Thanks for the info. I will look that up and try to get some help. I havent lost any weight for 11 days on this. I can't figure out what I am dong wrong. I lost the first 4 days, haven't lost for 11 days and only have 6 days left of my 21 days I paid for. Its very discouraging. The Dr. can't seem to tell me what I'm doing wrong either. I'm drinking 2 liters a day, measuring my food. I believe the hcg is working because I'm not hungry and I no longer have any arthritis symptoms. I know this diet works I just need to figure out how to get it to work for me.

Kdee I haven't received my hcg yet but expect it soon. I just want to get the last 10 lbs off.
From my reading on the various sites it seems that certain dosage amounts work better for different folks. Also you have to be very careful not to mix veggies (just one per meal). They also want you to be careful with checking that there are no additives in the spices you use. Also watch the makeup/hair products to make sure they don't have fat in them. Is your Doctor giving you Relena? If so check what dosage he is giving you. For example 5000 iu amp & a 166 cc mixture with the solution twice a day. If you are not taking Relena ask what dosages he is giving you?
When ordering HCG, it is best to use 5,000 IU when making sublingual. The potency will last about 30 days, or more.
The instructions from MyHCGJourney say: Here's what I usually suggest. Start your first two doses with 200IU per day. That's 100IU in the morning, and 100Iu in the evening. Then I usually tell them to take 100 in the morning (20 units on the insulin syringe) and 75 in the evening (15 units on the insulin syringe). If this works well, the next morning take 15 units in the morning and 15 in the evening. This will give you 150 IU for the day. Only one person that I have started this way didn't do well on 150 and had to bump back up to 200 IU per day. Each body is different, but most respond the same to hCG. All the mixing instruction can be found at MYHCGjourney. Hope this info helps

Another person using the Hcg protocol here

I am doing a short (23 injections) round and will begin Phase 3 October 1st. I started September 6th and have lost 10.4 lbs. I am on my 9th VLCD today. I was 149.1 after loading for two days and I am currently 138.7 today. My all time high weight was 170 before finding Atkins.

I researched this protocol for a couple of months before deciding to give it a go and ordering the Hcg and supplies. I got a lot of my info from the same links already listed in this thread.

I will pop in periodically to update my progress through Phase 2 this month and then Phase 3 in October.

I'm so happy to have found this thread! I've been a member of LCF for a long time and love this forum!

Good luck to all of you who are also on the plan! I enjoy reading your posts and hearing how you are doing. Keep up the good work!

After those first few days of being hungry the last 3 days have been great. I am not hungry at all. I didn't eat my first meal until 1:30 today. I decided to try 1 egg and 2 egg whites. I scrambled these with just salt and pepper. With that I had 7 strawberries and a handful of grape tomatoes. I have drank 1 cup of coffee, 60 oz of water and 16 oz of green tea.

I see a lot of you do this by ordering over the internet. I was curious how much it cost you? My doctor gave me a RX for this and it cost me 110 dollars for the hcg and needles, syringes, alcohol swabs. It all came in a packet from the pharmacy. It will last for 30 days and then I will go on to phase 3 for 6 weeks before starting another round of hcg if needed.

I hope all of you are having success too.

Sherrie

Oral HCG is the same HCG that everyone is ordering. It is mixed w/ a clear Liquor ( from what I read most chose vodka) and it is held under the tongue for 10-15 mins.... called sublingually ( spelling)

You only need syringes for mixing, not the daily syringes for injecting but you DO Need twice as much HCG because you need to dose TWICE a day with this.

A GREAT thing for those afraid to give themselves shots!

If you go to the files section of the Yahoo group there is a mixing directions and supplies list for both types of "delivery" systems!

Thanks, Sissie and Cowgirl! I know to most it was "just a goat" but I am mom , not a pet owner We bought her and her sister in one cold March night, because the mom didnt' want her sister and was head butting her. Me and DD ( about 9-10 at the time) took turns holding them in our arms, cradle style and bottle feeding them. Her little hooves would come up and hold the bottle. My heart just aches that she isn't here any more but knowing the fear she felt just consumes me!

Cowgirl: The endurance /stamina thing isn't weird, it is completely normal....that is one of the reasons Dr. S says NOT to start an exercise program during protocol....if you body is use to working out, continue but not to start! Glad to hear about the energy though, I can't stand to lose any more of that!

Pray4fire: yes this is getting weird! LOL! How are you feeling today??? Better I hope! We are here for you if you need to vent some of that depression away!

4gotn1~to me my furbabies are part of our family. We lost our eldest Shepherd June 21 and my bird 4 days later, totally unexpectedly. I still tear up when I speak about either one of them. And the love we have for and from our animals is special. Hugs to you.....

Virgo and Simbus~congrats!!! Shimbus, that sounds good, the scrambled egg whites. I am sticking to the protocol diet the doctor gave me..I am tooo scared to try anything new. But what has made me happiest of all, is the foods I am eating, I am enjoying and will be happy to eat OFF the diet.

I called my doctor this morning to ask her about my weight not budging since Sunday. She said we all hit plateaus at different times and it was normal to hit one this quick. She said if I go 4 days or more without a loss to call her again.

One thing she has been adamant about is keeping my sodium levels up. So I am salting my food and trying to drink plenty of teas with stevia to curb the hunger.

Shimbus, was it you that said you have had a lot of hunger??

4gotn1 ~ The image of you and your daughter bottle feeding the baby goats is too cute! I understand how torn up you must be over a bear getting one of your kids. I had ducks that I raised from chicks on our pond until a coyote killed three out of four of them one night. It was just terrible. Hang in there - I really hope you feel better soon!

pray4fire ~ How did today go for you? I've been thinking about you and hoping you made it through the day on protocol. I'm on Day 9 and it really just got easy the last two days. I really struggled to get in the groove of this. I haven't had any "real" hunger but the mental thing is tough. Just remember it isn't forever...

shimbus ~ Isn't it great once those cravings pass? How long are you going this round? I will go find my receipts and see what I paid for my Hcg and supplies. I ordered everything online from links at the Yahoo group.

sissie35 ~ Here's hoping the scale moves for you tomorrow! Plateaus do happen even on this plan - worse yet sometimes the scale actually goes the 'wrong' way even when you are doing everything right. I read a million posts on Yahoo before starting myself so I've seen plenty of frustrated people when it happens. Hang in there and it will start moving for you again soon.

Hello to everyone else here as well!

Terri

sissie35 - I did have a lot of hunger for days 2-5. I have no hunger now. It's hard to believe!

Virgobaby - I read the yahoo posts every day too. Lots of opinions on there and variations of the diet. I am sticking strickly with the protocol except adding in 1 egg with 2 egg whites now and then. I am going 26 days on this round.

4gotn1 - I love the story about your goats. Now that my kids are out of the house my husband and I have 2 cockapoos and they are my babies.

Pray4fire - I hope you are feeling better today. I have fought depression over the past few years too. I found out my adrenals are messed up and I am working on that right now hoping that will help. Depression is one of the symptoms of adrenal fatigue.

Welcome Virgo! Our group is still growing!!

Sissie - those plateus suck!!! I'm sure you will get moving again soon. I bet your body is just trying to catch up.

4gotn1 - Are you starting this weekend? You have given so much good advice on here I almost forget you haven't even started protocol yet. I'm ready to hear your success story!!

Pray4fire - How are you doing? I've been thinking about you and hope you pull out of your rut. We are all here cheering you on!!

Shimbus - I am on day 11 of VLCD and I have gotten rid of the hungry feeling but I still have cravings something fierce! I have noticed that if I change my routine, I get hungry. For example, if I skip my fruit in the mid-morning and don't have it until after lunch, that evening I pay for it because I'm starving.

Kdee - any luck today??

Has anyone heard from Fit-by-40? She was having such great success I wonder how she is doing now.

I lost another 1.4 pounds today. Yeah! Only 58 more days to goal!!

I'm a newbie and starting protocol soon!

Hello All!
I am so excited to have found this thread! I cracked up at Vickie's comment about sneaking sips of her mom's pepsi and then filling it back with water!

I have researched hCG for a couple of weeks now and decided last night to go for it! We have a Dr here locally that is offering the program and when I found out it was my family's PCP, I was thrilled!
I met with the nurse last night and she gave me a 3-ring binder full of info including the VLCD menu, recipes, journal sheets and of course, the protocol.
I read alot of it last night and I did labwork this morning. I go back to get my first inj tomorrow and then my load days will be Fri, Sat and Sun. I am nervous about those days! I thought I would be looking forward to my loading/binge days but, I’m really not. It took some time for me to get into the right mindset to decide that I am going to work hard at losing weight, eat right and stay focused… and now? I am supposed to load up on gross fatty foods for 3 days before I start the program!!
Well, technically I guess this IS part of the program, so I need to just think of it as that.
When I think of gross fatty foods, I think of McDonalds, Long John Silvers & Burger King (mmm whopper with cheese) (but those ALWAYS make my stomach hurt!) I used to work with a girl that called those
“run-belly-burgers” After you ate one, you would always RUN to the bathroom holding your belly!

So, my question is this for those on the program... What did you eat on your load days? I want to know specific, not just "carbs and fats"
Burgers? Fries? Chicken Pot pie? a whole bag of snickers? what?

Cowgirl: No luck today. Tonight I meet with the Dr. again to see what I could be doing wrong. Everyone else is losing weight except me. I will be finished soon with this round. I think then I'll try to order it myself instead of going through a Dr. I don't want to waste all that money again if it doesn't work again! So keep up the great work. Hopefully in a month or two I'll be back trying it again.

NO you don't want high carb, just high fat. Some do it healthier than others! Full Fat Real Cream, fatty meats, Cream Cheese and a big one i read a lot is cheese cake! Several mentioned going some where and getting a slice of each flavor of course most say after 2 days of eating a whole cheese cake they will probably never want cheese cake again!

I don't plan on doing it that healthy...I know many wouldn't agree but I want to get in some last min. hope I never want again goodies.

EVERYONE: I am so glad you enjoyed hearing about my babies. It felt so good to read that today as I still am struggling...especially last night , the "one week" anniversary...sitting here think "if only".

Virgobaby...OMG Chicks are like the goats, I never thought I could love them so much. DD hatched chicken eggs for science fair and we ddin't have a barn yet. We had to put them at my granddad's and even loved it because they followed him around! A darn fox got them and that just killed me too. We always said we were going to do it again but now I just don't know if I want anything ever again that goes and stays mostly outside.

Sissie: I just put my 15 year old Spitz down a few months ago. As hard as that was, he quality of life had gotten so poor. He couldn't get up on his own and some days even if you helped him up, he would fall back down. I am so sorry to hear about your shepherd and your bird. I just pray there is a rainbow's bridge and boy the commotion that will be heard when I get there w/all my angels...I have so many waiting for me!

Cowgirl: Thank you for asking! LOL! I am loading Saturday and Sunday and starting VLCD on Monday...I can NOT wait to share my results. I think I have more to lose than anyone! LOL!

A Loading Question

Do most people on hCG protocol load for 2 days or 3 days?

I could swear that my Dr's office said I would be loading Fri, Sat and Sun and then start VLCD on Monday, but from what I have read, people only do 2 loading days.
I have a meeting with the nurse tomorrow night, so I will be sure to ask, but I was just curious what you all have done? (will do)

Hey TxLoriJean ~ I loaded for two days and I think that is pretty much the norm. 4gotn1 mentioned in her last post that she would be loading on Saturday and Sunday this week so she is doing two days also. You guys will be starting at the same time - very cool! I would do whatever your doctor tells you to though.

You also asked about loading foods earlier. My loading was only two weeks ago but I had to think about it to remember what I had. Let's see....Tons of bacon fried crispy (yummo!), cheese, nuts, two full containers of hummus with pita chips, super greasy deep dish loaded pizza from Uno's, Baconator and fries, a one pound fatty ribeye steak with a huge honkin' baked potato loaded with tons of butter & sour cream, fried mushrooms, and a peanut buster parfait from Dairy Queen. I was so sick and full the second night I couldn't finish the peanut buster parfait. I was sure kicking myself on the first morning of VLC for that!

I gained four pounds loading so I think I did alright.

You will probably get advice on what to load on from your doctor tomorrow. I would keep snacks handy for between your meals so that you always have something. I used the fried bacon, cheese, and nuts for that. You are supposed to eat as much as you are able to get in. It's not as fun or easy as it sounds by the second day. No way I could have done a third day like my second!

4gotn1 ~ I will also have a welcoming committee at the Rainbow Bridge

I'm so excited for you to get started this weekend! I can't wait to read about your experience and results. This stuff is pretty amazing so far. Sounds like you have really studied up and are ready for it.

Good luck to you both!

Terri

Thanks Terri, a big honkin' baked potato with lots of sour cream and butter is definitely ON my load list. Along with fried pickles at Hooters
(I LOVE their fried pickles) Definitely some donuts from Shipley's and ice cream at Dairy Queen.

The Schwan's man came by tonight, so I got some pre-packaged chicken breast, broccoli, and asparagus. Yum! I*'ve always wanted a George Foreman grill, so now is a great time to go get one.

I do have another question. For any of you that do the injections, do you inject in your stomach close to your belly button? I looked on You Tube and some were injecting in their thigh, arm and buttocks.
Where do you inject?

Ummmmm........fried pickles *sigh*

I do injections of 150iu. I have the longer 1 1/4" for IM and the 1/2" insulin needles for SQ. I rotate six spots and do not inject into my belly fat. I do the upper arms, thighs, and buttock/hip areas. I had intended to use the longer needles for IM injections but ordered the insulin style as a back up if I had problems with the shots.

Neither size needle was or is painful for me to use. I am now only using the insulin needles. I believe I'm hitting muscle in my arms and thighs with this size but the hip shots are more likely SQ since I have some fat in that area. I'm carrying most of the weight I still need to lose in my stomach and hips.

After you do the first injection it is no big deal. I grew up watching my grandma give herself insulin shots so I didn't think anything of it.

You must be so excited to get started! Are you still thinking of doing three loading days? Keep us updated and make sure you get all of your questions answered at your appointment tomorrow.

TxLoriJean - I use a 1 inch needle and inject into my thigh. What part of Texas do you live in? I am in the DFW area.

I loaded for two days and I think that is the norm. Occasionally I hear of people loading for 3 days if they didn't load enough the first two. I apparently never have that problem (I gained 9 pounds). I was looking forward to the load days so much and then when the time came, I spent an hour roaming around the grocery store - couldn't think of a thing I wanted to eat. From what I can remember, I had frito chili pie, key lime pie, macaroni and cheese, nachos with tons of cheese, hot fudge sundae, biscuits & gravy, and last but not least....a whole bag of Reese's peanut butter cups. I was so full I couldn't sleep. I felt horrible afterwards. I actually think most people, including myself, think of the loading days as eat ever freakin' thing in sight and more. But it's SUPPOSED to be high fat foods, not necessarily high carb. As you can see by my list, I had the best of both worlds.

I lost another pound today. Tomorrow is my weigh in day at the clinic and so far I have lost 7 pounds since my last weigh in so we'll see how it goes. Only 57 more days!!!

cowgirl07 - I bet you couldn't sleep after eating all of that. lol
I probably should have eaten more like that because I was so hungry the first 4-5 days. I only ate my 3 meals a day and nothing in between. Pizza with extra cheese & pepperoni, mexican food and a breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg, cheese both mornings.

TXLoriJean - I know exactly where you are. We lived in Hewitt for about 14 months in 1984-85. We then moved back to Ft. Worth.

Virgobaby: Hi, I only lost weight on the first fours days of the low cal. diet. I lost 9lbs.(gained 1 back) so I lost 8 pounds the first fours days. But since then I haven't lost any weight! I think when I wrote the last post I was on day 16, which rounds out to be 1/2 lb. a day. My Doc. just told me every body is different and some people don't lose as fast. I'm doing nothing wrong it will just take time. Whatever! I want to do another round, but I will have to figure out how to get the hcg myself this time. I might be one who only loses 8lbs. a month. That is going to take me forever!! have a great day.

Good evening everyone! I hope you all are doing well!!

Virgobaby~did you start your protocol yet? How are you doing?

Cowgirl~you are doing phenomeonly good! Did I spell phenomeonly correctly? LOL. That is awesome!!! Girl, I wish I could lose like you do!

TxLoriJean~nice to "meet"you! I loaded for only 2 days. Like Shimbus wrote, I wish I had ate more during my 2 days, but for some reason I just didn't have an appetite and found myself being full on things I normally scarfed down. I ate Moes the last load night, with lots of cheese dip. And oooh how I miss it now. I knew I would miss Mexican more then anything, thats why it was my final meal! Good luck!!

4gotn1~I know there will be a stampede when we all get to Heaven. Its such an emotional thing for us when we lose our pets...I know thats partly to blame for 10 lbs I packed on the past few months. I medicated my sorrow with food.

Shimbus, I agree this talk is making me hungry too. The worst part for me is seeing all the Halloween candy and knowing this year I wont be able to partake...not sure WHY something wrapped in a Halloween wrapper makes me want it, but Halloween is worse for my waistline then Turkey Day and Christmas..

Kdee...so did the doc give you any explanation as to why you went 12 days with no loss? My doc said if I went 4, to let her know and she would intervene....

I think I lost another lb. Having a regular scale does not let me see exactly...my hunger has subsided some. Today I was out all day and didn't take my food with me. I ran into the grocery store and got 4 oz of shrimp and some cucumber slices from the salad bar....that saved me!!! But Hub came home tonight and asked if I could sit and WATCH him and our son eat at Moes. I asked him what he wanted more...a happy thin wife or a burrito...He ate pasta at home.

Good Evening Everyone!

kdee ~ I would still be bothered by the mysterious stall you are experiencing. The only stalls like that (and they were few) I remember from Yahoo seemed to be for folks a lot farther into the protocol and it was usually at some previous set point in their weight. You could post there and probably get some valuable insight from some of the veterans.

The good thing is that you are keeping an open mind and willing to try a second round. Any info you need for ordering supplies can be easily found. Are you finished with this round or still finishing up the last couple of days? Even though the loss wasn't what you hoped for I would still stick to Phase 3 and protect it so you don't have to lose it again.

sissie35 ~ I am on VLCD 11 and I am down 10.7 lbs but 4 of them were from loading and I lost them the first day. So I am 'actually' down 6.7 from my preloading weight. I'll take it!

I have noticed something interesting though. Three of my weigh-ins were goose eggs! I just realized today (0 loss from yesterday) that all three days I didn't lose I had eaten cabbage the day before. Hmmmm. Could be coincidence since you don't lose every single day but I decided to avoid it for the rest of my round and see what happens.

Hoping for a good weigh-in tomorrow!

Glad to hear cowgirl, shimbus, and sissie are losing!

4gotn1 and TxLoriJean ~ Enjoy that loading this weekend!

Take care all ~

Terri

Virgobaby, I am wondering about the cabbage...I ate some tonight and if I don't lose anything by tomorrow, I am not going to eat any more cabbage during my protocol. I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not..but I know when I was trying to follow the Blood Type Diet for my blood type I am not supposed to have cabbage....hmmm.....I wonder if that does play into it any. Because even tho I liked it the way I fixed it, I'd like to lose weight more.

Congrats on your weight loss so far, Virgobaby!!!!!!!

Thanks sissie ~

You aren't blood type o-positive by any chance are you? I really liked the cabbage too even though I was eating it very plain. Just steamed with a little salt and pepper - very bland but I didn't mind. I decided to keep my foods VERY plain and simple at first and slowly add seasonings later if needed. I figured it would be easier to figure out any problems with less variables involved.

I had one serving left for today but when I woke up to my second straight hold and thought about having had the cabbage the two previous days, I decided to change up my veggie choice. We'll see how it goes tomorrow...

Thanks for letting me know about the blood type diet and cabbage. It'll be interesting to see if it affects you as well. I sure hope not!

Off to bed now ~
