Maintenance is going pretty well right now. I think I'm finally getting the hang of it! My scale keeps jumping the same 3 pounds but I'm pretty sure it's because I went back on BCP.

Love the Jared quote!

Got back from my first therapy session a bit ago, and was extremely pleased with the therapist.

She went over my history and talked awhile, then she started me on shoulder strengthening techniques. Seems that I am compensating a lot with my neck muscles. When she pointed that out to me, and mimicked my actions, it was so clear. So, I will be going for about a month 2-3x a week, and will be doing some core exercises at home. Nothing strenuous, just easy 'aware' type of posture positions against the wall and sitting.

Oh, and I got the go ahead to try to bowl to see what it feels like, and if there is any strain whatsoever, just stop.

Good day, today is!

Happy May Day, IFers,

May Day!! Wow, sure does bring back good memories of when I was a child and the May Procession at school where the gals dressed up in their pretty white dresses and escorted the Blessed Mother down the streets of our little neighborhood in So. Philly.

Anyway, back on topic: I've set another mini goal for myself, and I will do it.
I expect to weigh 148 lbs. by Memorial Day. Now, I realize that is a small amount, but with my history, I am being realistic. It's amazing that for my height, I'm not looking bad, but not looking as good as I'd like. Maybe one of the reasons I've not shed more is I am always getting compliments from my husband. That positive reinforcement is good, but also opens a door of complacency. I feel good and in order to feel even better, I will shed more fat and become even more fit.
I am posting this for my own accountability.
I hope this hasn't bored you all, but it did me good!

Sazzie I like your thoughts on a reasonable number for Memorial Day. If the scale shows an even lower #, I'm sure you'll take that as well.
I am making a goal of 130 lbs by Memorial Day. Last night I even turned down an invitation to meet a friend at a Chinese Restaurant. I had already finished my food for the day & realized that joining my friend at the restaurant would lead to temptations that I didn't want to give into. I'm tired of the scale bouncing back & forth for the past month. The minute I start to see progress something always comes up & I usually allow myself indulgences. It has to stop if I ever want to see goal. That said, I will be visiting a friend who is very ill on May 10 & travelling on May 11 to return home. I will make every effort to watch the indulgences on May 10th & 11 but know I won't be 100% on plan. For the next 9 days it's clean eating for me.
Have a great day everyone.
Hugs,
Barbara

Hi!

Sazzie- I think you are smart to set a realistic goal- that is what I was trying to do also, when I started at 240 on jan 6, I was hoping to be down to around 210 by Memorial Day....well, I am down another 2 lbs today and am at 221 lbs- so maybe I can make it??? I know it is 11 lbs, but I would be so ecstatic to be able to meet me original goal- this protein shake diet seems to be working really well for me

Ragdoll- I hope your friend is going to be ok- it is so hard to see people we care about ill like that....you are making great progress- you look very slender in your photo
Well, the summer approaching is great incentive for me- I need to be able to get into those swim shorts by the end of the month- I can stay strong on this since I am seeing some results- I am going to not drink the shakes on the weekend and eat low carb- I already have a steak marinading for the grill!!
Have a great day everybody- take care

YOU GO GIRL! I'm so proud of you! We're like the tortoise and the hare -- and I think you might beat me!!! We both have the same goal, but yours has been a fantastic challenge! Not only that, but you look terrific!

I hit 130 again on Friday . . . probably for 5 minutes. So I think it'll be this week that I break the evil scale and get into the 120s for the first time in years. So long as I get under that and stay under that, at my age, I'm happy. Further, I again failed to win the lottery, so a facelift (which would be necessary if I get below 125) isn't in the books.

You keep going girl. I want to beat you and get there before you do, but I think that you'll win the race. What the heck, so long as we BOTH get there, that makes me happy! I know we can do it!

Hugs

PS: A northern friend always sang "Hooray hooray, the first of May. Outdoor, .. . um, er, . . kissing . . . begins today!" Makes me smile every May 1.

Well, did I ever make a nice mistake!

For whatever reason, I decided to get on the scale again about a half hour later after I posted, and I was up only .4 of a lb. instead of 1.5 lbs. Big difference for that ego of mine.

So, I changed my siggy weight to reflect that weight, and I will change it to reflect any changes, as I haven't done that in the past; only to show a significant amount.

I'm still keeping away from those cheese crisps for awhile, though!
