Good morning,
Pam, DH and I workout together on the Bowflex three times a week. When I do WAPT, I do it alone. Cindy, your grandson is precious, nice family! Tink, I hope you are feeling better. DH and I completed our Bowflex workout last night and I am going to complete WATP before I leave this morning. I am heading out of town again today to visit my folks and grandma. My menu for yesterday included: CM: 2 cups of Coffee CM: Leftover rib eye and green beans w/vinaigrette RM: Salad w/ranch, linguisa sandwich on french bread w/cheese, mustard, and mayo, and green beans w/vinaigrette I took my chromium and drank plenty of water. Have a wonderful day! |

Good Morning -
Feeling a lot better this morning but still have a slight headache behind my eyes - hoping that will continue to fade away! And hopefully no weird "fog" after eating today either. However, scale was 157.5 this morning, I thought it was going to land on 158 (which would be great too) but both times I tried, it went 157.5. So my prayers for my vacation weight to come off quickly are being answered! A good lesson for me - getting back on track as soon as possible makes a difference. Of course not getting off track, or at least not too far, is even better .If I remember correctly, I was at 154.5 the day I was leaving - I had gone up a bit since I'd been eating out with friends. So my first goal is to get back to my low of 153 and next is to break into the 140's - that will feel really good! I think I will keep setting mini-goals for myself so that it doesn't feels so huge - I now see the value in that - I used to be black and white - straight for the big goal or nothing, but now I appreciate the small steps to see some progress - must be the wisdom of age ![]() Thanks for sharing my ride with me Ladies! Have a great day on your plan - more later - -Tink

Supplement question
Forgot to ask -
Could you each tell me what supplements/vitamins you're taking and why? And what benefits you've noticed from them, etc. I take so much stuff and I'm not sure that I need it all or if it's even the right stuff now that I'm not on Atkins so I want to do a little double check. Thanks - Tink ![]() |

Girls, so far today, I am doing great. It feels like the infection is gone. I was reading in my Home Remedy Book that Aspirin or Ibuprofen is good to help get rid of a bladder infection.
Well I gotta get and get some much needed housework done. Oh my, our work is never done... |

Shelagh, it is common at first to be weak when you first start LC. After your body adjusts to it, then the weakness goes away. If you need to, eat some more protein and maybe that will help.

Hey girls!!! Thank you, I am lucky to have good kids!!
Tink, wow that would really help me alot to get my pictures up for me. I had my son in law e-mail my befores, but they are sideways and I can't get them turned around?? I have to go looking for my progress pictures, I wasn't too good at taking many, but I have a few. The ones that Angela posted for me are now expired, so there aren't too many on the old threads. I need to get one taken now, I know we're going to a water park on the 14th, I'll get some in my new suit, my only thing is, which one do I wear??!! Thank you, hun, I love my cad family!!! I take....cla, GTF, vit.D, Magnesium, probotic. I know I should be taking a multi, but I feel fine and I get heartburn from those. I have been taking the cla for 2 years, I feel it really helped witht the inches in my waist, before my tummy tuck!Patty, I'm glad your over the infection, you caught it early, so thats good! I didn't know about the ibprofen thing, so I'll tuck that one under my hat!! Thanks! I'm always afraid of the dreaded bladder infection! Shelagh, don't be afraid of carbs in your RM!! It'll keep you from getting faint! I know that feeling well, whenever I went on low carb, I felt faint and weak and nausous in the begining, but with cad, you feel great, look at all the carbs I eat!! And I have ate this way the whole time, ya, I stalled at times, but I'll never really know if it was a true stall, since I always ended up losing, maybe took a few weeks, but in the end I lost an average of 5 pounds a month!! So just try it for a few weeks and see. ![]() I'm having a cereal day....bread, banana, doughnut. I'm up 1.5 pounds from my pig out yesterday... Hi, Steph, yea!!! on the pound...I post mine as soon as I see it!! But if it's too big of a loss, then I'll wait to see if my scale is playing around with me!! Your doing so great, your going to have a great summer!!![]() Hi Linda, you sure are a busy person, I feel like I'm lazy next to you!! Oh wait....I AM lazy!!!! ![]() Have a good day girls...I'm off today and will check in.... ![]()

Patty - Keep an eye on that - as we said, nothing to mess around with - I know you are, but sometimes even a "momma" needs some mothering
![]() Cindy - No problem with the pictures, I can definitely help - just let me know when you're ready. I've never done a PM through here but I'm pretty sure we can exchange email addresses through there so I don't have to post publically. On the CLA - I noticed when reading the old posts that you were taking a combo of cla/gla - what's gla? I can't seem to find out about it and is there a reason you don't take it anymore? I'm thinking of trying the CLA -lots of people have told me about it and have had good results. I've been reading old posts all day (slow at work today) - it's fun and reminds me that this IS a process - and the only way to get there is one step at a time. Cindy sure is proof! I'm at the point where you're at 193 or so... it's a lot to read! Just had a big RM lunch - ate till really full, but I know that will subside in the next couple of hours. I feel a tiny bit spacy again, but hopefully it will continue to get better as well. I had chicken breast with chipotle mayo, greek yogurt, a fresh peach and some fresh rasperries, a protein cookie bar, some ryvita crackers and dark chocolate. A lot in one meal -but not so much really if all I'm having today - we'll see, can always do a cm tonight if I need it - although it's my late day and probably won't be home till 8ish so not likely I'll eat more then. Have a good afternoon all - -Tink |

Thanks Tink, I'll sure let you know....may be awhile. I stopped taking the gla because it made me gassy and just the cla seemed to work. I have alot of gla's left and so I'll take one now and then.
I'm getting ready to do my bike. I will be working extra this week since we switched around week-ends, so I can have the 14th off. I'll have one day out of 7 off. I hope it goes quick. Man, I ate too much, cereal really fills me up! I'm baking chicken and Bill made a big pot of spagettii sauce, so I'm freezing portions for me! So I'm not sure what I'll have for lunch tomorrow, maybe alittle of both.O.k., I better get on my bike before I get lazy.... ![]() Last edited by coxbowen : 06-04-2008 at 04:42 PM. |

Hi all! How's everyone doing?
Tink, I don't take anything as far as multi-vitamins go, but I do take WalMart's brand of fiber con capsules. I take them everyday (I take 4 in the morning and 4 in the evening) to help keep me "regular," and I have to say that they work fine for me. I never looked into taking the supplements the Hellers suggested. Cindy, a water park sounds like a blast!! I would love to have some cereal, but I have a portion-control issue with it, so I'm not ready to eat it yet, but I do have a box of one of my favorites in the cupboard (Cracklin' Oat Bran - yum!) One of these days.... ![]() MommaPatty, I hope you feel better soon! UTI's are nothing to fool with. Take care of yourself. For tonight's RM, I had the following: grilled steak, tossed salad, a Gala apple, a snack sized pack of M & Ms, and 2 sugar free caramels. I walked for 30 minutes and got all of my water in too. I weighed 205.5 this morning. My girls are finished with school tomorrow! It's hard to believe that the school year has ended already, but I love having my girls home. We'll have to get our pool opened soon, as it's supposed to get hot this weekend. Linda, are you in yours yet? Lucille and Dana, how are your gardens growing? My veggies are coming up, and today I bought a few more packets of seeds (10 cents @ Walmart) to put in -- mainly zucchini, as some of my husband's coworkers are asking if we planted them this year. They are hoping for some! Take care, and I'll chat with you all later! Stay on your plans!

Hi Everyone!
I was happy that I lost 3 lbs. this week at my weigh in. I've been eating more protein at each meal and snack, have been exercising 30 min a day, and have been drinking a lot of water. These things have really been helping me! Stephanie - I wanted to stay hi! And that, I've had Cracklin Oat Bran and boy is it good!!! I remember in grade school my best friend Tracy used to bring it in a baggie in her lunch as a sort of snack/dessert. If it wasn't so pricey at the store, I would buy it again. Maybe I'll have to look for a sale! I can't wait to eat it again! I didn't know you had a pool, that's great!!! I hope you have a lot of fun with your girls in the pool over the summer! We have a pool here at the apartment complex we live at - and I just bought my dd and ds new bathing suits and we just got a new key to the pool. So, we're all set to go. But, it has been raining the last few days and we haven't been able to go yet. Thursday I'm real busy with my home business and household chores - and I bet you it will be hot and sunny. That's sometimes how it works out. Eventually, it will be nice and sunny and we'll be able to go . The nice thing is that our balcony overlooks the pool and it's such a beautiful view! Our window off the dining room overlooks some really beautiful green trees and a really nice pond! Some days if I'm a little stressed, I just gaze out the window and everything looks so beautiful and peaceful that I forget about my problems, lol!

Hi girls!
First of all.. Patty.. OMGosh... you look fabulous!!! Cindy - what cute kids they are! You are so blessed, friend! Shelagh - I had considered going back to strict low-carb to get the rest of this weight off, but I decided to stay with the CAD. The reason behind that was simple - when I get into ketosis I always lose at least 5 lbs of water. BUT.. those 5 lbs would come back right away when I added carbs back in; whether they were "good" carbs, or "bad" carbs.. Even knowing that those 5 lbs were only water, I would be devastated every time it happened. So I'm just gonna stay with what works. I know that I need to cut back on my RMs. Knowing and doing are 2 different things altogether, as I have been saying for months! But I'm on my way back down towards my signature weight; I'm not far off now. Stephanie, thanks for your encouragement. It really hasn't been that hard at all, other than giving in to the munchies from time to time. Yesterday I got really stressed out and thought about going outside but decided it just wasn't worth it! As for my garden, it's growing, but slowly! No tomatoes yet, of course, it just hasn't been sunny and warm enough for them to grow, I think. I have harvested some strawberries (YUM) and some mint (GREAT in iced tea) so far. My zucchini and peppers seem to be coming along nicely. I think this summer I'll have some good veggies! Flower, it is good to see you! I bet your view is nice. It's so peaceful to look out at nature! I have a nice view out my back windows, too. Lots and lots of trees. All this rain has made it really green in our backyard! I saw some squirrels outside running around yesterday; I never saw that when I lived in the "city"! I'd better get back to work. Enjoy your day!

You girls are just too sweet. I am headed for the Dr. this morning. I will have to be a walk-in so I hope I don't have to sit there all day. I was a lot better yesterday, but this morning I started burning again so I am off to the Dr. and I don't want it to turn into a Kidney Infection. I'll talk to you later...

Hi all!
Flower, it's nice to "see" you too! How have you been? Way to go on the weight loss -- good for you!! Keep up the great work, my friend! I'm so happy that your plan is working so well for you! Your view sounds so beautiful, and you're lucky to have a pool with no maintenance! I bet your kiddos just love it! My DH and I put the pool up last year (what a job), to replace the old one that we had (it had seen better days!), and he built a great deck too. I really am lucky to have him ~ ~! I'll post pictures when we get it open.Dana, keep up the good work -- I know that quitting smoking has to be so hard -- but it's worth it for your health! I wish you continued success with it. I'm glad to hear that your garden is thriving! Patty, I hope that you feel better real soon, and I'm glad that you're going to the doctor. I got to change my stats to 205 today, so the pesky prednisone pounds are gone, plus one. Unbelievable though, I don't think the poison ivy is completely gone yet -- there are still a few itchy patches left, but nothing like what I had! I'm extra careful now when I walk the dog; I'm on the lookout for the nasty vine! Speaking of walking, I finished my walk a little while ago (in between the raindrops).I hope you all are having a great day -- stay on your plans! Take care and peace.... |

Hi Eveyone! 155.5 this morning on the scale!!! So I am seeing the vacation weight slide right off! Couldn't be happier - now I will keep focused on getting into the 140's
![]() Shelagh - I read the old posts all day yesterday! It's fun isn't it? Since I've "known" Cindy since starting CAD a couple of months ago, it's been really neat to go back and follow her journey - really inspirational and encouraging for me. Glamazon's too - although she was here when I started, or maybe shortly before, I haven't seen her in awhile, maybe just taking a break - unless I missed something. Stephanie - Wow, still itchy! I hate that poison ivy stuff - so glad it's not a big deal out here in CA - but boy did we have to watch for it NY -and my god-daughter wound up with some on her arm when she broke her wrist and had to deal with having it under her cast poor thing. I'm just curious - now that you're below your initial weight goal are you setting a new one? I don't want to be presumptuous by assuming you are - but I can't help but notice you're so close to breaking 200 and if that's a goal, I want to cheer you on!!! Patty - Hope the doctor won't keep you waiting too long and you'll be on the mend quickly! Hang in there. ![]() Cindy - Where can I find out more about CLA and how much to take, etc.? Did you learn about it here on LCF? Dana, Teri, Flower and everyone else I'm forgetting (sorry! so many now!) - keep up the great work and enjoy your plan. Have a great day! -Tink |

Thanks girls...
It's a good thing I went to the Dr. He said I have a severe bladder infection. He said there were globs of pus and I was bleeding. No more fooling around with them. If I have anymore I will go to the Dr. immediately. I guess you have to have antibiotics to get rid of them, so ladies cranberry juice does not clear an infection. BBL... Oh, and I have to go back in Monday to see how I am doing. We are supposed to leave Tuesday for California. I will just have to see. |

Good morning,
Tink, I hope you continue to feel better. Great job getting back to where you were before you left for your vacation. Shelagh, it sounds like you are getting everything sorted out for yourself. I can understand the struggle of adding carbs when going from a program that doesn't allow them at all. I have strong beliefs in this WOE but also know it will take a bit longer to get the weight off than some others. KUTGW Stephanie, great job changing your stats again. How exciting to get your pool ready for the summer. Sorry to hear you are still suffering from the pain and itching of the poison ivy but at least you know it is getting better everyday. Flower, great job on the 3 lbs. you lost for the week, it sounds like your plan is working out for you. Patty, I am happy to hear you are going to the doctor. I hope you are given something to help you feel better soon. I changed my mind about going to my folks house yesterday since my Mom's Maj Jong game was cancelled. Since I just visited everyone on Friday and Saturday, I didn't feel like spending another 4 hours in the car yesterday. I completed my 3 miles of WATP yesterday and Bowflex is scheduled for today. My menu for yesterday included: CM: 2 cups of coffee CM: Rib eye and green beans w/vinaigrette RM: (Casino) Indian Taco w/grilled chicken, beans, bell peppers, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, & cheese, on Indian Fried Bread, and chocolate cake I took my chromium and drank plenty of water. |
