Not unless I also get an industrial strength time machine along with my weight loss! LOLOLOL!!!!
Anyway...forgot to report on the last thread...up 2 lbs. But since Aunt Flo and her dog spot stopped by, I can't complain. I made another batch of yogurt. Like the last batch, it was good, but a bit runny. Not sure if I am doing it wrong or if the commercial stuff is just so full of fillers I don't know what REAL yogurt texture is supposed to be ![]() I will just drain it like I usually do. Since it is TOM time, I took the small batch I drained earlier and added a bunch of coco and splenda. Yummmmmmmmm!

Hi ladies..
Well, it was on the Victoria Secret website. It was one of the more "modest" suits..LOLOL. Yes, that shipped has sailed a long time ago for me, too... Zilla: I do think that homemade yoggie is more fluid than the store stuff. I think draining is a good idea. No tornado, thank you, Lord. Just some rain..Gotta go see Betty today after doing some WWagon calls and my faux Curves time. You know..after Aunt Flo's ship sails (along with her dog, Spot..LOLLO), it is just a distant memory for me..................but glad I don't have to deal with it..

Here-same old rut, think things are moving down wt wise, besides everyplace affected by gravity. Staying with Atkins and EFGT, eating more fat. At least enough to stay in ketosis. Scale won't be nice to me, but after a lifetime of doing this I can kind of tell by the way I feel.
Expect things will be better for all of us in May. Carolyn, thanks so much for keeping this going, this is my favorite site Last edited by nitenurse : 05-02-2008 at 07:50 AM. |

Hi all!
Ugh, woke up to find that both my weight and my fasting blood glucose were high today -- no idea what the heck is going on with that. Supper last night was lowcarb and my BG before bed was 95, but this morning it was 114 and my weight is up to 197. ????? Rainy day, but I'm still happy. Today is Danny's 22nd birthday, and that just makes me happy. I'm such a dork. He asked for the lowcarb strawberry shortcake for his "cake" so I will make that soon. Sorry, I'm foggy-brained right now. Can't think of anything intelligent to say yet. Maybe I'll pop back in after coffee and contribute something better than this. Hope the day goes well for all of you! |

Mine would be..." Please Mother, may I never have to wear a swim suit again?" LOL
Thanks MK, Carolyn, Poot and Lene for the congrats. ![]() Lene- Tape bacon to your cat? Now that would be a sight. ![]() Sandy- I love those girlfriend get togethers, too. They are rare, but so much fun. It is great to just be a girl for a few days... not the mom, wife, etc. We always end up shopping more than we should, though. hehe Nitenurse- We do seem to lose the battle against gravity, don't we? At least we are all going to "head south" together. LOl

Heh, Bacon Cat is actually famous on the interwebs -- here's a link. Whatever: Clearly You People Thought I Was Kidding
This writer is such a hoot. I love his books, and his blog is always interesting and entertaining. I agree -- may I never have to don a swimsuit again. Too much shaving involved! Here are the lyrics to a song I love. It seems pertinent to this month's thread... Ladies Against Fanny Floss lyrics When our stretch marks look like the New Jersey Turnpike mapped from navel to knees, when the bottom's best feature is its interesting texture (the sign of a fine cottage cheese), when we search for the perfect bathing suit that will cover our assets -and still look cute- is this an impossible, hopeless pursuit? Or are we just too hard to please? When will we finally find the designer we need who will heed our demand? For a style at the shore (where less is not more) to guard the parts that are best left untanned? We need more protection than spandex rags; something cut larger than luggage tags tied with dental floss onto our saddle bags. Don't hide your heads in the sand. We're talking to you, Fashion Avenue We're not going to take any more We're your mothers and mistresses, wives and sisters united from shore to shore, We are standing erect with our hands on our chests four inches above the floor And we're asking you, Fashion Avenue for a little more support. Swimsuits abound for the 98-pounder whose legs alone measure five feet. Here's a fine idea: try a line this year for women who actually eat. Not for half-naked nymphs found posing between the pages--- of course!--- of a sports magazine, but swimsuits for those of us more likely seen between pages of Bon Appetit. Our legs do not end where our armpits begin; we want a realistic design, a little more coverage, a little less skin (some vertical stripes would be simply divine.) Swimwear that won't self-destruct with a wave, fashion to flatter the not-so-brave, at least let us know where to stop when we shave. Where do we draw the line? We're talking to you, Fashion Avenue We're not going to take any more We're your mothers and mistresses, wives and sisters united from shore to shore, We are standing erect with our hands on our chests four inches above the floor And we're asking you, Fashion Avenue for a little more support. One day we may see our feminist family rise from the underground, despite Father Time and weird Uncle Gravity constantly pulling us down. This dysfunctional system will finally heal, even our sisters with abs of steel will all too suddenly know how we feel ten years and two babies from now. And when we connect and command your respect, effectively paying our dues, your very language shall be more correct. Fat is a word you will no longer use. Those negative terms only grate on our nerves. Give adipose tissue the name it deserves. Call it ... "personal strategic energy reserves" and call stretch marks "organic tattoos" We're talking to you, Fashion Avenue We're not going to take any more We're your mothers and mistresses, wives and sisters united from shore to shore, We are standing erect with our hands on our chests four inches above the floor And we're asking you, Fashion Avenue for a little more support. Hi..
I don't think Free found our new thread..I'll have to pm her. She posted some coconut information on the end of the other one.. Confession: Wearing a bathing suit is not that bad..really..If you can find one that fits..I wore one even when I was close to 200 pounds. I wasn't going to deny myself a "hot tub experience" or swimming with my kids.... Lene: Funny song..I will look up the Bacon Cat net thing.. I got my DVD's from I Can Make You Thin by Paul McKenna..It will be interesting to hear more information about this program that is working for me..So far, so good. |

I have to confess if it wasn't for swimsuits I'd probably be way too overweight for my age and height. We used to have a pool and now luckily I go to the local pool with a bunch of my girlfriends almost every day in the summer and we always do at least one beach vacation every year. Usually in the winter, so I always joke that I always have a swimsuit in my future to keep me on my diet. More or less it seems lately.
I made yogurt once and it turned out pretty good. I'll see if I can find the recipe I used and post it. I've cleaned most of the day in preparation for my mom's party tomorrow. I'm amazed..I'm not stressed at all! Maybe it'll hit me tomorrow.

Sandy: You are just "organized"..I find when I do things "ahead", I feel in control..
Have fun at the party.I'm going to make Egg Roll Soup for dinner tonight..Although, I have so much chicken, I will use the "chicken" instead of the ground pork. It's on the Recipe Bulletin Board. I don't I will add those spicey ingredients, either..LOLOL.. |

Following is the method/recipe I used and I remember it turning out good. I think I made it twice. It's very easy.
The instructions for yogurt are as follows: Buy a good guality container of non-fat yogurt with "LIVE" cultures. This is the source of "starter" cultures for making your own batch of yogurt. It only takes a large spoonful of the fresh yogurt stirred into the jar of milk to inoculate that jar for fermentation into a new yogurt batch. Place the lidded jar of milk and cultures into a pan of fairly warm water into a oven.(if water is comfortable to touch...it's ok.).....or on pilot light of stove about two hours. I like using water in a pan because it's easier for me to control the heat over a time period....If it cools down too quickly.....I just add more hot water from the kettle. ..Too hot will kill the cultures and too cold will cause the cultures to hibernate and SLOW THE GROWTH until they are warm enough to grow again. It's helpful to shake jar or stir the contents to mix the cultures & speed growth. After it has gotten fairly thick it's done.......chilling it in icebox really makes it thicken a lot. Its ready to eat as is.........or sweeteners, vanillas, chocolate, etc can be added before serving... I’ve made this several times using Carb Countdown milk and have also used cream for a full fat yogurt. I have even left the mixture in the oven overnight and then put in refrigerator the next morning. The oven is not on. Good luck |

Lene - that's great!!
Sandy - wow! That recipe actually sounds easy! I don't feel like cooking tonight - so probably whole wheat pasta for DS15 and DH and I'll finish up the burgers from this past week. The rain has finally stopped though it's still sooooo windy! |

I didn't think to use Hood. Their chocolate milk is really good
![]() Today, I took some of my drained home-made stuff and added a few mixed berries and some splenda. Now I am stuffed. It was AAWWWEESSSSOOOOMMMMMEEE ! I may try using freeze dried yogurt culture and see if my results are any different. I am almost positive it isn't contamination or anything like that. I used to home brew and am very good as sterilizing stuff and avoiding unwanted bacteria in my stuff. |

Egg Roll soup-WOW that sounds SO good. I will have to check it out.
Hi all Weight up 3.5 lbs today! NOT nice! But I know its sodium as I have been good eating wise, but ate out lunch AND dinner! The last two days have been tough y'all, emotionally speaking. Step FIL is an alcoholic and his drinking is finally catching up to him, he has severe lowered tolerance and has fallen the last two days and hurt himself and so today MIL had to have him admitted to a detox center. We are all on pins and needles and doing everything to support her/them. But it has been SO emotionally draining. THAT and my soon to be 2 yr old is sick and so we have been up in the middle of the night, etc. UGH. There is more drama on other sides of the family too and I just need it to STOP. I need one day, one night, one small period of CALM, yanno? In the meantime I have decided to attempt to run a half marathon in October. I love to run but never do more than 3-4, maybe 4.5 miles, EVAH but a neighbor did one last year and she has me thinking I could do this! I am excited but SCARED. We'll see how I do training wise.
