Hello girls!!!

I'm back!!! I have been trying to get back but have had password problems.

It's been since January that I last logged in - time sure does fly! I am back to CAD because as many of you have experienced nothing else seems to work. Lately I've been having cravings & binging which has caught up with me. I put on 5 lbs. just in the last 3 weeks (ugh)!
Today I decided to start CADding with 1 RM a day. I did drink decaf with creamer for breakfast.
My fear is when I get home - I seem to head straight to the fridge mainly for protein. I really want to stick with the 1 RM a day. Any suggestions?

Glad to be back on track....!

Hi all! Welcome back, Tink and Trish! Nice to see you! Tink, how was your trip? I hope you enjoyed yourself!

MommaPatty, I agree with Cindy -- take some time for yourself, and try to relax. I'm an emotional eater too.

Cindy, I hope you're feeling better -- ouch! Take it easy, my friend!

Here are my meals for the day: Lunch (CM): 3 scrambled cheese eggs
Supper (RM): salad, chicken breast, a small handful of Doritos, a few fresh strawberries, and some low-carb ice cream. I walked for 45 minutes today and met my water quota. I was up both yesterday and today (207), and that bothered me because I've been really active and trying not to go overboard, and I'm thinking my weight is up due to the prednisone. Any ideas? I've never had experience with taking it, prior to this darn poison ivy, so I don't know how a body reacts to it?? I have 3 more days of it (I'm tapering off) so I'll be glad when I'm done with it -- it (weight increase) has to be from it.

Gotta go for tonight. Take care, all, and enjoy your day tomorrow! See ya!

Hi Everyone! Busy day today again and will continue all week....but I've stayed on plan and I got a good bike ride in the park today.

Stephanie, the weight will come off! I had to take that last year when I had bronchitis but I gained 20 lbs with it. I've been working on getting that back off ever since...but I'm on track finally and it's coming off!

Good to see you back, Tink and Trish!

Good morning all! Thanks for the welcome! You all are so encouraging and are doing so great - KUTGW

Well, I went home yesterday and chowed down on some rotisserie chicken and thought for sure I'd stay the same or go up. Much to my surprise, I lost 2.4 lbs. So, my daily meals will consist of:

B: Coffee w/creamer
L: RM - side salad w/dressing, WW meal for now & some type of carb (whole wheat bread, pretzels or popcorn to get some fiber in.
D: Protein (if available)

I had a long walk (1 1/2 hours) which was great!

I hope you all have a great CAD/CALP/LC day & hope to see your writings later when I check in again.

Thanks again girls!

Hi Ladies -
Haven't caught up on reading at all yet, but want to get back in the habit of checking in regularly so I'm here to say "Good Morning!" Tom arrived so I'm crampy and crabby and not weighing in today intentionally.

Hope everyone is doing well - I'm still adjusting to being home - looking forward to the weekend starting tomorrow afternoon so I have time to unpack and get settled.

Have a good day!
- Tink

Good morning,

Tink, welcome home!

Trish, nice to meet you and welcome back!

When I heard from my Mom yesterday morning, they were going to check out of their room and head to the Casino. Grandma was feeling well enough for them to spend a few hours at the Casino before they headed home.

I am happy to say that DD19 cleaned all of her stuff out of the living room yesterday.

My sister and I are going to have a garage sale at her house on Saturday. I have loaded the trailer with a dresser, nightstand, and barstools and expect to add a few more items before I leave for her place tomorrow morning. We are using Friday to get everything set up for our early Saturday morning garage sale.

I completed my WATP power walk yesterday afternoon. It was the first time I did WATP in the afternoon and I much prefer getting it done in the morning before I eat anything. Tonight is Bowflex and I will get it done as soon as DH gets home from work today. My plan is to get my WATP completed before I go to my sisters tomorrow and if I get home too late on Saturday, I can get my Bowflex completed on Sunday.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of Coffee

CM: Pork chop & cauliflower

RM: Salad w/ranch, Ribeye steak, artichoke w/mayo, and 3 oz. Hershey's w/almonds

I took my chromium and drank my water.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Everyone! I'm deciding to do something a little different. Now, I will probably always go to my meetings and follow the points because I love them - I also try out eating different foods and different combinations of foods to see how I lose accordingly. Well before, I noticed that some of my meals were too high in carbs and others probably too high in protein. Most meals were too many carbs. So, I know I need more protein at each meal and snack - but wanted a more structured program. So, I did research and bought a new book and have decided I want to have nice balanced meals and snacks.

My meals will be mostly lean protein and veggies and a piece of fruit. I'm going to try to make sure the carbs I have at each meal is fruit - with an occasional piece of low carb bread, or a low carb wrap or oatmeal instead. This sounds great to me - because I really love fruit - but can't just go and eat fruit and veggies, that doesn't fill me up and that's when I found myself snacking too much. But, with plenty of fruits and veggies and adequate protein - it sounds great to me. I have always believed in low carb, I just didn't like the part where you can't have fruit for 2 weeks and then you can only have a small amount. I just love fruit too much to give it up. So, I'm going to try this out and see! I'm all stocked up on fresh fruits, veggies, lean proteins and lean dairy!

I also wanted to let you ladies know that last night I had chinese food and did not gain from it! I'll tell you why. I ordered the chicken and broccoli and told them NO MSG and NO SALT. I add my own salt substitute, which to me -tastes just like normal salt. I also had a little fried rice and told them NO SALT as well. After adding my own salt substitute it tasted just like it had a lot of salt in it - like they normally prepare it. I am happy to say I was able to enjoy the chicken and broccoli and fried rice - a good portion of it too -and today I have lost a pound! I've ordered chinese food in the past and just told them NO MSG and NO SALT - and was able to eat it and not gain from it! So, you may want to try this if you really like chinese food but always have a water weight gain from it like I did.

Stephanie - So sorry to hear the scale is up. You're right, it's probably from the medicine.

Teri - You've been very busy lately reorganizing bedrooms in your home and getting ready for a garage sale. I hope everything goes real smooth for ya and hope you make a lot of money!

Hi everyone!

How are ya'll today? I started my RM at 1:30 today. I had a huge salad and some soup. I need to have some protein and then I am done.

Stephanie the prednisone will definitely cause the weight gain. At least it's almost finished. Then it will come back off. Isn't poison ivy such a pain. I hope you get better real soon.

Tink glad you're back from your trip. I bet you had fun. The weight from vacation will come back off. I know it gets tiresome thinking about everything you put in your mouth.

Patty glad you decided to stick around. I enjoy your posts.

Cindy hope your tummy is better.

Teri thanks for posting the links to the old threads. Enjoy your garage sale.

Linda your pool looks like it is going to be a lot of fun.

PepPatty welcome back. Did you lose all the weight from your stats on CAD/CALP?

Flower Good luck with your new plan.

Drewsmimi enjoy camping!

Oriana did you enjoy your watermelon?

Hi Barb, EmandM, Jclairel,Goodtolaff,Dressagelover, Mikesmommy and everyone else! Have a great day! I'll BBL!

Hi Lucille! Thanks. No I did WW for awhile but was not able to really stick to eat and then remembered about CAD. However, I did do some diet pills but tried my best to stick to CAD which helped.
So, now I am back.
Have a great afternoon!

Hi Trish!! I'm glad your back and haven't forgotten us! If your just getting back on cad, maybe add extra protein, just til you get going again!! Good luck Trish!!

Steph, yup, prednisone will diffently make you gain ALOT!! So don't get dicouraged too much, it';; come right back off as soon as your done with the meds!!

I had a day of rest today, I did go out of town shopping, and had my favorite meal....chinese buffet. I ate my fill too!!
I'm still at 146.4, so tomorrow it should go up....no suprise there....
I've been on lots of valium and pain pills to get that tummy muscle tammed down!! I pulled it for sure. Tommorow will be a full day of rest, I'll just watch movies in my recliner.
I'm making spagettii tomorrow and have birthday cake to eat....a friend at work turned 50!! So I have two different kinds to eat, I'll add ice cream....yum, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

Thats about it for me, I'm still reading the past posts.....having fun with those, I find that I didn't really write down enough info so I can follow myself, thank goodness I kept my own records off line. Anyway, its fun.
I'll see you all tomorrow...good night!

Good morning to all & happy Friday!

I stayed the same today 163.2. The scary part of it is that it's the weekend and I can never seem to stick to it. Today we have plans for lunch at Pappadeaux and tomorrow we are going out to lunch again (lunch is my RM). I'm going to pray about it and try my best to focus on not overeating.

I will start my lunch by chosing a salad and go from there. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning girls!

Hi Trish ~ I think starting with a salad is a good idea. I like really like salad so I look forward to that as much as the meal. I'm not sure what kind of restaurant Pappadeaux's is but I think as long as you stay in your hour you will be okay. I have a harder time on the weekends too. I think praying about it is a good thing. I do it all the time. It works! I know you will do fine. Have a good time!

Hi Cindy ~ I hope your tummy muscles are doing better! Enjoy your day of rest. I gotta try to get to some of those old posts. A spaghetti RM is one of my favorites! Maybe I'll make that tonight! Let us know if you see any good movies.

Well I am down a pound today! Woo-Hoo! I only ate one meal and I was okay. I started getting hungry around 8pm or so and I thought of having a CM but ignored it and slept great and woke up this morning with energy. I am not sure if I am going to have a CM for lunch and then my dinner RM (so I am not hungry tonight) or just have my RM around 1 or 2 and ride it out tonight if I get munchie! We'll see, I think if I have a cup of tea and some 1/2 and 1/2 this morning and then my RM around 2 that I will be okay. I think I do like the one meal a day but still am going to take it one meal at a time.

Hope all of our CAD/CALP friends are doing well! Where is everyone else? I know it's a busy time of year, great time to be outside! I'll BBL! Have a good day! Stay on plan!!!!

Good morning,

I'm going out of town and don't expect to be back until tomorrow evening. If I get home at a decent hour, I will check in and if not I will check in on Sunday.

I have decided I have too much stuff to take with me so I am going to have my own garage sale in a few weeks. I already have some stuff at my sisters place so I will get that ready to sell instead of wasting gas by having to take the truck today.

DH and I completed our Bowflex workout last night and I will be getting my WATP power walk completed before I leave this morning.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of Coffee

CM: Leftover Rib Eye and green beans w/vinaigrette

RM: Salad w/ranch, Lobster tail w/butter, spinach, and Haagan Das ice cream

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Need your support and guidance

Hi All -
Still 162 this morning - had an okay food day yesterday, working towards getting back on plan but not there yet. Sort of had a cm of 2 eggs & cheese in the morning and then a huge salad, hummus, chips and some peanut butter chocolate malt balls for an "rm" lunch - nothing else in the afternoon or evening. This morning I've been on a bit of a discouraged roller coaster however and find myself wanting to snack and eat lots of "inappropriate" things.

I'm definitely noticing much different "tom" related cravings than I've had the past months either on CAD or general low carb/healthy eating as well. I'm also feeling sad being home and missing family on the east coast so it's all wrapped up with that too. Not much planned for the weekend except getting myself back in the swing and my house back in order, so I hope to be back to "normal" by next week.

I can't believe the scale went up 8 lbs in 12 days. I know I ate very differently while away, but that seems so extreme - I'd love to hear from any of you that have had similar experiences - how long should I expect it to take to come off? Does it come off the same rate as I usually lose or will my body let it go more easily? Any idea why it goes on so fast? Any insight will help soothe my discouragement...

I suppose 8 lbs wouldn't feel so terrible if I was at goal - but the fact that it put me right back to where I started my weight loss journey back in February has hit me harder than I realized it would.

Glad I have all of you who understand though -

Thanks
-Tink

Hi Tink ~ I really feel for you. I am sure a lot of it is water. I can and have gained 5 pounds overnight before. I know it was water weight though. I'm sorry you're sad and missing your family. That has got to be rough. It sounds like your day was good yesterday (eating wise). I know I have put back on 5 or 6 pounds since April and It sucks to be back where you just started from. Hey at least it's not higher and it will start going right back down soon. Hang in there and stay on plan. This is just a little bump in the road. I'm rootin' for ya!

Hi all!

Thanks for your input, ladies, about the prednisone. I've been see-sawing with a few pounds for the past few days, and it has to be from the medicine. Thankfully, though, I am finished with my last dose tomorrow! And believe me, it is discouraging, especially with all of the extra exercise I am getting and I've been eating relatively "clean" too. I don't mean to whine, but it gets annoying! I have faith, and I know it will come back off, and I'll be back on the losing train again. On that note, Tink, hang in there!! Believe me, I know how very discouraging it is!! Please don't beat yourself up -- this temporary gain will come back off. I have mentioned this several times, but I gained 7 pounds overnight at Thanksgiving -- yes OVERNIGHT!! And believe me, I could have really over-eaten, but I didn't, I just had "extra" carbs. I agree with Lucille -- it is probably mostly water weight. Did you eat out at restaurants a lot? If so, there is always a lot of added salt, sugar, MSG, preservatives, etc. in restaurant foods. Give yourself time, and get back on your plan, and I'm sure you'll see it come back off. But please don't give up, Tink. Keep your chin up -- the past is the past.

Hi there, Flower! It sounds like you have a good plan mapped out for yourself! You know your body best, and you know how you respond to various foods, and I'm sure you'll continue to succeed! Hey, good for you for not gaining on Chinese food! I'm always guaranteed a gain from that food, and I just love it, too! How have you been? I think we've all been busy and haven't posted like we'd like to (at least I haven't posted as much, but I think of you all everyday!) Take care of yourself, and good luck with your "tweaking," friend! You can do it!

Teri, good luck with your yard sale -- wish I could come!! Your RM sounded delicious (as usual)!

Good job on the loss, Lucille!! Keep it up, friend!

Oh, Cindy, I hope your belly feels better soon for you!! Rest and take care of yourself!

Hi there, Linda, MommaPatty, Trish, Barbara, Pam, and everyone else! If I don't get to post again, have a wonderful weekend!! My DD (16) will be going to the senior prom (she's a junior, but going with a boy who is a senior -- friends!) tonight, as well as the afterglow, which is an all-night, chaperoned outing at our local amusement park (the seniors have it to themselves for the evening) afterwards. I'm excited for her -- I know she's going to have a blast. I just hope the rains hold off for them!

See you, and stay on your plans!!

Hi! Well, I just got back from Pappadeux (a seafood restaurant). I started out with a garden salad & honey mustard dressing (my favorite)! Ordered the chargrilled catfish fillet which came with dirty rice (cajun style). I only ate half & not much of the rice and had some bread with butter & ice tea. I don't feel full but satisfied - oh & I had some peppermints for dessert. I was going to order dessert & try to share with my boss but she was sooo stuffed so I didn't get any.

I think overall I did pretty good and shall see if the scale tomorrow says the same thing. You all have a great weekend! Write you later!

Hi Everyone!

I'm so happy. When I got up this morning - I cleaned my whole home and got my daily laundry done too. It took me about 2 hours to get everything done - but I love the feeling of accomplishment! And now, I can enjoy the rest of my day with my kids, get my exercise done, get some reading done and really enjoy lunch and dinner with my kids - instead of having to worry about getting the housework and laundry done. I'm going to try to get all my daily chores done first thing in the morning and focus on my exercising in the afternoon or evening.

I'm going to try to post personals later tonight- after dinner.

So far, I've been making sure to have nice, balanced healthy snacks and meals and I'm loving it! I love the way protein fills you up and keeps you satisfied! I tried eating 5-6 small meals a day before and it didn't work well because it made me even hungrier. I think the problem was that I wasn't eating enough protein. It was probably too many carbs at each meal and snack. And we all know what too many carbs do, lol!!!!

I'm finding that eating more protein keeps me really satisfied until the next meal or snack and that I don't crave things!

So, eating 5-6 small meals/snacks a day with plenty of protein might just be what I needed.

BBL Friends!!!

flower Just 2 hrs. cleaning and laundry. That is so good. I spent 10 hrs. on mine the other day and now since we had company, I have to do it all over again.
