I haven't been around. Haven't been reading the December thread. Haven't been 'dieting'. It's been so freeing. I find myself trying mainly to eat healthfully, balanced, not stuffing myself, not eating when I'm not hungry, etc. Just trying to be mindful, as opposed to obsessed. I've swung back to a slight IF now that I'm watching hunger levels a bit more. Nothing organized, nothing formal. Not for now. Not for the foreseeable future. So far no weight regain, go figure. LOL.
I'm going to lurk, cheer y'all on, etc. Hope that's ok. I can't 'name' what I'm doing right now. I'm opposed to 'dieting' so I need to avoid that state right now. If there are days that still qualify as IF, great. That's all I'm prepared to admit to. Maybe low-glycemic 80% of the time, too. That's just common sense for me as a diabetic. Not doing at least that makes me feel like crap real fast.
Anyway. I want to send Happy New Year and Happy New You vibes to my friends doing IF. Here's to success in whatever we do, no matter what.
HUGS!!!

Happy New Year, all!

Sarah, thanks for the new post!

I am so ready to get back to an IF schedule, just lunch and dinner with coffee w/soy milk for breakfast.

Too much snacking over the holidays...luckily a few detox days here and there kept me on track. I had a high weight in December of 136 and a low weight of 131.8. I didn't keep an average weight, but I'm in a new low maintaining range of 131-132 as opposed to 135-136 earlier in the fall. That's a good thing. I am happy that I have made this progress, even though it sometimes feels like I am just stuck.

I thank all of you on this board for being so supportive and for being my friends! I look forward to finding out what 2008 will bring for all of us!

I start my new job tomorrow. There might be a welcome lunch. If so, I will choose the healthiest vegetarian option available. I will bring brown rice and fruit for lunch just in case I can eat there instead.

Rachel

Back in my armchair again after playing Suzy Homemaker today! Didn't get cleaning done because of my back but baked homemade lc bread, a lc Chocolate Truffle Torte and made chili cheese dip for my guys. I think I might have some problems tomorrow sitting in a chair all day-will have to see how it goes and of course bring my goofballs with me!

Hey Everybody !

Just a real quick note.....I am watching Biggest Loser, Season 5, and it should be a really intersting season ! While I have been watching, I jumped on my treadmill for my workout.

This is what I accomplished:

40 minutes total workout:

Total Distance = 3 miles
(I actually RAN, yes RAN the last whole mile !) 13 minute miles..my best yet !
5.0 incline and 6.0 speed the entire time
465 calories burned
52 carbs burned

I am so psyched. and I feel great ! Buying this treadmill was the best decision I have made in a very long time......second only to choosing a LC lifetstyle......lol This has really kicked my exercise routine uo several notches and I am sure I will see much improved weight loss, along with overall shaping and toning ! Can't wait ! I also stayed on plan with my eating today and continue to follow my "Rotation Plan".

Rachel: I will be thinking of you tomorrow and sending my best thoughts and vibes out to you......I am sure you will do great ! Good Luck !

Barb: I sure enjoyed watching National Treasure......thanks so much for that info !

to all my other IF buddies ! Gotta run now and see the rest of Biggest Loser.....have a great evening all !

Happy New Year!

I can honestly say that if I hadn't found IF and this wonderful group I would have had the same resolution to "Lose Weight". Well, I'm already doing it and in part thanks to all of you, I am 100% sure that "Goal" is attainable this year!

Hope you all have had a lovely day and I hope tomorrow I'll have time for personals.

Happy New Year to Everyone! I hope everyone reaches their goal in 2008!!!

I have been out of town for a few days for my brother's wedding and I really missed this thread!!!! Everyone here is just so wonderful! I too am so happy I found this thread and have made these new friends! It's the BEST support I have ever had! I do want to make my goal finally for sure this time in 2008! I really think I will do it - because I have all these wonderful IF buddies here!

Rachel - Good Luck with your new job! What a smart plan you have to bring your lunch with you to be prepared just in case. I'm finding that being prepared in all situations is really helping me!

Barb- I'm so sorry your friend said horrible things like that to you. She must be jealous because you look great!!! I have told myself that whenever a friend or relative is mean to me - it almost always because they're jealous - but it still hurts sooooooo bad.

Carolinasweetie - You're doing so awesome on your new treadmill! that's great! You really inspire me! You made me want to start running right after I read your post, LOL!

Wow, the last few days have been very long. My 2 kids and I have stayed at my Mom's house the last few days - because my brother got married and my DD was the flower girl - and so there was rehearsal on sunday, then the wedding on monday - and my Mom thought because it was so late when the wedding ended that it would be a good idea for us to just stay another night and go home in the morning. I'm glad I did that because it was snowing very badly! The wedding was a lot of fun! I'm so GLAD to finally be home tonight. I unpacked all our bags, did some laundry, ate dinner with my kids and then saw my dh for just few minutes when he got home from work and before he went to sleep. The only thing I do not like - is when you get home and have to catch up on all your laundry, housework, grocery shopping, etc.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!

Raising my coffee cup to each of you for a successful and healthy 2008!!

Wasn't able to get here yesterday. Did too much partying New Year's Eve, and I paid for it yesterday.

Today is windy and a bit chilly, so will be settling in with some hot soup this afternoon.

A cup of hot soup sounds wonderful Gracie. Think I'll cook some chicken legs or thighs in a tomato sauce/chicken stock combo with a few herbs.

I ordered my favorite jeans from HSN this A.M. along with a new top.

Rachel Have a wonderful first day on the new job. Let us know how it goes.

CarolinaSweetie WTG with the treadmill. Glad you enjoyed the movie. I've been watching many movies to make up for all the one's I missed in the theater.

Lisabinil Hope you don't have much pain sitting at work today. Don't overdue, if you have pain ask to leave work early.

Morning All!

Carolinasweetie, you're doing AWESOME with your workouts! 5.0 incline at 6.0 speed the whole time????? No wonder you've been losing weight so fast! You put me to shame with my 2 mile stroll at 0 incline at 4.0. lol The one thing I have noticed on these boards is that the people that lose the most weight are the ones that have incorporated consistant exercise into their plans. You continue to inspire me.

Barbara, can I get the information on this movie website you've been talking about? I love movies but rarely have the time to get to the theater so there are tons of movies I never get to see.

Lisa, feel better!

Rachel, good luck with your new job today!

So, today is my first day back on IF since Christmas. I'm hungry. lol
I know the next few days will be tough until I get used to it again, but I can't wait for that "never hungry" feeling to come back.

Can I join your group? I've lost almost 50 pounds since mid-June but find that my weight loss has slowed and I need something new to get me motivated to finally get down to goal. I just read the Fast-5 ebook and also the information on Eades site. IF sounds like it may be just what I need to get me excited about losing again. Do most of you follow the Fast-5 rules of fasting except for a 5 hour window each day? I am thinking about doing 2-3 periods of 24 hour fasting each week. I am a night shift worker and normally get up around 9:30 PM and then eat a meat at the hospital cafeteria around 1:30 AM. I can get lots of raw vegetables, sunflower seeds, hard boiled egg whites and other lean protein from the salad bar there and also keep some Macnut oil in the refigerator to make a salad dressing along with lemon juice. On my fasting days, that meal would have to hold me until 1:30 the next morning. I would eat normally for at least one day before another fast. Does that sound like a workable plan? I noticed that on the Fast-5 plan it seems to encourage waiting as long as possible after your sleep time before eating. Is there a reason for that or is the time between eating the important thing? Any hints or ideas for getting started? I plan to start my first 24 hour fast Friday AM at 1:30.

stilldews! You are going to love IF and this thread. Great peeps here. Everyone here does it a little different. Timewise I mean. You are talking about both fast-5 and Eades blog. So you are going to try the 24/24?

If you have never fasted before, I would recommend doing Fast-5 at first. Sometimes it's difficult trying to make it 19 hours when first getting your body adjusted, much less the 24 hours that Dr. Eades did. Dr. Herring explains in the Fast-5 ebook how to ease into fasting, and not to worry if you don't make it, to just keep trying. It's going to be hard, hard, hard if you just try to jump into a 24 hour fast especially if you've never fasted before.

I agree with Missalissa. 19 hours was hard to wait at first. I've become accustomed to it now (especially since I changed my window from 4-9 to 3-8). The 5 hour window works great for me and I am continually losing at about a pound a week or so. I'm hoping to speed it along once summer gets here and I can ride a bike and stuff.

Just do
