Wow - quiet day for us - the nice weather must have everyone outside - or super busy!

My RM today is a hodge podge of what's in the fridge since I go away for the weekend tomorrow to visit my best friend!

Cantaloupe, greek yogurt, protein shake I just ordered (Walker Diet - Capuccino - not sure I like it yet), piece of cheese, peach - a real mix up

Have a good day - wish I was outside instead of looking at it through my office window - although it is HOT out there and I'm in AC - till I get home

Hi girls.....I'm alot better today, I'm off work and went to the doc's this moring and got lots of things to help me relax....

I had a nice RM of.....BLT, 1 slice pizza, pineapple, doughnut, ice cream.

Tomorrow night I'm picking up my daughter here in town and we're heading to my other daughter's house, we'll spend the night and then head to wild waves....water park. It'll be an all day thing....thank goodness the weather will be good. I'll take all my swim suits and decide later which one I'll wear. I'll take my camera and will have pictures.

I'm glad everyone is doing good, I'm going to rest the rest of the eving tonight, I'm all swollen from the last two horrible days at work, it was too much for me.

Have a good week-end girls and I'll pop in when I can!!!

Hi!

Tink, that was an unusual RM, huh?(LOL) I've had some like that too-- sort of hodge-podge. Tonight I had the following: leftover meatloaf, salad with blue cheese dressing (homemade), an apple, 1/2 piece of chocolate chip zucchini cake, and several globs of no sugar added peanut butter.

You're right -- everyone must be busy. I know I haven't been posting as often as I'd like, but it's been so beautiful out, and I'm an outdoors person! Enjoy your weekend visiting your best friend!! That sounds like fun!

Cindy, yay -- you get to go to the water park!! That sounds like a lot of fun for you and your family! Enjoy it! Sorry to hear that it's been tough at work -- enjoy your R&R!

Gotta run for now! Stay on your plans, and see you all later...

Looks like it is PCOS

Hi ladies,

My doc called today and they found a cyst on my ovary. Nothing to be concerned about, I go back again for another ultrasound in 3 months. All my bloodwork came back normal, but my symptoms along with the cyst seem to indicate I have PCOS. I will go to the doc in a few weeks to discuss it more. I think going back on the pill will control most of my symptoms, and of course, I will continue with CAD to make sure I don't gain any weight! lol

RM: leftover spaghetti and oreo cake.

Stephanie - I said cheesecake yesterday, but it is 'just" a cake. Chocolate cake with an oreo cream icing and no, I didn't make it! I laughed at that question because as you get to know me more you will learn that I am NOT a good cook and/or baker! I would love to be, but I am just not domestic. I often wonder if it's because my mom passed away when I was 15 but got sick when I was 10, so although she was a great cook (who could k
knit and sew which I also cannot do) I never learned that stuff from her.

Cindy - Have a great time at the water park with your daughters! You will look GREAT in your swimsuit!

Tink - have a great trip! What are you and your best friend going to do?

Hi to e/e!

Pam

CM: Chicken salad w/ranch, bacon bits, & colby cheese

RM: Salad w/ranch, pork chop, green beans w/vinaigrette, and 3 almond toffee dark chocolate cookies

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

Good morning,

I spent 7-1/2 hours with my grandma yesterday and when I add the driving time of 3-1/2 hours, it was a long day. We spent an hour or so on the patio by the pool and enjoyed the weather before it became too warm. While we were in the back yard, the pool man came for his weekly visit and made sure it was in tip top shape for our visit on Father's Day.

I remembered to take my lunch with me because I didn't want to come home starving like I had done twice in the past. Grandma had a tough day the day before and was up early yesterday morning, so she started to get sleepy around 2pm in the afternoon. She was having a hard time keeping her eyes open so I told her to take a nap. Grandma could not leave me sitting there while she was napping without giving me something to do, so she gave me a couple of National Enquirers to read. She only napped for about 45 minutes but felt rested when she woke up.

My mom walked in the door around 4pm and said she probably won the boobie prize since she did so terrible in the tournament. I visited with the two of them, loaded my car and headed home around 5:30pm.

DH called and asked if I wanted to meet in town for dinner. Since I was an hour and a half away and didn't want him to have to wait in town for me, I suggested he stop at the store and bring something home that he could cook. He said he would wait for me and we could eat at the Japanese Restaurant, so I said okay.

I was about half way home when I got another call from DH, wanting to know how far away I was. He decided he didn't want to hang around town for another 45 minutes and went to the store to get dinner. I was so relieved to hear that we were not going to eat at the Japanese Restaurant since I knew that I could not balance my meal there.

When I got home I told DH that we could have Japanese food in the future, but we needed to bring it home, so I could add a salad and veggies to make it a balanced meal for me. He understood my need for balance so we agreed for the sake of my WOE, that we could do it my way.

Since I got home so late, still had to eat dinner and work out on the Bowflex, I still had more to do than I had time for. I stayed up late again to get everything done and since I am an early riser, I expect to fall asleep early tonight to catch up on some of my sleep.

I will be getting my WATP completed soon since it is warming up really fast this morning.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of Coffee

CM: Pork chop and green beans w/vinaigrette

RM: Salad w/caesar, rib eye steak, asparagus w/mayo, and an ice cream bar

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning Everyone!
155 today - hopefully it will continue on the descent, but I also know that the weekend will be potentially dangerous with some alcohol and off plan timing with eating. And then next weekend I go to Reno with the girls - so a little nervous about the upcoming 10 days - but it's all good! I will do my best to make good choices everywhere I can - and the friends I will be with are all supportive so it's not them, it's me

Pam - glad to hear the docs are taking good care of you - finding the things that need attention. Be well.

Teri - busy day! You are doing SO well on plan - I love looking at your menus - they inspire me.

Stephanie - I'm with you on being outside. If I could I'd live in the country and hang outside as much as possible tinkering in the garden, having some small farm animals (I love sheep for some reason!). It's a goal of mine for the future.

Cindy - FUN! Enjoy!

So off to my best friend's - we have lots of fun things planned - lunch by the beach at one of our favorite restaurant spots (for the location more than the food - but they do have a GREAT salad bar), meeting up with some friends for a bday dinner and celebration, some basic hanging out and catching up!

More on Monday - if not over the weekend - Tink

Hi

All is well here. I am Still reading old posts. I feel like I know these cadettes-lol---- I am doing one meal a day and it is getting easier... Is anyone doing that here?? Usually my RM is a lot of meat and a carb , today I did an all carb RM, Cindy used to do that so I thought I would give it a try. The scale is slowly going down and I mostly feel great.... Wish you all well...Shelagh

Hi girls....I'm packing and cooking chicken legs for tomorrow's lunch. I will be at my daughter's tonight, so I won't be back until sunday, unless I use my kids computer and they put up pictures for me>>> I'll talk them into it. We're usually so busy when we all get together, that we have no time for the computer, but I'll try..

Yes, Shelagh, I do, do an all carb meal now and in the past while losing, it never hurt nothing, in fact I felt it really helped with losing. Maybe the carb out and then fasting for the next 23 hours does the trick?? I'll never know, but I was all to happy to be able to eat like that and lose too..... in the past years, when I did low carb, I had a heck of a time losing, even on just meat and eggs!! Oh, I'd lose the first two weeks, then nothing after that, it's just not worth it....starving yourself and not lose!! Now we have the best of both worlds!!! Good going on freeing yourself, you'll lose, just give it time!!

Steph......oh! I used to make that zuccini chocolate cake when I was a young momma, I love that cake, espicially with cool whip on top!!

Bye girls....hope to see you with pictures tomorrow night!!

Hi Everyone! It's been a crazy week of bad weather and trying to get the deck building preparations done. We are going to be building it this weekend with the help of soon to be BIL and his extended family. They are all going to be spending the weekend here and working on it. We'll have a picnic on Sunday. And some of us will be painting the house! I just hope the storms stay away so we can get it all done.

Food has been on plan, I've had some good bike rides and I'm back to my full weights routine again. Weight has been staying the same right now but I think with all the changes this past month I'm doing ok.

Once things settle down here when the deck is done, I should be able to have more time in here!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Good afternoon,

I had a very stressful day yesterday due to a fire that broke out around 3pm, that was very close to my home. The fire was so close that I called both DD19 and DH home from work and I also called DD23 over to help load animals in case we needed to evacuate.

We live on a farm and have 2 horses, 6 goats, 47+ rabbits, 14 chickens, 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a guinea pig. I am thankful that only last year we decided to downsize the amount of animals we had. We sold 25 goats since last year and my daughter just recently sold one of her horses. Our sheep were relocated to an irrigated pasture since my feed bill was getting too high and my Dad was tired of mowing. My folks sold their farm to my sister and I when they moved into a track house several years ago. We have renters in the house but the barns and pasture are still being used by my Dad.

After DD19 got the horses loaded she made arrangements to find a place for them to stay if necessary. Once she knew where the horses were going, both of my daughters got the rabbit carriers out to load the rabbits into. Since they are show rabbits, we have accumulated enough carriers over the years to accommodate all of them. Some of the rabbits had babies last week so there was not enough room for the rabbits and their nest boxes to be placed in the carriers. Since all of our cages can be removed from where they are hanging, I told DD19 that we could move the nest boxes and rabbits into four of the cages that are divided into two holes, and we could take them that way.

DH got home and with the help of the generator, got the sprinklers on the roof going. I found out later that DH slipped and fell when he was on the roof and hurt his wrist.

Since we only have one truck and it was hooked up to the horse trailer, we were trying to figure out what we were going to do about the goats when one of the kids' friends showed up with his truck. We found a hitch and were ready to hook up the stock trailer to his truck if necessary.

The fire was in a canyon and was not accessible to fire trucks so they were fighting it by helicopters and airplanes. We live within a mile of a lake and the helicopters were using it to fill their buckets with water while the airplanes were using fire retardant. I heard on the scanner that the plan was to try and get the fire to the ridge where the firefighters were waiting to contain it.

The street that runs parallel to us and the one behind us were both evacuated so we knew we could be next. We had the horses loaded, the rabbits were ready to be loaded, and the friends truck was ready to hook up to the stock trailer. We continued to listen to the scanner, watch the airplanes, and kept an eye on where the fire was, by watching the smoke.

Around 7pm, we heard the fire was moving East and since we were North, we felt a bit of relief. I sent my DD23 and her fiance' home since we knew we could handle anything else that needed to be done if necessary. We continued to listen to the scanner, watch the airplanes, and smoke until 8pm, when I told DD19 I thought it would be okay to unload her horses into an area that they could be easily caught again if necessary. After unloading the horses she also decided to unload the rabbits so they could have access to water again. The trailer remained in place as well as all of the rabbit carriers just in case.

We were all getting hungry and decided we had better eat. By that time there was not much smoke, so we felt pretty confident we were safe. We prepared a quick dinner and finally ate around 9pm. I was really tired and had a headache, but could not go to bed right after I ate, so I had another late night again last night.

I slept in until 7:30am this morning and feel much better today. I have heard, but it has not been confirmed, that the fire was 100% contained this morning and there were no structures lost.

A friend of ours was heading into town when he heard about the fire. He came to our gate, saw where the fire was, and continued down the hill to the command post. While he was there he took some pictures that he is in the process of loading onto his website. You can see what he has loaded so far and if you check back later you will see more. The pictures that he took are at 2008 Electra Fire Photos | Keith Breazeal Video Productions.

Good afternoon,

Since Father's Day is tomorrow, we are planning on heading to my folks house to celebrate the occasion with my Dad. DD19 even exchanged days with a fellow employee so she could have the day off. DH, DD23, her fiance', DD19, DS, and I are all planning on going.

It is really scary to leave after yesterday, but DH said he will leave early to come home and watch the place for us.

I completed 3 miles of WATP before all the chaos yesterday and DH and I will be getting our Bowflex completed soon.

DH and I will be unhooking the horse trailer so we can go and get animal feed today. I will be eating out tonight and when I get home I will be making a cake to take with us tomorrow.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of Coffee

CM: Leftover ribeye steak and asparagus w/mayo

RM: Salad w/Italian, pork chop, green beans w/vinaigrette, corn on the cob, and 3 aspirin

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

WoW

WoW Terri what a day!! I am so glad that you had no damage. But how lucky you are to live in such a wonderful area with all the animals. We in the city can only dream about horses and rabbits. Just to touch and hug a horse, I am so envious!!
Your food looks fine too, I guess you sure needed that aspirin!!! lol
I am still doing fine, the weight is creaping off. One meal a day is a little hard and I have a small energy drop but otherwise I am fine. Actually I find that I am having some meat at night as I do get very physically hungry. I never crave and can pass up any kind of junk food.
Take care of yourslves everyone and I will Talk to you all later.....Shelagh

Good morning,

I am heading out of town this morning but wanted to post what I had eaten yesterday before I go.

I mentioned that DH hurt his wrist so we put our Bowflex workout off until today. We will either get it done before we go or this evening when we return.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of Coffee

CM: Leftover ribeye and asparagus w/mayo

RM: Seafood Salad w/artichoke hearts, avocado, cheese, lettuce, lobster, mushrooms, olives, red & green bell peppers, shrimp, tomatoes, & thousand island dressing, and a Tootsie Pop

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

Happy Father's Day!

Hi gals, I've started my Masters of Education! Wow! I have 5 classes in 4 weeks. It is the beginning of a 3 year cram session. I am still going strong and so glad for my one meal a day during this time. I don't have to pack a lunch or breakfast and can eat what I want after a stressful day. Today I am going to church with my family and celebrating Father's Day with my dear sweetheart and 4 children!

Wow, Teri, what a scare!! I'm glad it worked out.... Get some rest, hun!

Oriana, good for you!! Wow thats alot of book work, but you'll be so glad afterwards. What will your title be? Good luck hun and I agree, one meal really free's you up!~!

Shelagh, don't let yourself get weak, eat if it helps. It does sound like you need another meal in there, just keep that one simple and eat more at your RM! It's a journey, so you need to find out what will work best for you, so you can live worry free and have no cravings or hunger!! Thats the best part about this plan!!

I had a fun day yesterday, but I also found out I still can't do very much!! I went on 1 roller coaster ride and 10 mintues in the wave pool and I was hurting some and wiped out, so I sunbathed and got burnt!!
When I was in the wave pool, I had a wave that I kinda swam with and I instantly felt a small pull in my abs....so I got out and said....thats enough! I knew I would be really hurting today if I did any more. Thats o.k., I loved the way my swim suit looked on me and I did get a couple of pictures,....I took a funny one for you girls!! I'll try to get them posted tonight after work.
I need to know how to post them onto my computer, from a chip disc, and it now automaticly goes onto my kodak spot, but I don't want it to go there, so if I want it to go somewhere else..."say my computer" how do I go about that....

I can get them onto the kodak place, but I can't get them onto here when they are in there. I can e-mail them, I think, so maybe I should e-mail them to myself and then post them.....I'll try that and if you have any suggestions, let me know. Thanks girls.

I hope everyone is having a nice fathers day!! I have none left, but I still say hi to them on the other side!!

Work is somewhat busy still....can't wait til summer, it gets slow!

It's lunchtime....I'll come back later!!

Hi everyone!

Hoppinn - what an ordeal! Glad it's over! You rest up! Your RM sounds so good!

Orianna - do you teach now? I am a teacher (grade 5). Your masters will be well worth it!

Cindy - can't wait to see the pics. Glad you listened to your body and you still had fun (sorry about the burn though)! I am totally clueless when it comes to computer stuff so sorry, can't help you!

Shelagh - when I did CAD years ago I eventually got onto one meal a day and it was quite easy. I am not doing that now though, I too get hungry. I am also a runner and I have twin toddlers, so maybe that is why! lol I have a feeling I will gradually end up on one meal a day in a few weeks or months, which is what happened last time. It wasn't intentional, but I truly wasn't hungry! Do what works for you, there is no point being hungry and weak on this plan because you don't have to!

I am off to bathe the twins and then I need to get some groceries!

RM: Wendy's chicken strips, french fries and a really moist oatmeal cookie from Tim Hortons.

HAve a great night!

Pam

I can't beleive I did it...sorry there's so many, but the first one was a funny one that my grandaughter caught of me posing for fun...
This is all the time I had for picture taking, don't mind my hair, we were going swimming and I wasn't going to fix it, just to get wet!! I didn't get to try on my other swim suits, so maybe next time I put them on, I'll grab a picture. My arms so big still, so, ya, I need to lose some more.
Have a good night girls!

Double click on the picture and it will make it big.
This swim suit was too small last year!! Now it fits.
