Hi,

Nice to see you all posting..I'll "catch up" tomorrow. Brett and I worked 2 hours Thursday night and 4 hours today cleaning out his room and packing his stuff. One Taurus and one Camry full of stuff. Of course, the RA did the overview..They had to dust, vac, and mop the floor and all the "stuff" in the room. Luckily, we passed inspection. He had to dismantle his wooden loft and he gave the wood to another student and his dad..We ate at Famous Dave's............That was absolutely great!!!!!

Shon: Love to see you!!!! and thanks Zilla for the pics..

Back to normal..I am askeered to weigh.....................

Morning MK, I have coffee today. C'mon over! Looks like you and I are the early risers around here. I just had a chocolate egg cream for breakkie - man those things are so good and I am amazed at how they just kill my hunger! What a great discovery.

We don't need to mulch this year, but I feel for you. It is definitely not my favorite thing to do in the garden, but there are so many advantages to it and it does make everything look nice. Sounds like you have another busy day. I am doing laundry and not much else. Have Mass tomorrow morning and a baby shower in the afternoon. Hopefully the weather will hold out, but looks like rain - again!

Well, hey to all and everyone have a nice day.

Hi Shon!
Yep rain will be coming here too - again!

My friends called and canceled out on the Walk, (figures!) so that gives me time to buy some plants before lunch!

BBL!

What plants are you buying? Do you plant annuals? I'm going to start a container garden on the deck this year with parsley, basil, mint and rosemary. I love basil pesto (very Barry friendly) and didn't get to make any last year. That's my goal anyway. The only problem with the pesto is that I could just eat it by the spoonful! Never done container gardening before, so it should be enlightening! I really don't have much of a green thumb, but I do like getting outside and tending!

I have a horrible brown thumb, but I keep trying every year anyway!

I need annuals for the pots and tomato plants for the tomato planter.

Wish me luck!

I tried tomato and pepper plants one year. The tomatoes were ok, but the peppers, when I cut them open, had worms - yikes! Well, that was all she wrote - I promptly fed them to the disposal and will never try them again. I decided that my local supermarket was the ideal "garden" for that stuff. Sounds like you have a "greener" thumb than I! I marvel at people who can grow veggies with success. Maybe I should read up on it and see what I did wrong. But I don't do well with bugs of any kind - especially worms!!!!! Whenever I am outside in the garden or beds, I always have gloves on so at least I can flick anything crawly away from me. Once when I was helping dh with the mulch, I came across a praying mantis. Well, you'd have thought that it was a monster the way I ran into the house - dh laughing hysterically! Maybe there's a bottle of gin with my name on it before I start out to do this stuff!

You are soooo right, Wife! My dh gets a kick out of doing that to me, too! That doesn't run in our family, though. My mom told me that when she was a little girl, she would find spider webs and take a stick and touch one end of the web to stir the spider. Then she would touch the other end and apparently drive the spider crazy. She just thought that was so funny. You would have probably had fun with her scaring us poor, wimping things with your bugs! Me, I get chills when a stupid fly is in the house!!!!!!!!! So, do I really have any business in a garden? Hmmm.

Hi kids...

I am in total shock as I was down to 142.4 this morning..Well, yesterday for breakie I had 2 hard boiled eggs, one piece of toast with lots of peanut butter..THEN, we didn't eat lunch until 4:00, so that was probably it..The two meal a day plan..LOLOL..

Shon: I hear ya on the bugs and the plants..Mine are still alive out front..It's a miracle, Of course, I have been gone, so they do better on their own..LOLO

Zilla: At least you weren't throwing snakes at people..ewww...I hate me some snakes..

Mary Kay: Time to start cooking for me..with Brett home. I'm sure you are back in the "mode". Brett wants to learn how to cook this summer for his apartment living next year.
None of the boys can cook..Plus, he wanted a "special" recipe in case a girl comes over and he cooks..

Hi to all my Barry girls...I'm going to make a flourless orange/pineapple/coconut cake this afternoon. I'm using one orange, 1/2 can of crushed drained pineapple, and some unsweetened coconut. Probably a bit of pineapple and coconut extract. Hope it comes out okay.

Morning!!

Shon - I actually have a brown thumb - I just pray a lot!

Zilla - LOL! You're too funny!

Carolyn - Awesome!
I'm not quite in the food mode yet - DS19 keeps going out with his friends for dinner!

What a long day yesterday!
The grad parties were fun and then I watched most of Melinda Melinda.

I have 4 more pots and the tomato plants to put in today then I can start complaining about watering it all! Thanks for loving me anyway!

I bet you're going to have a big whoosh when you do drop since you're losing so many inches. Just be patient and try not to only depend on that scale number. I know we all like to see "our numbers" but really it's not always the best measure of our success, ya know? You're doing great so just keep on keepin' on and that scale will move eventually. I think it's a conspiracy myself, , but don't let it win, ok?

Hi gang..

Prozak: Yup..you know..fat doesn't weigh very much. So, you can lose alot of fat (inches) and gain muscle and even gain a bit of weight and have your clothes fit better. Someone once said, "I don't care if I weigh 200 pounds as long as I am a size 8"..(you get the idea).

I do need to measure, too..

Had our Chinese buffet today..small plate and lots of water in the afternoon to flush out the salt. Boys are doing "lawn work"..I'm getting Brett's clothes ready for his "real job".
It's 81 and humid here.

The Hospice peeps came on board and started giving tiny little Betty morphine (She was NOT in that much pain at all). Well, they gave it to her once..on Friday after breakfast..
She just really woke up this morning. Not a good thing..So, the doctor put a hold on it and hopefully, she will gain some strength back..We saw her this morning..Glen is visiting
now and we will go back with Brett tonight (with a KState plastic mug for her)..

Hi to all my buddies...I'm loving the pineapple/coconut/orange cake made with almond flour..Tons of fat from the eggs/almond flour..It's a very Barry friendly cake.

I'm pooped!
Shopped for way too long.
Didn't find any bras that fit.
Finally bought some Lee Skimmers pants and then had to spend another $50 on flowers!

And no one had done anything around the house when I got back!

Well, I'm officially pooped out! I had the family over for dinner for son's birthday since he'll be out of town next week on his real birthday. Everything was yummy and of course I ate too much. I'm sure glad tomorrow's Monday. Mom and Dad didn't get to come. Mom is feel bad again so I'll probably be running her to Drs. appts. this week. And this is NOT a good week for me to try to start adding activities to. I'm already pretty full. But I'll manage I'm sure. I'm a woman and that's what we do, right?

This whole weekend ended up being pretty much a bust all the way around so I need do-overs this week, lol.

Yes Carolyn I guess we are but most days I feel more like chopped liver, IYKWIM. I called my mom and asked her if she thought she needed to go to the hospital and she said no, not tonight. She said she'd just go to the Dr. tomorrow. I told her to call my brother and put him on standby b/c my morning is FULL with appts. for me already. I'm sure in an emergency I could cancel them but I hate to cancel last minute and if my brother can step in I shouldn't have to. One of my appts. is my monthly massage. And I need it this month alot!

I really don't even know exactly how to pray for all the sick "momma's" we have around here. I know my mom is tired of fighting this and somedays I'm sure she just wishes it was over. Then other days when she feels a little better I think she changes her mind. With her illnesses, there's no chance of any real recovery so it's not like she's ever going to get "well". It's 2 very nasty diseases and really isn't a great way to spend your last days. I always pray that she'll be comfortable and that God takes her when the time is right. She's said she's ready and not afraid and that it's all in His hands now.

Sorry to be such a downer. I don't mean to be. We believe she's going to a better place so that's actually good news. The journey is what's sometimes hard.

I was trying to make yogurt, but my son looked at the pot and decided the cream and milk looked like a good soup base. So when I went in the living room to straighten up, he poured vegetables and spices in the pot. ^@&%#*(!@&@!*@!

So now he has a TON of milk and cream based soup and I have no yogurt.

Boys are so dumb.

Hi ladies.

Sandy: I am right where you are with little Betty. I guess I always put myself in her place and I certainly wouldn't want to be so sick in a nursing home, not being able to walk or barely talk or eat. Yes, there is a much better place than this Earth..(even on good days). Enjoy your massage...

Gosh, Zilla: Your son must actually "cook"..That is a big "thumbs up" for the kid!!! I guess you will be eating soup for a while, huh? OR he will be eating it for quite a while.

Morning MK - c'mon over for a cup of coffee. It's chilly this morning, so no coffee on the deck. Maybe I'll start a fire!

Went to my niece's baby shower yesterday and I must say I'm quite proud of myself. She had a ton of food and I only had some roast beef, cheese and tossed salad and nothing else - not even the gorgeous cake that was calling my name. I did, however, have a cup of her strong coffee around 2. Well, at 1:30this morning, I woke up bouncing off the walls! I finally fell asleep around 4 but got up at 5. Not good for me - I'll be sluggish all day. Oh well, the shower was fun. Oh and by the way, she had the baby last Wednesday, so he was there, too. His name is Patrick Jacob and he has a ton of blonde hair! He slept through the whole thing - even while all of us played "pass the baby"! These little beauties are always reminders of life's joys in the midst of sorrows.

Prayers for all the sick mommies. It's hard for them to endure and hard for us to watch.
