Lately I've been using only egg yolk in my egg cream because I find that two egg yolks keep me more satisfied and less bloated than using one whole egg. I save the whites and when I have about six, make an omlette for my evening meal.

Hi all!
Happy Sunday! ![]() I've made a big decision about my eating. I've decided to go back to what was working for me really well last summer, which is two meals a day of whatever I want. And, I've set things up so that I can now go the gym four times a week. I feel best when I am intermittent fasting, and although I'd love to say that intuitive eating is just right for me, the fact is that I'm not ready to do it. It's opened the window to a lot of snacking for me, and I just don't feel as well doing it. Last summer, I was so please with how I felt on IF, so I am back. My window will be closer to six hours, as I will probably eat around noon and around 5:30on most days. If I decide to go and have dinner with a friend on a Friday night, then the window might be seven or eight hours. The particulars don't really matter--what does matter is eating twice a day and ending all the snacking. I am going to need to be very accountable here, until I can get back into the groove of it again. And at the same time, I am trying to spend less time on the Internet and more time working on developing the writing classes that I want to teach. So, I will be here each day--but just for a quick check in. I will start this new "program" of mine tomorrow. I've got to go for now, but I just wanted to let you all know: I am back to IF! See you all tomorrow to check in!! Rachel |

Happy Sunday Evening IF'ers !
Barb and Rachel: This is so totally ironic ! I have also made the decision to go back to strictly IF.....while I think the McKenna Methods are great, I also agree it just seems to boggle things down too much and I need things to be simple as I head into maintenance. So I am going with what has worked best for me and that is IF.....I never really left the IF program, but sometimes, trying to following too many plans and methods at one time can only muddy the waters. So here we go Ladies ! ![]() Congrats to all the losers.....WTG ! I have lost one more pound, but man is it ever tough trying to lose those last few ! I wantedt to let you all know I have been assigned a special project at work which is, unfortunately, going to cut into my free time quite a bit over the next few weeks. So I might not get to post as often, but I will surely keep up with the thread and post as often as I can.....this thread is like a lifeline to me, so I will not ever be too far away! At any rate, there is a very nice bonus in this for me, if I do a good job on this project, so I really must devote the adeqate time to it to make it successful. I am excited about the opportunity, but kinda dreading all the work ! A big Hello to all my other IF Buddies....hope everyone is doing real well. I will see you on the thread as often as I possibly can ! KUTGW everyone ! Stay strong and focused and KISS !

Good Monday Morning, IFers,
CarolinaSweetie, I'm sure you'll do well with this project and that bonus to you will be worth the time. Glad to know that you'll be reading even though you may not have the time to post.........good luck to you!! Rachel, your decision is well grounded and we all need to do what works best for us. Paul McKenna's program, I'm sure, works for some people, but I too find that keeping it simple sweet works best. I have applied some of the techniques, such as putting my fork down, etc., but the entire program is not suited for me. Going to the gym 4 times a week will certainly do a lot of good! We had a very nice time at the tournament. I brought my audio book with me, and a hard copy of another, so the time went very quickly for me. Our team didn't do too well, but it happens sometimes. I ate rather well, but feel I ate too much, and am up 2 lbs.(back to my siggy weight) this morning, but it doesn't bother me, because I know it's part of the process. Hi to everyone else, and hope each of you have a great IF Monday. I'll bbl to see what's happening.

Good Monday morning IFers! Hope all is well with everyone. Glad to see the scale moving for some of you, and that the rest of you are figuring out what you need to do to lead a healthy lifestyle. Remember, you are worth it, and keep tweaking until you find what is perfect for you!
My scale is still holding, but not terribly worried. Still hanging onto that 1 extra pound above my siggy weight. I am going to name it and claim it that I will be below my sig weight within the next two weeks! That's my plan. Eating clean, in my window, and working out. Here's to a great IF day for everyone!

Good Morning IF'ers
I sure have missed you all - I had to take a internet hiatus (initially forced when my internet connection was down for a few days) because I was letting it interfere too much in my life. Hopefully I'll keep it under control better now. I have not been doing IF lately and I'm ready to get back to it (funny timing as I'm catching up on the thread). Not sure what my window is going to be since right now it's about 10 hours, so have to narrow down and see what's going to work best now. There has been soooo much that I missed that I don't have time for personals right now but want to say congrats, there are so many losses since I've been gone, I'm impressed!!! Hugs!

Hi everyone! Just checking in quickly!
My plan is still going well. I am down 3 pounds in total My menu for the past three days has been Saturday B - An apple L - Grapes and strawberries D - Grapes and strawberries Sunday B - Grapes and Strawberries L - Strawberries and pineapple D - Vegetable stir fry S - an apple, protein bar and orange juice Today B - An apple and pineapple L - Vegetable broth D - Vegetable stir fry S - Orange juice I was planning to stick completely to fruit but my teeth were getting sensitive with the acid I think. Also i was pretty hungry some days and I thought the veggies would fill me up more. I couldn't give up my tea but I'm not worrying too much because I am down 3 pounds and I am so happy! I really hope this continues. I am not doing IF just now I was just trying a little "shake up" plan to get things moving. I will be back to IE/IF soon though and I think I will try and stick to mainly fruits and veg until I reach my target.

Good having you back, Katie. Your new avi is awesome!
I opened my window about 2ish with an egg cream made with 2 eggs, cream, Calorie Countdown and some unsweetened cocoa, then later, had a little bit of pork and tomato, and now, the thought of food is not so pleasing. I had planned on having a stuffed burger with Vadalia onion and cheddar, but just couldn't handle any more food. I'm going to experiment with opening my window a bit earlier tomorrow with an egg cream, so that by dinner time, I can have my meat, veggie and salad, and get those calories up a bit. I expect to be on a downward trend in the next couple of days, maybe sooner. |

I haven't been feeling all that great lately. I can tell my blood sugar isn't all that stable. But, I didn't think it was that bad. Tonight I am cycling between being hungry and nauseous and that spacey/shaky/blood sugar is off somehow feeling, so I tested. 196! I had just eaten two string cheeses, a Tums, and I'm drinking some sugar-free decaf tea. The last thing I ate before than was some mac n cheese around 7pm - so 5+ hours ago. I'm not happy about the possibilities.
I think, for now, I'll go back to low-carb until I can get an appointment w/ a doc to take a look at things. I really didn't think I was doing that badly! I've done better, or so I thought, w/ McKenna's than I've done on "Intuitive Eating" in the past. Today I even waited until much closer to my IF window to start eating, and other than the cheese I stopped by close of window. Scares me for what my #'s were yesterday, recently... I will update as soon as I get any info.

Thanks for the links Barbara. I'll read in a second. Tested my fasting blood sugar and it was 147. I'm in a funk. I know I shouldn't eat carbage, but it's yummy and I've been doing so much better with portions and desires for it, etc. I'm afraid this blood sugar crud is going to mess with my head. I don't do so well when stuff is forbidden. I know it's not good times. I feel like a little kid who's had their toy taken away. Now I know how my daughter feels when we tell her it's back to CAD. LOL. Now I get to do it with her. And DH, really. <sigh>
