For those doing the Dr. Thompson's Low GI plan

What is the GI level of a chocolate candy bar or a white chocolate candy bar? I remember I read in one book that had a list of GI for foods the chocolate candy was considered low and then fruity candy (like skittles and jelly beans) had a high GI. But if I remember right it was the plain chocolate or the chocolate candy with some sort of protein in it (nuts or PB) but the ones with caramel had a higher GI.?
well what if I had sugar free candy? would that lower the GI.? well I would appreciate the help in figuring this out. thanks
