Anybody doing Slim4Life?
I think S4L is only in the Denver, Kansas City and Minneapolis metro areas, but is anybody here doing it? I started DEcember 1st and as of this morning's weigh in, I'm down 13 lbs. I won't lie and say it happened easily, but it's not the torture I was expecting it to be. Seriously the hardest part for me has been walking past the goodie trays at work and not eating my daily dozen Christmas cookies that I'd normally be eating this time of year. I'm hoping January will be a little easier! My biggest + from this is my brain seems to have returned intact -- I am so much more clear headed and able to focus. I'm accomplishing a lot more at home and at work in the 3 short weeks I've been doing this because I can think clearly.
I still have a long way to go, my goal is to lose 108 lbs, but I feel really good about my progress thus far. I'd love to chat with other slim4lifers if there are any on this board. Susie in MN |

Hi Susie,
I started Slim4life on December 18th. And while I wasn't too jazzed about doing it right around the holiday's, it hasn't been a bad experience at all. I will admit that I have eaten a cookie or two, and a few chocolates, but the fact remains I have stuck to it. I'm still working on variety when it comes to my food. Do you find you have that issue? I'm thinking about buying the cookbook they offer, but they may insist I wait. My goal is 23 pounds, and I've dropped around 6-7 depending when I go for weigh in. That can be annoying since you do weigh less in the morning. But I've noticed it does average out and that poundage is coming off. I did find a great thread here about someone else that was doing Slim4life. Her boardname is, RadioBabe. I liked what she had to say, and you can search for her thread, or look for Slim4life to find out more. If I have any tips to share with you, I'll gladly do so. Oh! Have you made the baked apple yet? I'm going to try it for my lunch tomorrow. I did make the crab stuffed tomato, it was okay. I used canned instead of fresh, not thinking when I did it, and I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought, oh well, live and learn. ![]() Good luck!!! |

Hi Chansmom!
I started Dec 3rd... even with a good solid week of off plan (Dec 24th - Dec 30th) I am down 17 lbs now. I have a long way to go, my goal is 108 to lose. My miracle is that I'm not bored yet, one month into it. I'm so glad the holidays are over though! I'm glad I did it in December. I don't feel that I look different but my big thrill right now is that I can take a pair of jeans right out of the dryer, and put them on without unbuttoning or unzipping There was a time I had to lay on the bed and suck it in and grab that zipper to get those puppies on.Next week I'm going to start walking -- our community center offers a $5 pass for walking indoors at the high school on weeknights so I'm going to get one. I don't have the cookbook -- I've seen a few recipes in the S4L lobby and they really don't sound very appealing... I'll have to try a baked apple. I saved my starches for dinner tonight and had a whole baked potato with my lite margerine... it really was scrumptious. Funny how it tastes soooo good, even without sour cream, bacon and loads of cheese. Hope you have a successful weekend! |

I'm so glad you're doing well! I've been doing fine, but I have to wonder why in the heck I'm not losing as fast as I was told I would. My goal is 23 pounds, and they told me I've dropped 6. No way! My scale as of today says I'm down 9 pounds. Granted, I will lose it a bit slower, but this is ridiculous.
The person weighing me did tell me their scale is two pounds heavier. And, I'm down a half a pound, but c'mon! I suppose patience is what I need and long walks. I haven't had the time for those in a few weeks, so getting off my butt is next. ![]() Here's to you reaching your goal!!! Oh, and me too. ![]() |
