS found this place online and made me go look at it, pestered us to bid on it and we ended up getting it! It went so fast I thought my head would spin right off! It's the perfect place for us!

Well at least I was in good company

Another weird food day for me - or I should honestly say an off-plan day - I feel strong cravings - almost pms like, but not the right time for that so I can only say that I'm just in vacation mode - back in the straight and narrow on Monday. I'm considering doing a fruit flush - has anyone here ever done that?

I should maybe explain the "chip, chip, chip". Another poster on this site also does a lot of biking and every year we try to outdo each other. Last year he was ahead of me till I started doing the 50+ mile rides now and then. He said I just started chipping away at the miles! This year I don't think I'll be able to catch him because I got too far behind when I had my surgery. And he rides to work several times a week for 40 miles each time. But I like to think I will catch up later in the summer! He's already 300 miles ahead, though. I thought to add the chip, chip, chip in there to remind him I may catch up!

Cindy I had to laugh a little when I read what you wrote about the low-rise jeans.. seems like they're all that you can buy these days, and I have the same problem! I just wear longer shirts though because thongs are NOT for me!

Linda - oh my you live in a beautiful area. Your deck is going to be SO nice!

Haha Tink! It took me awhile to figure out that Linda was talking about miles not pounds!
It's funny you mentioned that about the fruit flush. I have been thinking about something like that, too. I feel like I need a good detox. It's 3 days, right? What do you know about it? Have a good time on your trip!

Pam - I switched my RM to wings last night (DH wanted wings instead) so I am making the taco salad and cauli-chip nachos today. I am really looking forward to it!

Barbara - keep your chin up... you're having a rough time right now! I'm sorry to hear about your friend's passing. Take care of yourself!

Hang in there, Shelagh.. you can do this! Babysteps.. just make one change at a time and pretty soon you'll see results. This is a plan that we can live with!

Hi to everybody.. gotta get back to work now. Back later!

Hi all!

Linda, your deck is going to be so nice (and big too)! And you live in such a pretty setting! Enjoy your summer!

I just got back from the grocery store -- I bought more eggplant and zucchini -- I've been so hungry for these two vegetables lately. I can't wait until my zucchini grow and I can pick them out of the garden vs. buying them. Last week they were $1.99/pound, but today, they were .99/pound, so I bought a few small ones. I've got a turkey breast in the crockpot, and I'll be making corn, mashed potatoes, and the oven-roasted eggplant and zucchini tonight too. I also bought more blueberries and strawberries, along with an angel food cake and Cool Whip for dessert tonight. I'm getting hungry just describing the meal! I was pleased with my weight this morning -- 203.5. My RM last night was: steak cutlets, onion and cucumber salad, oven roasted cauliflower and green beans, fresh blueberries, a mug of whole milk, a glob of peanut butter, and 1 Lindt white chocolate/cookies/cream ball (delicious!!).

It's sunny so far, but the weather this week has been cold and rainy! No pool action! I'm hoping to get into my garden today -- I've got a few more things to plant, and then there's weeding and adding supports to some plants. Plus, I've got to take my dog to the vet. Tink, how's your pooch doing? Enjoy your trip to Reno!!

Have a great day, all! See you after while...

Hi ladies,

I am chipping away (heh heh) at the old posts. Cindy just got back from Reno, Flower (I think) has switched to WW, Orianna lost more weight when adding 2 cm's (but I think now in the present she is back to one). And a bunch of you are raving about the cauliflower pizza. Can someone get me the recipe for that? I am NOT a chef, so I hope it's easy, as in easy enough for someone who doesn't even own a food processor! lol

RM tonight should be turkey burgers, some sort of veg and of course, a chocolatey treat! I am still eating the rest of the Atkins bars for my CM, as I have a few left in the box. I drink this with a Diet Pepsi, which i will wean myself off slowly but surely! lol It hasn't affected my weight (yet) so I guess I am lucky that way!

Oh, and I bought the Russell Stover's pecan delight that someone (can't remember - sorry) was raving about. I had one last night at my RM and they are good! I searched all over and then found them by fluke at a Shoppers Drugmart!

My report cards are done, and the last day of school is next Thursday. This is a great time of year because we get to coast until the last day. No marking as reports are done! Yahoo!

Hi everyone....

Pam, I'm glad you got into your shorts!!! It's fun when that happens!! I understand about the heat, it does make you swell. Did you have 2 sets of twins??!! Wow I couldn't imagine what that must be like! Funny how I remember everything you say about the old posts, just like it was yesterday!!

Tink...have fun in Reno!!

Linda, your deck is comming right along!! That will be nice...pool and all...you lucky bum!!

Dana, ya me too....no thongs for this gal...although I will try the bikini type panties and see if those work. I'm still going to wait until I lose alittle more before I wear the jeans, they fit, but they hit right above my scar area, where I'm the most swollen, and they don't feel comfy yet.

Steph, go...go...go...!!! Your almost there!!

Barb, I didn't know about your friend, I'm sorry he's gone. He is happy now!!

I'm down 2 whole pounds today.... 149....

My RM today was....(brace yourself)...SALAD!!, , chicken/bacon, sandwich, 1/2 cookie, 2 bites chocolate...then got called out for work, so I didn't eat as much today!! Ya, Steph, it is really hard to cut back once it gets up there, so I need to remember those baby steps....cut back slowly!! So today will be my first day backing off.
Yesterday I ended up with spagettii, bread, big bowl cereal, 3 big hunks.

Work is so much nicer, one doc went on vacation for 3 weeks, so it should be quieter around here. Still no sun!! And summer is almost over with!! I didn't do my bike last night, I got on it and did 3 minutes, I just couldn't get into it, so got off and curled up with movies all night. I also had a nap, so I was just worn out, I guess. Tonight I'll get back on and do my hour.

One more week and I go for my 3 month post op pictures at the doc's office... I wanted to be in the 30's when I did that, but oh well, can't change it now. Hopefully the swelling will be low enough on that day.

Thats it for now, I'll check in later. Have a good day, girls!!

Hello everyone,

I will try and get back later to read but I thought I would explain why I didn't post this morning.

I am sitting at my folks house using my sisters computer. I mentioned that my mom and grandma were staying at the Casino for a couple of days. I never got a call on Tuesday so I thought everything was alright. I finally called yesterday around noon and they had gone back to bed right after they had a cup of tea around 10am. Mom said the Casino was so cold the night before that she had the chills and had to go back to the room. Mom turned up the heat in the room and both her and my grandma fell asleep for the night. Mom said they were so groggy from the heat of the room that they both crawled back to bed.

I got a call around 2pm saying they were heading to the Casino to eat lunch and they would call me later. My next call came about 7pm with mom saying she was sick and needed to go to the hospital. My mom has been on oxygen for the last four years due to COPD and was unable to get her oxygen level past 74, (90s is normal) and her heart rate was 118. I headed out of my house not realizing she wanted to go to the hospital closest to her home, so I didn't grab any clothes, much less anything else. I left my car at the Casino and drove both my mom and grandma an hour and a half to the hospital that she wanted to go to.

When we arrived at the hospital, I placed mom in a wheelchair and took her directly to the emergency room. She was taken to the back immediately and the staff began working on her. She was experiencing chills and her body was aching all over. Her temperature was 101.9 when they took it the first time and within five minutes it was up to 103. The hospital began treating her as if she had pneumonia even though they were unable to find it on the x-ray.

My sister was an hour away at her other home so she left to join us at the hospital. We didn't know if mom was going to be admitted and one of us had to get our grandma home. I finally took my grandma home around 11:30pm and my sister stayed with our mom. My Mom sent my sister home around 2:30am to sleep since they both new she was going to be admitted.

My mom called this morning telling me what room she was in and she needed someone to bring her a few items when they came up. I told my mom that I would be sending my sister since I woke up with a stuffy nose and didn't know if I was coming down with a cold or if I was experiencing allergies.

My sister came by this morning with some groceries and I asked her if I could borrow her computer while she was at the hospital. She said it was in the car and since she had a little bit of work to do but I could do it for her. We went to her car and grabbed the scanner and computer and she showed me what she needed me to do.

I had the items my mother had requested all packed and ready to go so my sister grabbed the bag and headed to the hospital. I am hanging out with Grandma and taking care of whatever she needs me to.

I called DH and told him that I don't know when I would be home but he was going to have to come and get me when that time arrived. I have access to a shower, washing machine, and toothbrush so I should be fine for however long I need to be here.

My exercise program is going to have to put on hold since I don't have access to my Bowflex machine today and I don't expect anyone to bring my WATP DVD for me to use tomorrow. I plan on staying on plan and I will find something here or go to the grocery store to get something I can eat.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of Coffee

CM: Lemon pepper catfish and asparagus w/mayo

RM: Salad w/ranch, chicken enchilada, and green beans w/vinaigrette

Have a wonderful day!

Cindy - nope! Just the one set (I laugh as I type "just")! I have two girls and they turned 2 in March. They are a couple of characters I tell ya, but we have SO much fun! The other night at dinner, I stole a peice of chicken off one DD's plate and she came right up to my face (almost nose-to-nose) and said "mama, dat MY chicken, do you understand?" I laughed so hard I nearly peed, because that is what I say after I am talking firmly to them (e.g. now you need to be good girls when we get inside the mall or we will go home, do you understand?

LOL! Gotta go and pick them up now. Write more later!

I feel like a real big idiot complaining about not being able to get my exercises done.

My folks have a built in swimming pool in their back yard that I can use to exercise in.

Who needs Bowflex or WATP when I have a swimming pool to use!

Stephanie, here is the link. I hope it works.

BUT... my DH just called me and he wants us to go to Home Depot tonight to pick out the river pebbles for our landscaping that we are going to use to replace the mulch, so we have to go out for dinner. (oh boo!!!) So I'm putting the taco salad off for another night. I browned the ground beef yesterday, so I think I'm just going to freeze it in case we have another change of plans tomorrow!

I'm going to go fold laundry quickly so DS and I can go meet DH at the store in a bit. See y'all EARLY in the morning!

My grandma is asleep so I thought I would catch up on my reading since it has been a week since I have read about everyone.

It seems my life has been filled with drama lately and I appreciate the support you all have given me, thanks.

Cindy, it is great to hear you made it to the water park. Sorry you were unable to do much but I bet your body appreciated that decision. Your suit is darling and I love the design of the straps from the back. I hope you have recovered from your sunburn.

Tink, I hope you have a wonderful time in Reno, DH and I are planning on going in September.

Cindy, thank you for your kind words about being in the "groove". I am determined to make this WOE work for me regardless of what is going on in my life.

Stephanie, you continue to be an inspiration to me. I am anxious to share your excitement when you reach your new goal!

Tink, I am sorry to hear about your pooch. I hope the two of you are recovering nicely. I guess you have already left for your Reno trip. If you read this before you go, have a nice time. If you read this after you return, I hope you had a good time.

Shelagh, sorry to hear about your struggles, but it is great that you were able to get right back on plan.

Barbara, my condolences to you for losing your friend. I hope everything works out for you regarding your condo.

Shelagh, thank you for reading my blog. I have been pouring my heart and soul into it and neglecting everyone on my support groups. I decided to catch up with my reading and then if I have time, I will start writing again.

Pam, thank you for sharing the information about your blog. I will be checking it out as soon as I have time.

Linda, thank you for sharing your work in progress. The weekend will be here in a couple of days and I hope the wood is better so they can get your deck completed for you. It appears you live in a very lovely area.

Hi ladies - sad news on my end tonight too. My beloved grandad died He was a wonderful person, very funny and the last of my 4 grandparents, so I feel especially sad about the loss. He lived in South Africa alone, despite my dad's great efforts to get him to move closer to the family (who are in England and Canada). His heart was in South Africa, and it seems he died outside his house while taking out the garbage (heart attack maybe we will know later). His neighbour found him when she noticed his front door had been open for awhile. My poor dad is heartbroken, they were very close.

Pam, I run too. I walk alot now but have done 4 marathons and 1 triathalon for Breast Cancer this past year. I like to get 10-15 miles of walking in on the weekends. I have 4 children and teach kindergarten and right now I am working on my Master's of Education.
