G'Mornin, IFers,
I, too am savoring an egg cream. I used 2 eggs w/almond milk, scoop of whey protein powder, vanilla, c/o, cinnamon, and DaVinci's banana flavoring. I have no problem with the coconut oil with the cold ingredients. Seems I read that the egg yolk emulsifies the c/o, and it is smooth each time I use it. Of course, I nuke it first to liquid state. |

Happy Friday Morning IFers It's been very quiet here. Where is everyone?
The scale is now only 2/10 of a lb up from my lowest/signature number ![]() Yesterday I had two Egg Creams, one made with coffee, CO 2 eggs & a few squirts of DaVanci Carmel s/f syrup The other Egg Cream was made with diet cream soda, 1 T heavy cream & 2 eggs. I had a stuffed cheddar burger + 4 small squares of dark Chocolate for dinner. Scale is down 3/10 of lb today. Was hoping for more but I will take it. Today I will have the same menu since I have chopped meat leftovers from yesterday. Have a great Friday everyone Hugs, Barbara

G'Mornin, IFers,
Barbara, yes I thought it was a bit quiet around here, also. Congratulations on lowering that weight. Almost there, you are!! ![]() Yesterday, I planned on having two egg creams and a dinner, but couldn't do the second egg cream. I was too satisfied, and didn't want to rock the boat. I did have one in the late morning, then a pork dinner with cole slaw and tomatoes, but I did manage to keep my calories in a good range. Today, some electrical work is planned, so our electric will be turned off from 10 am till 2 pm. It just so happens we have plans to babysit our grandbaby in St. Augustine, so it works out fine. I'll make an egg cream w/two eggs before we leave, so that should sustain me until I eat again later in the day. Need to get my e mail sorted, then get ready and see our Olivia Grace. Have a wonderful Friday, and I'll see you all later today.

HI everyone,
I've had a cold and been EXTREMELY busy and haven't been posting, but am back on the wagon. I had my daughter take a picture of me in a red bikini. Let's just say it was a "before" picture, and it has gotten my butt in gear. Hope everyone has a great IF day! Theresa |

Just popping in to say good morning, I'm in for a busy day at work, but I will be back to post later.
Still doing the egg cream challenge, then eating solid food during a two hour window at night. So far, so good. |

Barbara- Congrats on losing! I'm so glad the whoosh fairy paid you a visit.
Gracie- Have fun with the grandbaby. Theresa- How brave to take the pic in the bikini. lol I'm not going anywhere near a bikini.... too scary. haha Jennifer- I have been using some egg creams, as well. Good luck with the challenge. I am fighting a cold, not sure if I'm winning, but have been doing all I can to kick this. Good nutrition, vitamins, extra sleep, etc. I guess you can't avoid catching something when you have 2 kids in school. TTYL

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well.
I would say I have made a few bad choices over the past few days which has annoyed me. The next four days I am going to spend detoxing. I am only going to eat fruit and drink water and herbal teas. I really want to get rid of cravings and clear myself out! You may say I'm having a spring clean haha. So I'll let you all know how I get on. |

that's so funny you guys said I was brave in the bikini. I was in my famiy room bribing my 14 yr old DD to take a picture, and believe me as soon as that was done I got dressed really fast.
I'm so glad I did that though, I just think I was kidding myself that I really didn't look that bad at this weight. so now I know!!!! I want to try an egg cream tomorrow, but where do you get Davinci's syrup? Theresa |

HI everyone! It's been such a long week. . .sorry I haven't stopped in to post.
![]() I am happy to say that I've stuck to my plan to do Fast-5 for this whole week. It has been easy to do it at work. . .no one has seemed to notice that I don't eat during *lunch* I wait until classes end for the day. I open my window about 2:30 each day. It's funny all this talk about egg creams lately. . .I was using them in the summer for breakfast and/or lunch and sometimes even as a snack. So delicious and FILLING! I never made mine with cream, only water, as I was watching my calories ( a little too much, but that's another story). But I've been using them again lately and just love them! Here's what I've been doing: I whip up an egg cream in my magic bullet in the morning, then screw the lid on and toss my bullet in my bag. . .yes, I take it to work! I keep my egg cream in the fridge all day at work. Then when I'm ready to open my window, I nuke my egg cream, and whip it in my bullet to get it all frothy again. It's a great way for me to open my window, because I get really full. I haven't tried them cold yet. . .I like 'em hot. Here's how I've been doing them this week: 2 eggs 2-3 T half & half 1 T coconut oil 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (Nectar brand, 0 carbs, 0 fat) small splash egg nog DaVinci's (or vanilla, but then I add a few good shakes of cinnamon, too) 6-8 oz hot coffee Results? Well, nothing nearly as good as the OP on the 10-day egg cream experiment thread. However, today TOM started, and I am usually UP about 1-2 pounds on the first day of TOM. This morning I was down a whole pound! This doesn't happen in my world. Usually I see a little whoosh on about day 3 or 4 of TOM. I'm anxious to see what happens this time.On the flip side, tomorrow is a weekend day (duh) and I struggle with too much kitchen access on the weekends. I'd hate to undo all of this egg cream/Fast-5 success from the week. . .I need to stay strong! That's all for tonight. Have a great night, IFer's!!

Hi IFers,
We spent a lovely day with our grandbaby! My, she is getting cuter and cuter and smarter and smarter! Had an eggnog before we left this morning, and then had a small lunch of hamburger. As soon as we came home, I made another eggnog, and I'm satisfied for the night. I am loving the simplicity of this eggnog regimen, and oh, btw, I stepped on the scale this morning before we left, and I was already down .5 lb. from my siggy weight, so that gives me enough incentive to keep it up. We have a bowling tournament tomorrow and Sunday. Of course, I got a sub to take my place, and I'm going along for the ride and to socialize with friends. I intend to stay the course while away even though I won't be able to have my eggnog. I may not get the chance to come back here this evening, so, I'll see you all on Sunday. Have a great weekend! ![]() |

Hi all!
Just a quick hello, I am swamped at the moment with work and financial stuff. I did have a lunch date today (I know, I quit dating!) with someone who I used to talk with about three years ago. We never met (I was dating someone else) and he recently found me, and we've been e-mailing again. It was nice to finally meet him after all this time. ![]() I am going to read about the egg cream a little more! Have a good night all! Rachel |

Good evening everyone.
I'm starting to think, and see evidence that Eat Right 4 Your Type is right for me. I'm an O and IIRC that's lots of meat and heavy exercise/activity. I definitely appreciate meat (went to a buffet last night and got pot roast, angus filet, turkey, and a fried drumstick as the main parts of my meal. I do like some of the other stuff, but thanks to McKenna I'm letting go of my 'need' to eat tons of veggies - unless they are the kind I really love. Luckily a lot of the ones I do like are low-carb. I'm not really a big fruit eater, but I do appreciate it when I get it. As for some of the other things I like, true love/inspiration ala McKenna is helping me be super-selective about it, so the amounts are going down. Asking if I am really hungry is helping, too. The Metformin is messing w/ that a bit with regards to IF timing, but I'm trying not to obsess so much. After the buffet last night I really couldn't foresee being hungry this morning, but I got so hungry on the way to breakfast that I almost threw up. I had a few sips of coffee at the restaurant we went to and I was fine. I really wasn't hungry enough to eat, but did see this delectable muffin that I took home for later. Anyway. So, I've noticed that I love meat and I see that I'm eating it because I love it, not because it's an integral part of LC. The activity also. I love long walks, physical labor like yard work, etc. I find that I lose weight better when I'm doing these kinds of things. I did them a lot more when I was younger, but with my bad back have limited myself. I don't want to push it too far, but I am enjoying adding more of these things into my days. I've decided to put more meat in my day, pick the veggies I love the most, etc.. Not because I'm going back to LC, which I'm not .. yet.. I'm also going to give that egg cream a try. Sounds more interesting than just a protein shake to replace a meal. And, I'd get my morning coffee, too. I figure if I do it this way I'll get back to maybe 75% LC and that's probably best right now. It's a shopping weekend. Going to the warehouse store so I can get good quantities of meat and I've been craving extra sharp cheddar lately. ![]() I hope everyone has a great weekend. Check back in in a few days.

Happy Saturday IFers I had two egg creams yesterday along with my stuffed cheddar burger. I also snacked a little too much yesterday but the scale was kind with A.M. & I'm finally back to my signature weight. So with the Egg Creams I'm down 1/2 lb in two days which is great for me since it's taken two full weeks to see the 3.6 lb that came on due to Easter & friends visiting come off again. Now I'm on to the place where I am aiming for goal weight or close to it by Memorial Day. Wish me luck.
NM_Jennifer I think your idea of weighing once a week will work great for you. Mommie22boys Sounds like the Egg Creams are working nicely for you also. Sazzie ![]() Yeah on seeing your signature # again. KUTGWMelissaF Sounds like you are getting a good handle on what will work for you. Rachel Hope you enjoyed the lunch date. Will you be giving the Egg Creams a try this week? QuirkyRabbit Has your computer been fixed yet? Has the scale been kind since vacation? Missalissa, Confession, Theresa, Xbumblebeex, Meeha, CarolinaSweetie & the rest of the gang. Will BBL to check in. Barbara |

I am down 1.6 lbs. from my siggy weight! You gals can understand my excitement, I'm sure. I've been struggling since September 06, and now I'm seeing the results I've been waiting for....... I won't post my stats yet........think I wanna wait till the 140s.....omgoodness!! |

On another thread someone mentioned the book: Secrets of a Former Fat Girl,
the website is: Former Fat Girl by Lisa Delaney Amazon had good reviews of this book: What interests me the most about this book is that the author has kept off 70 lbs for 20 years. There are probably ideas/mind tricks to handle our journey. Barbara ![]() |

Evening, everyone!
![]() We had a busy day here, so I didn't need to worry about having too much kitchen access like I usually do on the weekends. I did manage to have one cup of coffe this morning. I ran some regular Saturday errands (bank, library, grocery store) in the morning and then we all left to get the boys haircuts, some new spring clothes (DS#1 is growing like a weed), sneakers, and we got the boys each a new bike. They're so excited! Anyway, in all of that we went to Roadhouse for lunch. My window opened about 1:50 and I had: a few peanuts, the toppings from one of their loaded baked potato pieces, and about 3/4's of my chicken BLT salad (with bacon-blue cheese dressing), and 2 diet Coke's with lemon. I was nicely full, but not stuffed. We didn't get home until almost 7:00. So I made myself a protein shake for dinner using: 2 egg yolks (in honor of the egg cream I didn't have today), 3/4 cup almond breeze, 1/4 cup h&h, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 2 oz cream cheese, a splash of vanilla DaVincis, 1/2 tsp royal dutch cocoa and 1 tsp jello cheesecake-flavored mix. OMGoodness. . .so delicious! I usually use 1/4 cup egg beaters, but with the 2 egg yolks, it was soooo much thicker and creamier! Like a milkshake for dinner! So that was it for me for the day. I picked up 2 books at the library this morning that I had on hold: Good Calories, Bad Calories, by Taubes, and The Diet Cure, by Ross. I brought the Ross book with us today to read in the car. . .very interesting stuff. It has me wondering about my calories. I really have no idea how many I eat in a day. I suppose that's not really good, considering I'm trying to lose weight. But really, I wonder even more now that I'm only eating in a measured window. Hmmm. . .I'll keep reading. I'm excited to see what these two books have to offer. In other news: I'm actually down 2.0 pounds today, on this, DAY 2 of TOM. Seriously. This is not my usual pattern. I always go up on day 1 and don't see a whoosh until day 3-4. Wonder if it's the egg creams, somehow. . .???But don't worry. I'm not complaining. Have a great night, girls! |
