Good Saturday to you all,
I was very busy this morning catching up with some house cleaning, and am so grateful that I finally am able to do it. Last night we went to an inlet restaurant, and speaking of artichoke hearts, I had a wonderful dish of the most tender hearts with shrimp and a large salad, and couldn't eat it all. I incorporated Paul McKenna's program, and am finding it rather easy to do. Made sure I put my fork down with each mouthful, and I have no problem chewing each mouthful 20 times. Andrea Don't know if I've welcomed you here, and sorry if I missed that. So welcome, and I know you'll enjoy our gang. Barbara That UTube video is a very good one. Thank you for sharing. There is another one I'd like to share with you all, if you are interested. I'll post it at the bottom of this post. Oh, that elusive Whoosh Fairy. She is a fickle creature, never knowing where she wants to plant her wings. I have some beautiful silver dust here she can have, but she must come and visit me for a while. Haven't seen her is a very very long while. My arm has improved so much, and all meds have been discontinued, and I'm extremely grateful to be feeling better each day. Thank you all for your prayers!! Have to do some food shopping today, and want to get that done before Mass this evening, so I'm off now. Wishing each of you a wonderful IF day.........

Good afternoon IFer's
![]() Sorry I didn't get in to post yesterday. But I am still sticking with IF. . .I feel really good doing it. I don't think about food all day long which is great! Yesterday I had some burger/spinach scramble and 10 raspberries (holy cow were they good!!) at 2:30 and then we went to my in-laws for dinner. My FIL had his knee replaced last week, so my DH wanted to bring out dinner for them. My FIL wanted CHINESE, of all things. I can't do chinese on this woe and still lose. So, I packed up a bowl of yocheese and some brie and had that. Something did, however, come over me and I had about 5 quarter-sized pieces of sesame chicken. I was finished eating by 6:00. This morning I was down 1.6. So my 3 pounds gone from earlier this week stuck, plus another .6 that I lost yesterday morning, for a grand total of 5.2 pounds gone since Sunday morning. I'm happy, but not celebrating yet. . .I'm still playing in the same weight range I have been since November. My high weight on Sunday was due mostly to poor choices over Easter. It's funny. . .at work during the week I drink coffee all morning and switch to water when that runs out (about lunch*time*). I have it with half & half. I have been attributing my ability to *make it* to my window (2:30) b/c of the fat in the h&h. (I know. . .not truly fasting if I'm having coffee w/ h&h, but it's been working) The thing that's funny is that I haven't had any coffee at all today, and I'm not really starving. Hmmm. . .interesting. Not sure if I'll be able to give up the cuppa joe at school (I'm a teacher, not a student ), though.Ragdoll: I'm not sure if I'll have the egg cream or not. Right now I'm not really in the mood, but I've got 45 minutes to figure it out. I may want it by then. If I do have it, it will be warm, though, b/c I'm kinda chilly today. I'll keep you posted. Gracie: Thanks for the welcome! Well, took the 2 DS's to the library and to the store for a birthday present (they're going to a party tomorrow at the YMCA) this morning. I got groceries while we were there, so I have to go put things away and make them lunch. Later, girls! ![]()

Gracie- Glad to see things are getting better with your shoulder. It's rough to get very behind on the housecleaning.
Rachel- Good job on making it to the gym. Barbara- I haven't been doing much more with the McKenna than I was. I have been eating slowly and trying to pay attention for the full feeling, but that is about all I am using. I really like the EFGT. It gives me plenty of room to use various veggies, and fruit like berries. I find that in order to lose with EFGT, or any LC program I have to track my calories... otherwise I will only maintain.( Those calories just add up too easily, and I can fool myself.) I find that I get along better with a higher protein percentage than some of the EFGT girls. I think this may be due to all the exercise that I do in a week, so my body needs more for repairs. ?

Barbara: Thanks for the congrats. . .however, yesterday's loss didn't stick.
Not that I'm surprised. I opened my window poorly yesterday, and it went downhill from there. I tried to make up for it with just a protein shake for dinner, but I guess I had too much ground to cover to make up for it. Moral of the story: I should'a had an Egg Cream!! ![]() Today it will be a challenge to eat in my window. The DS's have a birthday party at the YMCA at 2:30, then I need to go to the mall an exchange a pair of shoes I got for my birthday, AND I need to swing into work to put together my sub plans for tomorrow. Bleah. Since I usually open my window at 2, I may have to whip up an egg cream and take it with me on the hoof while I run around. I don't really want to do that, though, b/c it isn't as enjoyable to "eat on the run." And if I'm waiting all day to start eating, I'd at least like to enjoy it. *sigh* I do have big plans for getting some cooking done this morning for the week. Yocheese, eggs, ground beef I have to use up today. . .gonna be busy! Have a great day! I'll try to check back in later. ![]() |

I would have a Egg Cream before leaving the house & then have a tasty dinner later even if you have to extend your eating window, it shouldn't make that much of a difference. Extending your window for a day here or there from 5 hrs. to 6, 7 or 8 hrs. shouldn't be cause for concern. I wouldn't stress over it, "it is what it is" and it's real life that we have to accommodate into our WOE. Eating good nutritious foods for our health should be our primary concern. IF/FAST5 is just another tool for us to use on our journey. I personally won't let a day or two off my IF schedule make me feel that I have "failed" or lost my way. Good morning everyone.
McKenna is still going well. I'm not judging it as weight loss tool as I'm already at my goal range, but as a self esteem tool. I feel a lot better about myself when I am not overeating. I still do overeat once in a while--like last night at dinner, the waitress gave us free pie. But, at least I am thinking about my food (next time, I will have her box it up for me, take it home, and eat it later, when I am hungry.) My next body-related goal is to drop a couple percentages of body fat. I am happy with my scale weight, but due to my inconsistent exercise efforts from early last fall until now, I am not as toned as I'd like. So, my goal is to be more active and make it to the gym about three times a week. When the weather warms up, it will be easier to add walks at night but right now, it is still too cold. Barb, I am getting caught up at work after being gone--hopefully by Monday or Tuesday, I will be all caught up again. Time for coffee--have a fabulous Sunday! I hope it's spring where some of you are! |

Evening, everyone!
I am officially 4.2 pounds down from last Sunday, when I started IFing. I am committed to eating this way for at least the next week. . .or longer, if I continue to have success and feel good on this. I am hoping this is the key to getting me/keeping me back on track. I have been in the 150's since November. And, though I jumped up and down when I got here, some of the luster has started to wear off now, ya know? Well, I didn't ever have that Egg cream today, Barbara. Things got so busy getting the boys ready to go tho their party, I didn't get a chance to make anything before we left. Then I did all of my running around and never got home until 5:30. So here's how it all went down:(1:30): I had one taste of my homemade spinach dip, to be sure it tasted right. (5:45): 1 WASA cracker w/ some spinach dip (6:00): 2 devilled egg halves and a really awesome cheeseburger Cobb salad. Mmmmm. . . I did get a lot of cooking/prep done this morning, though. I cooked up a dozen eggs, put on some yogurt to strain, made up 3 different varieties of seasoned hamburger patties to throw into the freezer, made a batch of Dottie's burger scramble florentine and froze it in little individual serving-size portions, cooked up some taco meat to stash in the freezer and toss on a salad really quick, and made my spinach dip. Also picked up (Vitamin Shoppe) some CLO for the 2 DS's and some Stevia packets and J Robb protein powder packets for me. . .along with a few new items at Coldwater Creek (for me, too!!) ![]() All that, and I still had to make dinner when I got home tonight. ![]() Have a great week! |

Last night I watched I CAN MAKE YOU THIN. The show & host is very enthuastic & one can't helped but get into the excitement. I thought it was interesting that McKenna said that scientist say that anything we measure/track will keep us involved more. I have to find my pedometer. I also think that tracking the scale #'s can be motivating except for those times when the numbers are not going in the right directions. For me when I avoid the scale, I can get off track easily so I like to be accountable. Will check back later to see how everyones doing. Barbara |

Good Monday morning peeps! DH had the weekend off, so we just had some family down time. Was great.
Rachel, I am with you on the lowering of body fat %. That is going to be my focus for right now. Tone up and drop fat %. Barbara, I'm still working on the maintenance plan. This week, it's going to be simple. Atkins, that's it. Will be playing with CCL to see what works best. Next week might be a different story, who knows! Kickboxing again tonight. Looking forward to it and the burn the comes with it! Have a great IF day everyone!

Good morning, IFers! Hope everyone had a nice weekend.
I just came from the Main Lobby where I read the threads on egg creams, and I think I'm finally ready to try this. My plan is to open my window with one of these. Lately, I don't have much self control once the window is open I just eat whatever is there, without much thought about nutrition, calories, etc. I'm thinking that this will keep me satisfied so that I don't go crazy eating whatever I want and then I can plan for a nice, healthy dinner. I'm working out like crazy (100 minutes total yesterday: a brisk 30 minute power walk with the dog and 70 minutes on the elliptical), yet I can't seem to control my eating very well and so I continue to gain. I'm aware of it, but I keep doing it! I'm very frustrated with myself. The weird thing is, during a juice fast, I don't even think about food. I can go to lunch with my friends and just sit and drink tea or water, no problem. It's when I start eating that I turn into a binge monster. I hope I can find a way to stop that cycle, I know it's not healthy.

Hello you all! My computer is sick and in the hospital, (yippee! After the initial shock and withdrawal, I'm thrilled to have a life back!) So, now that I'm back at school, I guess I'll get back on-track. I ate eggs for breakfast and I'm not sure how I plan to proceed cuz I'm monitoring myself on many levels.
I have continued to have palpitation problems, and am not sure why, but they make me nervous. So, until I have a better handle on all that . . . well, I dunno. Meanwhile, i think about you all and miss you, and I'm tickled that the school computer doesn't block you out -- yet. But I really don't have much time to get online. So, know I'm thinking about y'all and sending you good, slenderizing vibes. XOXOXO Q

Rachel- Losing fat % sounds like a great goal.
Barbara- I agree with McKenna that keeping track keeps me involved. If I write down weight and track calories, then I am less likely to get too far off track. We can fool ourselves more easily when we don't write it down. Bumblebee- Congrats on getting the weight back off. Andrea- That does sound like quite the busy day! Missalissa-- Are you still getting as sore the day after kickboxing? QR- Don't you just hate when your computer is "sick"? Bummer. Jennifer-- Oh, that Binge Monster can be a tricky one to tame. He sneaks up on me sometimes, too. LOL |

Hi IFers,
Looks like you're all doing quite well, and that's a good thing to read. Only have a couple of minutes to post, as we've had our house guest here, and he and my hubby stepped out for a bit, but will be back shortly. We're really enjoying ourselves here, and even though I love my computer, having Al here is keeping me from being on too much. Sometimes, that's a good thing. I will check in tomorrow when I have more time. Have a great night, and to each of you! |

Hi all!!
Loved last night McKenna show. My new mantra is no pain, no pain! And my new goal is to simply hit 6000 steps a day. I was thinking about the fact that there's only 15 minutes between my heavier self and my lighter self each day. I can add 15 minutes here and there throughout my day!! Yeah!! NMJennifer, maybe you are doing compensatory eating to "make up" for your fasts? Not on purpose, but maybe your body is trying to grab more nutrients? Or a different kind of nutrients? I am probably totally wrong here, but it may be an avenue to think about? Okay time for coffee and then I've got to finish my taxes!! I am also working on refinancing my townhouse. Got lots of stuff going on right now but wanted to say hello!! |
