Day 1: 237 (restart after NOLA fiasco)
Day 2: 234.6
Day 3: 231.4
Day 4: 227.8 <-- had protein bar in the AM.
Day 5: 227.4
Day 6: 225.8
Day 7: 227.0 <-- the body is a weird thing...lol.

Maybe I only had one foot on the scale yesterday

Anyways...
Here are some of the things I am eating today ddailey:

I LOVE bagels and LOX, and truly have missed them...so...
2 WASA FIBER flatbreads (like 4.7carbs, but 2.5fiber, and 1.5 protein)
1TBS FF CR. Cheese spread on the flatbread, salted with lite salt (i need the salt).
About 2oz Lox (smoked salmon) divided between these crisp breads. If I have fresh basil in the house, I put a whole basil leave under the salmon...really adds flavor. top with cracked pepper. heaven.

Also had a serving of tofu sprinkled with hot sauce (don't laugh). I'm one of the few ppl i know that actually enjoys eating tofu...lol

For lunch, I'll make a salad in the cafeteria here at work. I've been doing that all week. with about 1.5c greens (i enjoy the other stuff more than the greens), cuke slices, mushrooms, maybe some broccoli of they have it out, about a TBS of green peas, a few banana pepper rings, topped with some chopped ham or turkey. I don't use salad dressing at all...I dress with lemon juice. Yesterday i added a small sprinkle of sesame seeds...quite tasty. I will also have some more tofu with hotsauce - 2 servings...

Dinner will be a taco salad - since daughter wanted tacos! Shredded lettuce, ground chicken, with seasoning, topped with some FF cheese, and fresh salsa courtesy of my Magic Bullet , and a dollop of FF plain yogurt.

I will probably fit in a protein shake of sorts this evening, as today is kind of low in the protein area.

I always get 100 calories from my fish tabs...i'm really loyal about taking those.

I don't always eat this way either...many times because of my schedule, I find myself here at work, eating tuna out of an envelope for breakfast...lol. sad, but true. Luckily I keep tic tacs on hand...lol. I'm pretty catch as catch can. I keep my workplace stashed with cans/envelopes of tuna, salmon, and chicken breast. Just in case.

Nill - Yes, I have a chubby Mii, too. I also get a kick out of the little "Oh!" that sounds when I first step on the board - at least it doesn't groan!

Hi-

I did callanetics a long long time ago, but gave up on it because the workout was a full hour long- does she have a shorter workout now? Something that doesn't take up that much time?

Un-Potato Recipe

Nill - here is a link to a recipe. I think this is similar to the one I make (I'm not at home right now.) I will probably use a mixture of mayo and FF sour cream instead of all mayo, tho.

Good morning everyone

I'm still sick so the diets off until I can keep food down LOL.

Knowing myself from past experience, I really retain water when I'm ill. Maybe it's because of the dehydration, I'm not sure. I haven't weighed yet. I'm scared to.

Happy Friday to All!

Just got back from a Looooonnnng day at the park/zoo with my daycare kiddos. Okay, it really wasn't that long of a day but they certainly make you feel like it! LOL For the most part it was fun. Now if I could just get all my parents to pick up early and pay on time it would truly be a good start to my long weekend.

Down another .5 this morning. I just need to get rid of these 2 last stubborn pounds to be back into the 170's (I know that still seems like a lot, but considering I haven't seen it in over 2 1/2 years -before last dd was born- it will be quite nice!) I have so much party stuff to get done over the next 2 days so I likely won't be on much. I say that now, but somehow I always find time to sneak in and take a quick peek! Plan on Saturday night-Sunday night to be a 24 hr refeed. At least if I plan it that way, I won't beat myself up too bad if I eat a little off plan this weekend. I honestly think my body could use it anyways. Okay, their short rest time is almost over..... Have a great weekend all!

Sorry to hear that you're still sick Jana. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanx for the explaination about aerobics and calories, that finally makes sense to me now. I've heard others say you only burn half of what the bike says you do, but couldn't figure out how that could be. Subtracting your bmr from that total makes sense.

I'm up to 15 reps on my FBWO now, so I'm seeing a bit of strength/stamina progress, even if it's kindda slow.

Weight is pretty much holding stable the last few days, but my scale shows my water percentage waaaay up, and the humidity is high around here with the weather so drizzly. It can't decide whether to rain, snow, hail, or what have you.

We went to breakfast at the park early this morning, before my husband went to work. Church fund-raiser. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, and milk. So I'm doing a full day refeed today, rather than a 5 hour one. We had cheeseburgers, potato salad, and watermelon for dinner -- so my fat is going to be pretty much over the line. But that's the way it goes sometimes as dinner was already planned and made, so I couldn't really change anything after I saw what was being served this morning for breakfast.

I'm moving into my last week of this diet round. Weight loss on the scale isn't all that much, once you subtract the glycogen/water weight I'll be putting back on. But I can tell a difference in my body. Especially in the way my clothes fit. I'm down a full inch in my waist and 1/4 inch in my belly so that's really, really good for me, as I haven't lost anything in my waist and belly this whole diet round. I think it's coming off of my legs and back cuz my large sized tee shirt this morning is fitting me well, rather than "barely".

Day 1: 180.4
Day 7: 174.4
Day 13: 172.2
Day 20: 175.2
Day 27: 172.4
Day 34: 172.6

The above are all Saturday morning weights. I've been 172.6 for the past 4 days, and today is refeed day, so even that's going away tomorrow!!! I've debated as to whether or not to call in my diet break early, since I don't seem to be making any progress, but I've decided to stick it out this last week. It could just not be showing up on the scale yet. At least, I hope that's what it is lol.

Memorial Day

Day 1: 237 (restart after NOLA fiasco)

Day 8: 225.6
Day 9: 225.8 <-- Free Meal
Day 10: 226.8

Have to say that I really enjoyed my free meal yesterday. Went on a picnic with my daughter, and had a little bit of all the things I've not been having. Macaroni salad, potato salad (real non "un"..lol) One thing I have noticed that I did not drink enough water during the day yesterday. not my usual 60+ oz., so I result with a bloaty feeling in the am. Have to work on that. ready to hit it back hard this week...hoping for another decent loss. Am start to feel a difference in my clothing, etc.

Just checking in,
It's my last week before taking a break, so I'm going to try to stay strict. The weekend left me up 2.4 pounds, but about 1-1/2 pounds lower than last Monday, so I'm hoping for a good week. The weather is still bad here, rain in and out, in and out. It can't decide what it wants to do, so I have lots of inflammation and water retention still. Been reading a bunch over at BLC, in some of the journals over there, since most of them -- for the most part -- have moved beyond low carb now. Interesting stuff.

I think I'm going to try to do two 12 rep sets this week, and see how that goes. Usually I do them on M - W - F, but my husband is home today, watching tv, and I don't have anywhere to do that. So I rode my exercise bike for 10 minutes instead.

Day 1: 180.4
Day 7: 174.4
Day 13: 172.2
Day 20: 175.2
Day 27: 172.4
Day 34: 172.6 Refeed

Day 35: 173.8 Maintenance Day
Day 36: 175

Hoping a good week for everyone!!!

Arggghhh.....My weight is up and actually stayed the same from yesterday. I did have a free meal on Sunday after all, but I think I showed great restraint. I'm wondering if there might be a reaction to my doing Callanetics on Saturday and yesterday. Would my muscles be hanging on to that much water? Even tho I'm not doing the full count on some of the exercises?

Day 1 236.8
Day 7 234.6
Day 14 230.4
Day 21 229.6

Day 23 230.2 FM
Day 24 234.4
Day 25 234.4

Good morning everyone-

Well, back on strictly protein shakes today- going to try to be extra strict until the end of June- I need to get my weight down by the 4th of July to make my new goal- I had a cheat day yesterday- so, don't dare weigh myself today- also, I am doing the ec stack 3x per day, which really seems to be helping with hunger....also, something about the protein shakes helps with hunger....
Ok check in later

Back to work!

Hey folks...hope everyone is doing well...i'm up another lb after my FM on Sunday, but I'm not sweating it....I know its water, I can feel it. Friday may be another FM for me, as my hubby comes home and wants home made pizza.
I make good pizza LOL. I may be able to not have any, we shall see.

ddailey~you'll get those last couple pounds i'm sure. I'd love to be in your shoes fighting with them right now....rather than the 50 i need to lose to get there! ack....just thinking about it is daunting!

Gib~if you had a FM and then started Callenetics, you may very well be holding a bunch of water....I'm not positive, but it would make sense...do you feel bloaty? I can always tell when i am holding it....I feel like a over-filled water balloon. Maybe doing the callentics every other day would be better?
to give your muscles a chance for recovery in between? Even though you may not be doing all the exercises for the full length of time...you are still doing something you were not doing before right?

Goodluck with your next goal shamrock! You can do it!

I put some frozen strawberries in my shake yesterday morning instead of ice cubes....YUMMY

Day 1: 237 (restart after NOLA fiasco)

Day 8: 225.6
Day 9: 225.8 <-- Free Meal
Day 10: 226.8
Day 11: 227.8 <-- ACK!

Nill - Yes, I'm doing the Callanetics only every other day. And yes, I did feel kinda bloaty this morning, but not overly so. I can name a number of things I ate on Sunday that might have contributed.

I need to stop at the store and pick up some eggs - I need me some HB eggs for snacks! Also need some salad fixin's.

I don't know anything about Callanetics, but I know that weight/strength training causes water retention in the muscles, since water is used to help the muscles repair themselves. I don't see why Callanetics wouldn't be the same.

My recovery from the weekend was really fast this time. In fact, I'm back down to my lowest weight yet -- in a single day. And am still going to the bathroom constantly, so I think I'm 'finally' going to release all the water I've stored up over this diet round.

I managed to do 2 sets of exercises this morning, with a 15 or 20 minute pause somewhere in the middle, cuz the bird-dogs kindda knocked me for a loop the first time I tried to do them. I had no balance, so I had to wait a while before attempting them. And then after I did them, I almost forgot to do the rest of my free-weights lifting. Geesh. The day is a nice day, and I still don't have much brain function today.

I didn't have to work today. The kids are going on a full-day work detail, so I packed them a lunch yesterday, for today. That left me plenty of time and energy to tackle my basement. We have lots of shelves down there, but stuff has just been dragged downstairs and then thrown every which way, so I got a lot of it cleared out this morning. And put away where it belongs.

I'm planning on devoting some time to my yard this summer, so I thought I'd go outside after writing this post, and check things out. I have onions growing that I didn't pull up last year (planted in a brick, raised bed) cuz they hadn't grown bigger than a green scallion, and lots of weeds in there that need pulling. My house is "cold" because since it's a nice day, my husband didn't start a fire before he left as he thought it would then get too warm.

So I'm going outside to warm up lol.

Day 1: 180.4
Day 7: 174.4
Day 14: 172.2
Day 20: 175.2
Day 27: 172.4
Day 34: 172.6 Refeed

Day 35: 173.8 Maintenance Day
Day 36: 175
Day 37: 172.2

Here's hoping for VT tomorrow!!!

Day 1

Hello ladies! I hope you don't mind if I join in! I am starting the Rapid Fat Loss Diet today. I have been indulging in sweets too much this year and need to lose some weight fast before my high school reunion in June. I have never really followed a diet plan, but I have been reading about tons lately...Fat Burning Diet, Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle, The Warrior Diet...all with conflicting ideas! I don't know what I will end up doing in the long run, but I need a quick fix for now. So here are my stats:

Age: 28 (just turned last Friday!)
Weight: 139 (one pound higher than my highest in college, ugh!)
Height: 5' 3"
Body Fat: 22.7%

I am a Category 1, and I exercise, so I am using 1.5 grams of protein per pound of LBM. That amounts to about 160 grams of protein a day. My plan is to stick with this for 11 days, do a 2 day refeed and do another 11 days if needed. I plan on doing Callanetics 3 days a week and kettlebell workouts 2-3 days a week.

Food for today has been:

Coffee w/ fat free half and half
1/2 c. fat free cottage cheese w/ protein powder, stevia and cinnamon
1 can of tuna and egg white fried with 2% cheese on top, salsa, 1 c. collards
Beef jerky
Planned for dinner: Homemade non-starchy vegetable soup w/ 4 oz. chicken breast, 1/2 c. cottage cheese w/ cocoa powder and stevia for dessert

What do you guys think? On fitday this comes to 920 calories and 145 grams of protein. Thanks in advance for any input!

Tori

Tori!

Good luck with RFL! Your menu looks okay - the only thing I would question is the beef jerky. It may be loaded with protein, but isn't it really salty? I know I couldn't handle it, but then I tend to be very sensitive to sodium. You might want to use some Whey powder to increase your protein. I use EAS whey powder mixed with FF cottage cheese, or just mixed with ice/water with a litte DaVinci SF syrup.

Check in as often as you can and let us know how you are doing.

Me? I think I'm letting go of that water weight. . I'll be doing my 3rd Callanetics session today. I'm amazed how much I'm "feeling" my muscles. Last night, I was very aware of my triceps and abs.

Day 1 236.8
Day 7 234.6
Day 14 230.4
Day 21 229.6

Day 23 230.2 FM
Day 24 234.4
Day 25 234.4
Day 26 231.8

Day 2

Good morning all!

Linda - Thanks for the welcome. I don't plan on buying anymore jerky, I just needed a quick snack yesterday. I do have protein powder that I am adding to my cottage cheese. It is hard to get so much protein in so the powders really help!

Day 1 - 139
Day 2 - 138

I hope it just keeps going down! I didn't workout yesterday, but I am going to do Callanetics tonight. I always feel it in my abs and triceps the next day too Linda! I am hoping to see some big differences since I am dieting. I did Callanetics pretty consistently for a month and felt stronger but didn't lose any inches due to my diet.

Have a great day!

Good Morning Ladies,
And a very big welcome to Tory!!! Glad you have joined us.

My husband didn't have to work today, so I wanted to check in this morning before I left for work. In case, I don't have time to do it later on.

For all the time I spent in the bathroom yesterday, I was surprised that I wasn't more down on the scale. However, I "did" reach VT today!!! Plus the scale says my water retention is waaaaay up again. Probably because I doubled my FBWO yesterday.

I'm having a real struggle with myself, as to "what" to do with my low carb blog. I'm finding that this Lyle stuff is working so well for me, that I'm pretty sure "this" is what I will be doing from now on. Only I can't really talk about that in that blog, since most of what the low-carb community preaches/believes these days isn't congruent with what we are actually doing. I don't want to add to the disinformation, but I also feel I need to be honest in my posts.

I truly see a "need" for low carb diets. There's lots of folks who are Insulin Resistant, and have to keep their carbs low, at least initially. But the TRUTH about "why" that kindda diet works, and how it really plays out in our lives just isn't accepted these days. So I'm wondering if I should just let it all be for awhile, cuz I don't wanna blow it up or anything like that. I just don't want to have to keep having to deal with the prominent folks coming "at" me for what I believe it true.

Maybe I should just start a new one that isn't low carb. One that is more in line with the truth about weight loss and dieting. I have my psmf log, but that's a more personal, menu/diet day adventure and I really MISS writing up and posting my weight loss articles.

Day 1: 180.4
Day 6: 174.4
Day 13: 172.2 VT
Day 20: 175.2
Day 27: 172.4
Day 34: 172.6 Refeed

Day 35: 173.8 Maintenance Day
Day 36: 175
Day 37: 172.2
Day 38: 172 VT

Just looking at my stats, it doesn't look like a whole heck of a lot of progress, not when you factor back in the 6 lbs of glycogen/water I'm sure to regain next week during maintenance, but I'm holding soooo much water right now, I think the water is masking my true fat loss for this diet round. At any rate, I went into this round knowing that my fat loss wouldn't be up to par, since I didn't have a good handle on HOW I was going to do things. Now that I do, I think the next round will be very successful. At least, I hope so.

Measurements

Have any of you been tracking your inches lost? I am curious about how much of the weight lost is actually fat.

Still retaining water...can feel it. Not quite sure whats going on, but I'm just going to go with it...see what happens. I'm not too worried....just annoyed.

Vickie, I can understand your feelings about the blogging and such. Seems that many times people really like to focus on picking apart other folks way of reaching their goals. I personally am comfortable with what i'm doing. You really do have a ton of information to share...I hope you continue to do so, because I know that for myself, I get a lot out of it.

Tori~~ Welcome! I am not taking measurements right now. I may start that later, but for now, I'm good with what I'm doing...following plan, waiting for results. Best of luck to you on your journey...Stick it out, and I'm sure you'll look fantaztic for your reunion!

Hey Gib~~Nice whoosh! You go! I got my am/pm Callanetics dvd tonight...woohoo!
I am going to put it in when I go to bed tonight (no laughing!) so that i can watch it through, so I am ready to start in the AM. I'm REALLY excited to start! I've read so much about it!

I made myself an oriental chix soup tonight. 1 can of Kame stir fry vegetables, 1 envelope of cubed chicken breast, 1 cup chix broth, 1 tsp (or so) of red curry paste. Fresh Cilantro. Very filling...very yummy! I'm in a "I hate tuna" phase right now, as well as an "I hate egg" phase, so its really limiting my choices here.

I see alot of you mix your Protein Powder with FF cottage cheese...Have you ever tried it with FF Ricotta? I may do that tomorrow....I bought the Ricotta, and have not found a use for it yet! I'll let you know how it is. I was thinking of mixing some up and putting it in the freezer, like ice cream! I'll let you know if it works! I feel like Dr. Frankenstein...lol

Have a great day tomorrow everyone! whooshes for all.

Good Morning, all.

Vickie - I'm with Nill - You have alot of information to share and I really enjoy reading it. I understand your reluctance, tho. Have you had other people commenting/bashing you in the past?

Nill - One of my favorite things to do with cottage cheese or ricotta is to mix it with SF Jello. A very nice, refreshing dessert. Although, you don't get the extra protein. Oh, and for the Callanetics (I'm by no means an expert), I found a used book called Callanetics Countdown which gives some good illustrations of modifications for beginners. The 10 in 10 video mostly shows the advanced positions and I was having alot of difficulty with them. Now I use the proper beginning positions and can progress at my own pace. I have an old AM/PM video (gasp - VHS) which I haven't looked at yet. I will do that by next week.

Day 1 236.8
Day 7 234.6
Day 14 230.4
Day 21 229.6

Day 23 230.2 FM
Day 24 234.4
Day 25 234.4
Day 26 231.8
Day 27 230.6
