Start Date: 12/18/05...restart cad one meal a day. 3/07
Hi girls....

Ahh, thanks for the compliments!! I will need to get the rest off, I can see that, but I'm in no hurry right now. I am up ANOTHER pound! Jee wizz... I am still swollen from the extra activity though, so I'm o.k. with it, it's not noticable, only to me!

Hi Steph....thank you hun, I am so happy that you are back down, and yes we do go up and down, but it does that on ALL diets, so no new thing there. Have a good day hun!!

Barb....thanks, it's great to see you, your doing so well AND your almost to goal!!! Don't worry about that gain, your not used to so many carbs, so it'a all water weight, as I'm sure you already know that...
Huh!! Another bathing suit picture?????Umm...maybe in another 10 pounds.......as I see these, I can see where I need more work done, or ....maybe another surgery??? Hmmm....let's see....maybe the arms...yup, I do beleive thats the spot...they are so hanging down and wrinkley...yuck! But that'll be next year, I'm in no hurry to be hurting again so soon...
Have a good day, Barb!!

Shelagh, at least you stayed the same, thats great, cause that means when you eat your regular meal today, you should have a loss tomorrow. Your doing it right, ya gotta try it all ways, til it works for ya!! Just keep working at it, hun...it will work!!

Dana, thanks hun!! Ya, I hate those sunburns, I always hold water...
I would love to have a pool too, have fun with it!!

I'm having angel hair spagettii, 2 slices bread/butter, pop corn(white cheddar), candy bites.

It's pretty busy here at work, I'll get back when I can....see ya.

Have a good day everyone......is Patty on vacation?? Have a good one if you are, hun!!

Shelagh, have you been to "Linda Sue's" website, she has all kinds of recipe's of every food....check it out! Sorry, I don't have one for cake, thats a hard one cause you can't use flour and the subs for flour just don't have the same texture or taste. But go see Linda's stuff, I'm sure she has one or two!!

Hi Everyone! It took me a while to catch up here! It's been a few days since I could sit down and read! We had a big crowd here over the weekend for deck building. Plus out of town guests - there were 8 adults and 4 kids that spent the night on Saturday. Most of them camped out in the driveway in 2 campers. All the guys got the deck as far along as they could but need to return some of the wood because it wasn't the best condition. So once that's done and we get new wood, we can finish it. It will be a little over a week before we can do that.

Teri, I'm so glad things turned out ok for you and your animals! That must have been really scary!

Cindy, you look absolutely fabulous!!! I love that suit!

Oraki, good to see you! How's WW going for you? I was wondering about you the other day!

Oriana, sounds like you'll be busy with school!

My weight has been the same since I had surgery but I've stayed on plan and I'm working out so it has to do something soon! I have had some water retention due to the humidity and heat here but now it's cooled off again so maybe it won't be long before it's all gone. I've been drinking what seems like gallons of water to flush it out and it's better than it was yesterday.

I better get going to do my weights and crunches. Got my bike ride this morning! And then I have to clean my fridge! See ya later!

Hi ladies,

Quick post about my RM. I will post later when the girls are in bed.

Turkey club (toasted), honey cruller, oatmeal cookie and Lindt chocolate. Oh, and a few raspberries that my kids didn't eat! Those of you with kids, do you pick off their plates too? I do! lol

Have a great one!

PS - those who take magnesium, how many do you take and do you take them all at once? My bottle says to take 1-3 per day. Do I take all 3 at my RM? What do you all do?

I take mine all at once just before bed or an hour before I eat, if it's for the bathroom issue's, you'll want to take them on an empty stomach, it won't hurt you. Sometimes I forget and I still don't have any problems going, but I try to keep them up. Also, you'll need to take as many as it takes to get you regular...so that means start out with 3 and go up til you feel it's good enough, if you get diarrea, then back down one pill at a time. You'll know once you get started on them. I wish I would of known about this when I was younger. I take 1500mg a day.

Good morning!

Barbara, I hate when that happens too, but rest assured, it will come back off! It's nice to see you -- how have you been, and how is your friend (Fred) doing? I hope all is well.

Cindy, I think you look wonderful -- you should be so proud of yourself!

Linda, please post pictures of your finished deck -- I bet it's going to look great! You have such a pretty setting.

Pam, I still sometimes "pick" off of my kids' plates, if it's just a bite of something that I want a taste of, not necessarilly the whole thing, and my kids are 16 and 13!! For instance, we were having hot dogs the other night, and I wanted a taste of the bun, so I ate the little bit of bun that my youngest didnt' eat.

Shelagh, I would look at Linda Sue's website too, for a low carb cake recipe. I believe I posted her link a while ago, but here it is again: Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home It is one of the nicest recipe sites for low carb!

I was pleased with the scale today -- I am back down to my signature weight. Boy, is the Chinese buffet worth it? It took me over a week to get back down to where I was before I ate there! Geez!! One tasty meal vs. over a week of losing what I've gained that I previously lost! Our vacation is coming up, so I'll be looking at the same situation again, but such is life!!

Here's my RM for last night: baked cubed steak, oven fried eggplant, oven fried zucchini, a small bit of creamy cucumber salad, several globs of peanut butter and a Fiber One bar, plus a mug of whole milk. I got a lot of exercise in -- my 30 minute walk, plus I moved 6 loads of firewood (that's a lot of work).

Gotta run for now -- be back later! Stay on your plans, friends!

Don't be so hard on yourself, Shelagh! As long as you are back on track, you will be ok. You may have a little bounce but maybe not....

Another busy day here, biking soon, then I have a lot of cooking ahead I want to get done. It's so much easier to stay on plan when food is ready!

I'll post a few progress pictures of the deck later today or tomorrow. It's going to be so nice once it's all done! Then we have to do the flowerbeds which are a disaster right now and paint the house. We primed it a few weeks ago but the weather has not been good for painting. And we want to get this done before our big family picnic on June 29th! I don't think we'll get it all done but we'll do as much as we can!

Some more of the water retention I've been having is gone! Now I'll be heading into PMS week and it will start over! Oh well, as long as I either maintain or lose and don't gain, I'll be ok!

Off to get my bike ride before it gets any windier!

Good morning,

I have been too busy to spend anytime reading but I hope to be able to see how everyone is doing soon.

My Mom and Grandma are heading my way today so I will be spending the afternoon/evening with them at the Casino. I believe they are staying two nights, so if that is the case, I will be going back again tomorrow.

I completed 3 miles of WATP yesterday. DH is working from home so I am trying to steal an hour away from his work so we can get our Bowflex workout done before I leave.

I hope everyone is doing well!

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of Coffee

CM: Pork chop and green beans w/vinaigrette

RM: Shrimp salad w/ranch, avocado, bacon bits, & colby cheese, and a slice of chocolate cake (ice cream would have been better)

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

Have a wonderful day!

It may not be as bad as you think, Shelagh! I have noticed that when I bounce, I usually lose a couple of lbs overnight the first day I'm back on my plan.

Linda, I can't wait to see the pictures of your deck.. you're so motivated!

Stephanie, isn't taking a week to lose what you gained unusual for you? The good thing is you lost it!

Teri, have a good time with your Mom and Grandma!

I'm completely messed up today.... DH installed some antivirus stuff on my work computer and all of a sudden, it wouldn't connect to the internet anymore! So he woke me up at midnight to tell me, and I had to get up and cancel my shift, then I was awake for a LONG time, then slept until 8:00! My computer is now in the shop; I should be able to get it this afternoon. So I'll be working at 3am tomorrow. I hope I can sleep tonight... I was a little peeved at DH but then I thought about how stupid it is for me to be mad at him because of that. Yes, I missed a shift, which means lost $$, but he was trying to help me by updating the antivirus. It wasn't his fault that the computer freaked out! I can't use my laptop for work, or I'd just transfer all the files here! Oh well, it's nothing but a thing!

Off to water my plants.. y'all have a good day!

Hi Everyone -
I didn't get back in yesterday - I've been dealing with a very sick pooch Somehow he's managed to get a nasty GI bacterial infection and he was up needing to go out every hour the past two nights - so I'm am sleep deprived! I am down to 157.5 this morning - although I needed a cm this morning - probably because of the stress and being exhausted. Now I'm having a bit of a carb heavy RM - I was feeling "munchy" so decided rather than stray, get what I was craving and have an early RM. After waking up myself with a migraine at 1:30 and not getting steady sleep after that either, I should have made it a sick day today (for both pooch & I!) but with leaving Thurs at noon for Reno I couldn't with good conscience. Ah well... I've survived worse

Take care all - have a great day!
-Tink

Hi everyone!! It's alot nicer today at work, patient load is back down to managable...

I'm still up in weight....151....I'm still swollen from the water works day!! I'll know better now, so I won't be doing anything to aggravate the swelling. I'm still trying to get my portions down too, thats turning out to be harder than I thought. I try to bring my own food, but then I'll add something that they are having that looks good!!
So today I'm having tuna sandwich's, tomato soup,(thats theirs), crackers, honey roasted peanuts, drink/braggs.

Thanks, Linda!! I'm waiting for deck pictures too, I know your gonna love to use it, I do mine!!

Shelagh, I don't know about that, I think it's o.k., I think they are just saying not with food. I mix mine with other vitamins too.

I'll be here today, so I'll check in later, girls....have a nice day!!!

Yup, Shelagh, it's those darn glutamates!! They'll put up tp 10 pounds on ya....it did me too, when I went to Reno, I stayed right on plan, but still gained! Don't fret to much, just let it go and forget it and keep going, or you'll end up going off plan for another day and then another and soon your off plan totaly....I know this one too!

Hi ladies!

My office computer is fixed and I am back at work.. I have to tell you, I'm really looking forward to being able to get off this overnight shift.

I have already decided what my RM is going to be tonight - taco salad and loaded up nachos.. (minus the beans) and I'm using Cleochatra's cauli-chips recipe from her blog. Trying to get more veggies in! It should be easier now that summer is here and the veggies are more available.

Hope everyone is well.. back to work now! Have a great day.

Good morning, all!

Sorry to hear that your dog is sick, Tink! I hope he's feeling better! What kind is he? And sorry to hear about your migraine -- I hear they can be debilitating. Get well! Reno sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun, so enjoy!

I took my pooch to the vet yesterday for his booster shots, and according to a chart in the vet's office, my dog is 50 years old! And I'd say he's not doing too bad for his age -- he's still got a lot of energy and spunk!

Cindy, I can sympathize with you about portion sizes -- it's not so easy to cut back, believe me!! You'll get there, though -- I know you will. We're all works in progress, right? Progress, not perfection. Sorry to hear that you're still swollen -- is it painful? Please take care of yourself!

Hang in there, Shelagh! I'm with you too, on restaurants!! I have gained just eating "legally" from a salad bar -- glutamates in the dressings, probably sugar in the ham, and MSG! It sucks, but give it time, and have faith! Dana, yes, it has taken me at least a week to knock off restaurant weight gain, believe it or not! My family and I will be on vacation soon, and I know I'll experience a gain from it. We just have to keep on keeping on!

I'll have to look for the cauli-chips on her blog, Dana -- they sound interesting!! I hope you get some needed rest!

Teri, have a good visit with your family!

Here's my RM for last night: baked chicken breast, big portions of baked eggplant and baked zucchini, cucumber and onion salad, a bowl of fresh blueberries, a mug of whole milk, a big glob of peanut butter, and a tiny bite of my daughter's candy bar, which coincidentally, I found incredibly sweet!! Prior to eating this way, I loved these things (peanut butter melt-a-ways), but I was amazed at how sickening sweet I found it to be last night! My weight went down again, but I'm not changing my stats until it stays for a few days! I am a see-sawer! I got my usual walk in yesterday and met my water quota too.

Have a great day, friends! See you all later!
