I totally agree about the Cheeto highway! Once you turn off on that road, it's hard to find the off ramp!

Congrats on your 50 minutes of exercise yesterday. Keep it up, you are doing great!

The numbers went back up & added 20 to 30 more lbs each time. I'm hopeful this time around that my WOL will stay consistent. I don't intend to change anything I'm doing now once I reach goal. I'll always follow LC & have occasional "indulgence" days, vacations with off plan eating days, etc. For me, I always have to remind myself to be constantly vigilant and not get too comfortable thinking I can have whatever I want & not see the scale head in the wrong direction.
The last time I had lost a 50 lb loss the weight gain sort of snuck up on me. One lb a month. At the end of the first year I was up 12 lbs (I thought no biggie, I'll get it off quick). By the end of the 2nd year the scale was up 24 lbs. Before I knew it the lbs came back on faster & faster.
I made a promise to myself this time around that I was going to get to goal & keep it off for my lifetime. That's why I find this thread so valuable as a way for me to be accountable & with folks who have the same challenges in their journeys.
I guess KISS is the way to approach maintenance.
Missalissa, thanks for being an inspiration to all of us, you always keep it real.

Sometimes it just make me wanna go ! I know it's not that hard, I know what to do, but sometimes it just makes me ~

Just wanted to let y'all know that I am still checking in each day and reading your wonderful/funny (Cheeto Highway!)/ and real-life posts. I ran into a real-life issue in that I work three days a week 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Unfortunately I am not a health care professional because they work SO hard during their long hours - I just sit at a computer!). I find that on those three days it is very difficult to wait until late in the day to open my window, so I am just LCing those days, and IFing to the best of my ability on my four days off.

I am not being perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I am so much better than any other time in my life! I never imagined that slips didn't automatically equate binge and eventually giving up! So the pounds are coming off slowly, but they ARE coming off. More importantly I feel so great! Again, thanks for sharing through your posts, and know that us 'lurkers' are gaining only benefit from your honesty!

Peace,
Katy
209/191/140ish would be great.

P.S. I consider the weight that I have lost so far as Katrina weight! Gone! Now onto moving to New Orleans weight, then post-pregnancy weight (he's seven and a half, by gosh, time to get it off), then just my always-been-a big-girl weight!

Hi Katy, there are some that have done the fast-5 but not every day. Lisabinil only does the fast-5 a couple days a week and then just low carb the other days. She posts on here ever so often. If you need to not fast on those days, then don't.

I actually have 2 days that I adjust my window. The days that I do kickboxing I CANNOT eat before or after the class. Makes me really ! I just adjust my window accordingly.

Just do whatever feels right.

Congrats on losing the Katrina weight! Good luck with the NO weight and PP weight!

Katy I was a lurker for several months before I decided to post. I just love this thread because everyone is supportive & nonjudgemental. We all "tweak" or do our own plans & we are accepting of everyone even if they don't do IF or FAST5.
As Missalissa mentioned you can adjust your FAST5 hours to suit your work schedule on those days or just keep doing what you're doing.
Great that you're making progress, Congratulations.

Scale stayed the same today which is good. Went to the gym for an hour. I had some soup again in the afternoon and then a nice salad for dinner plus a wee sweet treat to finish it off!

Jennifer- Cheeto Highway...

Missa- You must be getting fitter if you aren't as sore. Good job.

I love the comment about 15 minutes. I am very into exercise, and I love how it makes me feel more energetic and strong.. It is definitely worth the time I put into it!

Barbara- The whoosh Fairy visited, but only stayed for a little bit. I only dropped 2 pounds last week, and will see if it holds. I think I need to keep shaking things up a bit if I want to keep losing.

Three full days of juice fasting and I felt wonderful. Energetic, very focused. Not at all obsessed with food.

G'Mornin, IFers,

A quick peek in to say hi to all of you. Before the day really starts in full swing, I want to get some paperwork done, so I'll be back in a bit to see how you're all doing.

Happy Wednesday Morning IFers I walked in the mall yesterday for 50 minutes wearing my Chung Shi toning sneakers. Wow, I could feel just about every blood vessel in my thighs & butt pulsing. I usually only walk for 30 minutes but read that 50 minutes of walking is the "ideal" so I tried that & really felt a difference.
I had more of an appetite yesterday so ate some more fat and the scale went up 4/10 of a lb.,

CarolinaSweetie Did you get rid of the sniffles?
How was your Mom's party?

Will BBL to check in with everyone
Have a great day, Barbara

Hi everyone! Long time no see. I've been busy and avoiding y'all because I don't feel good about how I've been doing. Still trying to keep to McKenna. Not perfect, but still tweaking. Scale is up a few pounds, but it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I find myself being more active, doing mall walks, etc (have one this morning) and I do think it's helping. Had my minivan die on me (only had it 4 months) so we're donating it. We can't afford to get anything else for a while, so we're having fun figuring out the transportation around here.
Time to get the kids up to go walking..
Take care and I will try to come in and check on y'all more than I have lately.
HUGS!

Good Morning All,
I have decided to join the IF crew. This is Day 1 for me and I am excited and scared at the same time. Excited to try something new but scared that I might not do it right. I try to drink at least 101.40 oz of water a day so that should help with keeping me full until I eat.

Questions????

How do you make sure you're eating enough calories during your window?

Are you counting calories?

TIA

Welcome meeha! Great to see you here! I do count my calories just to make sure I am getting enough. I used to track everything in fitday, but have been doing it so long, I can do most of it in my head now and come within 25 calories.

Drink your water. If you slip up and need to eat, go ahead, the key is to keep trying and then it will just happen automatically. Don't try to overthink it. Man, now if I could only take my own advice!

Welcome, Meeha.

So yesterday, I had an egg cream for breakfast and another for lunch. The breakfast egg cream was with coffee, the lunch one was with diet cream soda. Yummy! Then for dinner, I ate a serving of the pasta dish I made, but I didn't overeat, and I didn't keep snacking all night. I'm down a pound this morning.

This morning, I didn't have an egg cream because I just wasn't hungry. I'm going home for lunch to have one, but I'm thinking if I do an egg cream for lunch and then a healthy dinner, that will put me in about a six hour window and I won't overeat if I'm opening the window with the protein and fat in the egg cream.

There's talk of an egg cream challenge over in the Main Lobby, and I'm probably going to join that. Those guys have some great recipes to tweak the egg cream! Someone made one with diet orange soda and said it was like an orange creamsicle.

I also exercised for 50 minutes yesterday. I'm going to just keep plugging away and hope that I can stay on track.

NM_Jennifer Good for you on the 1 lbs down. Let me know when you see a thread for the challenge.

Meeha, I don't track my calories formally but have a good idea of the calories I consume per day. You can always use Fitday if you need to. I would take Missalissa's advice.

Barbara,

I am feeling so well, thank you.

It's hard to believe that just a short time ago, I couldn't sit here for more than 5 minutes without having severe pain.

During that time, my eating went South. Either by eating too little because of the pain, and then in the last few days, eating too much. It's as if my body were trying to make up for lost time.

That is the main reason I joined the Egg Cream challenge. In all the years I've been here, I believe it may be the 1st or 2nd challenge I've ever joined.
As far as nutrition and hunger appeasement, I think the egg creams fill the bill perfectly, so I feel very confident it will work.
