Starting the program....

I am starting the SS program tomorrow. I have SS off and on for years. I have all the books so I am dusting them off tonight and getting with the program. I originally started out at 208 in '97 and my lowest was 128. I am now at 140 and want to get back to 128. I will be checking in often with my progress. I was so glad to find that others are still using the program.

Sorry, this is sooo late, but I would use the salsa without the sugar if possible. Im still doing SS myself it s just that the thread had pretty much died here so I quit visiting.

I'd definitely use the sugar free salsa. Give the one with sugar in it to a food drive or something, thats what we did with al our illegal food.
THe cereal is Arrowhead Mills puffed brown rice cereal. I get it at a health food store in town called Sawall's. I've heard they sell it at walmart but haven't been there to check. I eat it with Walden farms sugar free gluten free pancake syrup. Makes it taste like Smacks or Golden Crisp! Yummy!
I'm glad you all are giving this WOE a go. I've had fantastic results and my mom has had drastic health improvements along with having lost 7 lbs.
This blog helped me out a ton when I first started: Wired in the Floribbean
She really knows her stuff and has some great recipes. Good luck! I'll try to check in more often, my computer acess has been limited lately!!

Now remember, I hate and despise Walmart but there are about 3 things I buy there - the bags of Puffed Rice and Puffed Wheat cereal at Walmart are only $1.00 a bag.

I sprinkle my cereal with Whey Low Gold (brown sugar substitute) or I flavor the milk with some sugar free Da Vinci syrup. Vanilla, caramel.......

I haven't been on this site in a long time.

Well....I'm new. I used to frequent the SS boards a long time ago...SSing didn't seem to be working for me. Tried tweeking it and looking for what could be giving me the problem. I was on a birth control injection (can't remember the name right now.....that darn Altzheimers ) and thought them may be the problem. Then tried it again, after getting off that, but never stuck with it. Now I'm "joyfully" going through menopause and am on the Vivelle Dot. I know about the bioidentical hormones. Still coming back to this WOE and found the SS boards are no more; I used to count on DebB to help me out of tons of "jams" with questions and such! Any pointers for someone just getting back into the groove of this?

Thanks! Deb

I'm still Somersizing, just don't really have much to say, lol.
Started exercising again so hopefully I'll get back down to where I want to be. I made goal, went a lil crazy on level two and had to go up two pant sizes, lol, live and learn.
I'm glad to hear more people are giving this a go, I think it's one of the best things you can do for yourself. As far as advice... I guess just remember to read the ingredient list on everything that will be going in your mouth! Those food manufacturers are sneaky! Good luck!

Hi. I'm new. I just started SS a week ago and have lost 4 pounds. I bought a book a long time ago when I was doing Adkins, but never read it because I thought it was basically the same thing. I found a book at the thrift store a few weeks ago and after reading the first chapter I found out SS is different, and it was just the difference I needed. I have not been able to lose weight in a long time so 4 pounds was just the motivation I needed! I hope this board keeps going.

I don't know if anyone is on here anymore but I will be restarting my program on August 18 if anyone is interested in supporting each other.

I would love the company and new ideas and any old ideas.

Thanks

I havent lost anything lately, but I have maintained what I had lost. Im still in my size 10s..Yipppeee. Im going to try this week to cut out my Artifical sweetner. That will mean no more Diet Pepsi for me. I will possibly die..lol.. See you later in the week. EAT WELL.

I think I used to talk to you here before. I did really well for a while and lost 40 lbs. but over the summer I gained 10 of it back so I am starting over again ( how many times have I said that) on Tuesday. I hope to hear from you later. I keep trying to go on the suzane somers website but the community still isn't working it has been down for a long time. I hope they get it working someday. talk to you soon.

Hello everyone!

I'm restarting today. I had some success with somersizing during the brief time that I did it. For the most part it seems like the most sensible plan for my lifestyle. I'm going on vacation (class reunion) at the end of the week so I do have an uphill battle but I will definitely attempt to stay on plan.

Yes, We used to talk back and forth a good bit here. Are you still trying to exercise? IT is sooo hard when it is soo hot. LIke it is in Georgia. I have been getting out 3 to 4 days a week, now that school is back in session. I was doing 5 to 6 days a week during the Summer.
I tried the new SS site and registered and everything, but I go on to try to sign in. It wont take my passwords and all. SO if I go in there I just read the posts without posting back. She is really trying to sell her stuff now , I noticed. I guess times are hard for everyone.

Yea I think everyone is hurting. I can't afford to buy her products but her diet works for me so I hope I can get more recipes without have to use her products.

I have been going to the gym I started back yesterday and was worn out. Today I felt a little better as time goes on it will feel better.

I'm out of town right now visiting family and friends but I will try to stay on plan. Yesterday I drove 12 hours to get here but for the most part I didn't do to bad. But at the end of the night I finished a bag of trail mix including nuts and a several M and Ms. Not perfect but not too bad. I will do better.

Okay, I'm trying to stay on plan but have been slipping during my vacation. I'm currently visiting my mom and 20 year old son. My son (who is unemployed) is living with my mom (who is on a fixed income). I get here and find out... that my son has moved in his girlfriend and she too is living with my mom! How I found out? Well, neither told me but during my stay I noticed she never left AND she was walking around the house in her nightgown eating cereal!!! I am furious. Not only is my mother supporting my lazy son but he has the audacity to move in his girlfriend.

Soooooooo, of course I'm upset and that has NOT helped my eating plan. Today I ate a white castle burger and more fried food than planned (Im trying to rid myself of fried food completely). Today was VERY stressful and I ate instead of going completely crazy on my son, his girlfriend and even my mom for enabling my son in being a complete lazy butt. Ugh...I'm still mad. Please excuse my rant. It's just my emotions really do effect my eating patterns and right now I feel like falling completely out of control.

I am so sorry for what you are dealing with. It also sounds like something my mom would do. It is very hard to stay on track when you are stressed out. Vent anytime you want.

This is the only program that works for me to lose weight so I will be here for a long time.

Still here

I've lost 7 pounds and have kind of stalled, but I can tell I've lost inches and that's enough to keep me going. I go to Zumba classes three times a week, too. Has anyone on the board tried using the shirataki noodles? They sell at least one type of the noodles at my local organic market.

I've had the shirataki noodles and do not care for them. The texture is too rubbery and I feel that no type of sauce (pasta nor asian) can overshadow that rubber band texture.
