Doing it yourself saves a ton of money. I brought the protocol to my Nurse Practitioner and said I'm doing this will you follow me? She said yes, she took a copy to read and wrote a RX for my supplies but said she couldnt give me the RX for HCG so I got it from a canadian pharmacy for cheaper anyway.
There are forums especially for HCG protocol with all the support, mixing instructions ect; however many go thru a clinic the first round and realize they are paying a ton for very little help and go it alone after. I did it my own from the beginning and its not hard. Google everything you can find on HCG and you tube videos and put in say myhCGjOURNEY and see what you come up with. Hope this helps. |

All my precautions paid off, I lost another 2 lbs I was 181.4. My TOM started today too. I was worried about my shot this morning, it hurt going in and a little blood came out with the needle now it is purple and sore. I did draw back on the needle before injecting. So I am not sure what happened. Has anyone else had this experience?

I have had to take B-12 injections for over a year now and Yes this can happen any time you take an injections. There are so many little blood vessels in our fat, its no big deal. If you can see where you are injecting avoid the veins you can see thru the skin.
I just plunge the needle in the outer upper quadrant of buttock or upper thigh but away from bone area. I have even had mine in my upper arm when I was too fat to reach my own back side which is no longer a problem...yay. |

Hi everyone,
Just checking in and catching up on all the threads. First I have to say that you are not going to believe this but I just turned 38 in July. We should call this the "38 Special" thread. ![]() I am off work this week and enjoying every minute of it! But I can't wait 'til Friday...I'm going back for my refill so I can load Friday and Saturday. I have done so-so while being off. Right now I'm up 4 pounds but I haven't been sticking to the low-carb plan like I should. So I know I will drop that really quick because of the water in the carbs. Plus it's TOM time. yee haw Speaking of that, I had a Dr. appt. last week with my Ob-gyn and asked her what she knew about the HCG diet. She said she hadn't heard anything about it in a long time. She said she didn't have anything negative to say about it but if she found out something, she would call. Well, she hasn't called yet.... Glad to hear everyone is doing great! And 4Gotn1 - bless your heart! I'm so happy that you have your stuff now!!! |

I am going to the dr tomorrow to do my blood work and have my physical before I start...I have had some hormonal issues previously so I want to make sure I am ok before I start anything. The dr I am going to is a bariatrician, and does the shots...I dont think its going to be too bad price wise..70 a week for the shots? Honestly, I would be scared to order anything from another country that I would be injecting in myself...:-(
For those of you that have been on it and have lost, have you noticed where you lost? Was it tummy, or hips, thighs? |

Kerry - that is freakin' awesome! I start back tomorrow with my first loading day and I am SOOO inspired by your stats. Thanks!!!!!
I noticed my loss in my tummy, hips and thighs but the most surprising for me was my thighs. All the diets I've tried before I could always lose through my tummy and hips but my thighs were always the last place to lose anything. With this protocol, it all seems to come off at the same time in all the right places. I even lost in my calf!!! |

I cant believe my results in one week. I start the VLCD last Sat. and today I have lost 11 lbs and 10 inches. I am amazed and I cant wait for next Sat. I lost more in my trunk area than any where else I lost nothing off my arms. I hope it comes off there this week, I really hate my flaps.
It is crazy how a lot of us are the same age!! |

OK, I'm back on plan now. I've decided after my little 2-week break that I won't be doing that again. I really thought I could eat low-carb and be just fine. If I had done that I would have been OK but I didn't. So when I weighed in Friday at the clinic, I was up 7 pounds. I wasn't too worried because I knew I could lose that quickly this week. Then after my 2 loading days, I got up this morning and I was up almost 9 pounds JUST FROM LOADING!! That means I am now up 16 pounds. UGH!! Oh well, it's motivating to get back on plan and stay there. And I was soooo ready to get back on track. I missed seeing the weight falling off every day.
Have any of you used coconut oil? I've seen a couple of people around on the boards experimenting with it so I thought I would give it a try. Also, what about this Coral Calcium? I have heard of several people taking it so I went to Walgreen's today and bought some. However, when I got home I noticed they were oil capsules and the ingredients say it contains soybean oil. So I think I bought the wrong stuff. Have any of you tried this?? Kimberly |

Coconut Oil is NOT phase 2 legal....There was several threads on it at the yahoo group but I didn't follow it because it is one of those things, I think that some people can get away w/ and some can't....I don't want to risk an ounce of weight loss so I didn't follow the thread. GOOD For you for getting back on track! STILL waiting for TOM If it is on time it should be next weekend. It is kinda of a good time load though it is our 142nd ( I think) County fair....Italian Sausages , whoopie pies and Caramel apples...okay the last two in moderation! LOL! I plan to start loading on day 3 of my period so that I am starting , starting on the final day...hopefully. I am so tired of waiting.

Is anyone doing Releana? I have a clinic by me that does Releana (sub lingual hcg) w/ a low carb and B12 shot protocol. I think most people are doing the VLCD w/ shots. I plan to talk to the center today. I am already low-carbing (induction again) so i would love to add the Releana and B12 shots. I have a friend who was using the drops (long before I knew they were HCG) and she thought they were amazing.

For those who ordered from the site listed on the yahoo groups, how long did it take to get your order. My card was billed on August 29th. Also
on the Yahoo group site someone suggested getting homeopathic hcg and gave a name of a company in the US. anyone hear about this. One person stated she was successful with this and it required no mixing. Other people say it can't work , can't wait to get started, any ideas how long once your card is billed?pag |

Oh by the way. I am 38 going to be 39 this month so I guess I truly "belong" on this thread. I will let everyone know about Releana in a couple of weeks when I actually start. The clinic is almost two hours from my house, but I just found out about another clinic that may offer it as well. Depends on which one is more money. Congrats to everyone who is losing sooo much weight! It is inspiring!

Pray4Fire, I am sorry to hear you are depressed...emotional eating is what has kept me at my present weight now for a few years...start anew and know you can get thru it and do this! My dr. is going to put together a support group for her patients so the patients will have people to talk to and help them..I think its a wonderful idea. Diets can be hard, in that they are a lifestyle change and sometimes our friends and family may not understand, support what we are doing and when we get upset, depressed, its easier to turn to food then our friends, because the cheesecake is not judging us..at least for me.
I went to the dr. yesterday to get my lab results and my shots. I had stupidly thought we were supposed to eat what we wanted BEFORE we started the shots, not when we started them for 2 days, so my weight was up 4 lbs. Its amazing how I can gain weight so quickly. I was soo nervous when they were teaching me how to inject...but I did it and did my first shot this morning. I am ready to get this weight off. I gained 100 lbs when I was pregnant and haven't lost the last 30..I am short, so the smallest amount of weight is a lot on me. Atkins hasn't worked for me like it did in the past...so I am counting on this to work. When I was at the drs. office one of their patients came in and she had lost 30 lbs in 5 1/2 weeks. If I lose 30 lbs, I will be running the streets of my city naked....so look out! |

Prayfire - DON'T STOP!!! Look at my previous post and you'll see why. I did so well for almost 4 weeks and then one day I had Mexican food and it all went downhill from there. I tried to take a 2-week break and do low-carb to get mentally back on track and couldn't even do that. I know it's hard to keep focused when emotionally you don't want to be. But if you just stay on track and keep losing, your scale will bring you back up in good spirits again!!!
Mlinidie - I am doing Releana. I get in from a clinic in OKC and have been very happy with it. I go in once a week for my weigh-in and B-12 shot. For me, this makes me more accountable than what I would be if I were doing it on my own. It's a little more expensive but I would just about cut off my right arm to lose weight at this point. Like you, Atkins just quit working for me and this has been the answer. I encourage you to give it a try. You mentioned they do a low-carb diet - just make sure it follows the Simeon's protocol. I have been doing really well this week. I have lost 11 pounds in my first 3 days so I have gotten rid of my "load" weight and some of my "break" weight. I have been getting all my water in every day and measuring everything to a T. I have been using the coconut oil (about a teaspoon/day) and it doesn't seem to be bothering me. However, right now I'm losing mostly water weight so we'll see if it keeps up into next week. If I slow down too much, I may drop using the oil. Hope everyone is doing well. And it's good to see newbies here!! Kimberly |

Cowgirl~congrats on the 11 lbs in 3 days! Thats awesome!!!
I know my doc told me to also make sure that I got some salt in during the day to keep me from peeing everything out...I dont know if some of the other stuff talks about that or not. She said it was important. Also, about the makeup-I am using mineral makeup (the Merle Norman powder stuff) and she said that is fine..however, she did say no moisturizers or body lotions..I am gonna be a dry piece of paper-but skinny!- at the end of this 6 weeks! As for soaps and shampoos and stuff, she said its not so much the stuff you wash off, as it is the stuff you put on your skin and leave on there...as the skin is our largest organ and stuff that you put on is absorbed as if you ingested it. That was interesting..I never thought if of that way before.... Thanks for the welcome! |

Thanks Sissie!
I never thought about the salt but I typically use a lot of salt anyway. I guess no more than I am eating, I can't get too much salt. The clinic really pushes the potassium too. My Gyn. was concerned about me not getting enough calcium but I figure if I only have to do this for a couple of months to get to my goal, I can go with a calcium deficiency temporarily. In the long term, it would be much more unhealthy to be overweight the rest of my life vs. a couple of months of low calcium. I also use the powder foundation and I have changed my liquid soap to Dove bar soap. Other than that I haven't changed my lotions/moisturizers. I just try not to overdo it. |

Cowgirl, my mom was asking about the side effects of taking it and I told her there had not been any reported..to me, I feel like its a lot safer then taking the OTC diet pills and other things I had tried...like Herbalife which was reported as having high levels of lead in it. And none of them worked. The other side effect is being overweight longer then I am...I don't want to continue on as I am now. I want to be healthy and happy and have a long life to spend with my son.
From my understanding the load days is so your body will have a ready supply of calories to pull from and to get your body adjusted to the HCG. I am using it to get all my typical cravings out of the way too. Tomorrow, Mexican! Altho, I have to say today I went to get some lemon ice cream and could only take a few licks of it and threw it away.... |

I started the HCG shots on Saturday. My load days were Saturday and Sunday. Monday was the day I started the 500 calories. I weighed 164.2 all last week and even Sunday morning after eating lots of fats on Saturday. Then Monday morning I weighed 166.2 after another day of lots of calories and fats. On Tuesday I weighed 163, Wednesday 160.2 and then today 159. I am happy with the way I am losing. Yesterday I was hungry and I think that is because I should have done 3 days of high fat. Not hungry enough to cheat!
2 years ago I decided to do WW after putting all my weight back on after eating Atkins style for about 3 years. It was totally my fault because I got tired of the food choices and went back to my old eating habits. On Atkins I got down to 133 and maintained that for a long time. My starting weight had been 160. When I started WW I was at 179 an all time high. It took me a long time to lose the weight on WW and I could never get below 139. I didn't even stay at that weight long. In May of this year I did ediets delivery for 6 weeks and lost nothing. I knew that my body was out of whack and I needed to do something different. I went to a doctor and he is the one who put me on an HCG diet. I went with this method because I realize that my body does best on low carb and I needed to just get everything reset. I am feeling great, I actually have more energy, just dealing with feeling hungry in the afternoons but I know this will pass in a few days. I do not feel any weakness which would be normal if someone was only eating 500 calories a day. Thanks for reading my story. ![]() Sherrie |

g2g - Like Sissie said, the load days are to basically overload your body of a sufficient supply of fat stores while your body is adjusting to burning your fat stores as fuel. If you did not load, the first couple of days of the 500 calorie diet would cause your body to burn muscle for fuel while it is in the transition process of switching to the fat-for-fuel burning method.
Sissie - the clinic swears there are no side effects of Releana and believe me, I have tried to find some. I have researched like crazy just because I'm such a skeptic. I have not found one person with any negative side effects. I feel great on it and have plenty of energy. I agree that it's much safer than the "diet" pills out there. I feel like I'm making a positive change for my body and my life that will be long-lasting. Sherrie - Welcome! It's great to have you here! Sounds like you are off to a great start. I am amazed with the energy level myself. I've never had luck with any diet that is not a low-carb form. I tried WW and gained 7 pounds in the first 4 days. That was enough of that! I am just extremely susceptible to the carbs. That's why I like this diet. I'm eating low carb AND low fat but I am satisfied with the food and I don't really feel deprived. I like the way the HCG curbs your hunger. Oh, I still have cravings - probably always will. But I just have to face the fact that it's a mental thing. Are you just eating basic food or are you trying any recipes? |
