Hi hi! I am back from my appointment and just successfully self-injected.
Clinic was fine, self-injecting was anti-climatic. I barely felt it through all that belly fat!

I am poking myself for the next three days and then doing a weekl-long injection on tuesday before I leave. The main problem w/ travelling I think is that the hcg has to be refrigerated - I could probably think of a creative way around that, but I'm just going to chance it w/ the weekly thing.
Trying to load. ugg. maybe i'll go scare up some nuts -i never seem to have trouble eating those!

I don't like idea of injecting myself.. even if it is for weight loss! I hate the dentist because of their long needles and I certainly don't think I would take it upon myself to inject myself. Maybe if a friend did it I could.

Littlelily, Many of us do NOT inject. We take under the tongue, Sublingual doses of hCG.

I've been on HCG (oral Releana) for a month tomorrow. I've lost 19.8 lbs so far with a 500 calorie diet program. I have 20 lbs. more to reach goal, but would like taht extra 5 as my cushion. This is the only diet that has worked for me. I have a thyroid condition, and along with menopause, and NO metabolism, I just couldn't get more than 5 lbs off and that is with daily exercise program. I am very encouraged with HCG.

I have a dilemna tho...I am going on a cruise next week, and my husband really wants me to enjoy it, and that means straying from the 500 calories. I have been deabting whether to take my Releana with me, or go off for that week, but stay within a 500 calorie diet most days, but around a 1,000 calorie diet for the formal nights. Does anyone know if I stay on HCG during the week, what will happen if I stray on those 2 nights? Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated! I DO NOT want to regain the weight I have worked so hard to get off!

Thanks so much for any help!

Smiles,
EJ

Welcome EJ!

I have thyroid condition too. Did you continue your thyroid meds while using hcg?

Good Morning all. VLCD day #28 I lost 1.4 this morning so that makes the total 18.6

I really think lowering the dosage has really helped alot! I just wish I would have thought of doing it before now. I am glad that I started all this at my Dr's office since they give you lots of info, a physical and lab work. But, I don't know why they had my dosage so high and I think everyone's is like that.
Anyway, I still have not received the hCG I ordered from dd but I won't need it until after Thanksgiving so that's ok. I am having a hard time with hubby though... I have to listen to his concerns about ordering something coming from "overseas" and not knowing if it's the real thing or not. *sigh*

sweetypie - I also cook for hubby (and my kids) and it hasn't been a problem for me. Good Luck and have fun on your cruise. Oh, and I think you can keep hCG un-refrigerated for up to 3 days. But, like others suggested, my opinion is that you should get off of it while you are gone. (Google "hcg planned interruption)

beccanancy - I'm glad your first injection went well. I too was so worried and after it was over, I was thinking... that was no big deal. LOL!

Good Luck everyone!

TXLoriJean - I have not heard of keeping hcg unrefrigerated for 3 days. As a matter of fact, my clinic makes sure to send me home with an icepack with my Releana because I have an hour drive home. I think I read somewhere that over 30 minutes of not being referigerated can cause the HCG to lose potency. Congrats on your loss so far! The one disadvantage I have in going to the clinic for my Releana is that it's premixed and I can't alter the dosage.

Chrisite - I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. Just hang in there and I know the scale will start moving again. You are starting to get some exercise for one thing and your body will want to adjust to that. Also, you had such an amazing first month that I'm sure your body is in shock!! Do you use the ketostix to test your ketones? I always use those when I start to get frustrated just to reassure myself that fat REALLY is leaving my body.

EJ - Nice to have a local gal nearby! I also go to Broadway Clinic. I used to live in Tulsa for about 7 years (Glenpool and Mounds) then I got divorced and moved back to Shawnee. Do you like Broadway? I know there are about 5 clinics around OKC that distribute hcg in different forms but I don't know if I should change at this point. I'm not overly impressed with them but they give me my "drugs" so it's all good.

Ragdoll - sounds like P3 is going well for you. You are an inspiration!!

Sissie - Congrats on 140! I think that is my goal but I'm not really sure. I'm 5'8" so I may decide to stop at 150. So I'm jealous!!!

Virgo - I'm so glad you are settled into P3 now. Is the round at Thanksgiving going to be your last round? I have 3 weeks left hcg and I am going to take off until Jan. 1 but when I look at the calendar, that seems like such a long time to be off. So maybe I should get through Thanksgiving and do another round between T-G and X-mas? Right now I'm just taking it one day at a time and will figure it out as I go.

I'm so scared I'm going to miss someone to here's a big to all the newbies and a big for all the losses!!

Well - I am done with loading and I only gained 3 pounds so it was much better than the first round! I can already tell that it was the right thing to do because I'm not hungry at all being back on protocol. I just didn't like that full feeling while loading. YUCK! My goal in 20 pounds in the next 21 days so surely I can stand on my head for 21 days! Although I have two B-days to get through. But I will be strong!!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and happy losing everyone!!

Goood morning!

Injection #2 went fine.

Loading...uggg! I cannot think of a single food I would enjoy eating. Not one. I'm also completely bloated - hoping I'll be able to get into a suit for work tomorrow.

Here's a question...my clinic gave me a protein shake to use in conjunction w/ the foods on the plan - 80 cals/serving and they suggest using it times a day. They don't include the melba toast on their food list, so the calories can even out to 500. If I don't go overboard on the celery

Anyone else eating protein shakes? I actually don't mind 'em - was on medifast for 18 months, so having shakes all the time is pretty comfortable. BUT it's not on the simeons list...??

Going shopping this afternoon for some spinach, celery and cucumbers, lemon and chicken. Very excited for my first vlcd tomorrow!

MHJ you don't need a book...I think everything you need can be found, for free in there forums section.

Here is the Phase 3 thread!
Good luck and CONGRATS. I LOVE the way my body feels now too...it is so neat to suddenly realize something has gotten so much smaller. First it was my back, abs....last week it was my arms and the last few days I keep feeling my chin....I have lost quite a bit in my face.

Congrats on the 5.8lbs

This is a quick update. I had no loss yesterday and a .80 loss today. Today is VLCD 40 and I have lost a total of 32 pounds.
Congrats! and Congrats on another 1.2lbs!

Beccanancy Congrats and good luck w/ the one week hcg!

littlelilly Sublingually ( spelling) as Barb mentioned requires you hold it under your tongue for 10-15 mins. It is usually mixed w/ a clear alcohol....like vodka! W/ SL ( sublingually) you don't need the syringes so you save yourself some money w/ that but you do have dose 2x's a day instead of one w/ injecting.

Penny, I just read something about someone continuing their thyroid meds at MHJ...Can't remember who it was but someone was asking if they stop it ( I think Dr. S said YES) but someone else posted they would NOT stop and did NOT stop it when they were doing protocol.

Ragdoll: Congrats on your phase 3 success!

TxLoriJean Congrats on the loss! I don't think there is anything you can say to ease his mind on ordering overseas....I had the same thing w/ my mom. I ordered 5 vials and it hasn't killed me and has worked. I have one dose thawing, one in the freezer and DD just had her 2nd injection from a 2nd vial.

ME: Down 1.6lbs...this up and down, up and down is DRIVING me crazy! I would rather continuously lose small amounts than gaining small, losing bitter, gaining small....you get it.

I am wonder if upping the walking would help me move more weight. i know I have been BLESSED and that my results are not typical ( never thought I would be on the PLUS side of "results are not typical thing) but I have so much to lose and want it GONE!

Tomorrow I go in for my yearly physical that is about 1 1/2 past due! LOL! My dr. is usually pretty easy to get drugs out of ! hehe! I am trying to decide if I should ask him for a script for the hCG so that I don't have to worry about DD... I mean I dont mind the wait, I have 3 vials left. What I don't like is the $30 shipping fee. That makes me need to order a lot of vials at one time to make it worth the shipping BUT I dont' really ahve the money to do that.

I am going to weigh myself in the AM like normal...then right before I leave w/ clothes on and no shoes ( Like I do at the drs) to see how his scale compares to mine!

Struggling w/ DD loading EVEN though she bought things that I really don't care for !!! Funny how good things you dont' really care for look WHEN you haven't had any junky type foods!

Also have had some bathroom issues TWO More times, in which the smooth move tea has helped. HOwever I don't like knowing it will throw off my weigh in's so I guess it is time to add the magnesium. I HATE taking pills...I Hate it. So I guess I will stop and try to get some at the Vitaminshoppe tomorrow and then order the name brand that Barb recommended from an online store.

For those taking supplements. I found an AWESOME online place w/ great prices and a discount code for a percent off and flat rate shippng of $4.99 if you want more info PM I know I can't link to them since net rion carries many of the same things.

Happy losing everyone!!

For anyone who takes injections, is there a specific time of day you take them?

I went shopping today and am having a hard time finding oil-free products. I got the stuff Ragdoll suggested for make-up, but I can't seem to find a soap, or shampoo, or conditioner.

Has anyone had trouble with hair loss?

I go on Tuesday to the clinic, but I heard they don't exactly follow Simeon's plan and they don't load. I thought I would follow his plan any way in spite of their directions. I am one who actually does want to load. I want to make some sugarfree pumpkin ice cream with heavy cream and enjoy some cheesecake (LC).

Beccanancy- that is interesting about the shakes. I haven't heard of that one before. I am nervous not to follow Simeon's protocol exactly. I know someone who does 800 calories a day with her clinic, but I want to do the 500. I am not on it yet, so can't advise you, but maybe drinking the shakes takes some of the planning and preparation out of it?

IF anyone has more personal product tips, let me know. Especially undereye concealer. The Bare Minerals doesn't seem to help with my dark circles.

I think most do it in the AM it is said to take them as close at the same time each day. I have been 2 hours one way or another and been fine!

I went shopping today and am having a hard time finding oil-free products. I got the stuff Ragdoll suggested for make-up, but I can't seem to find a soap, or shampoo, or conditioner.

I am using my same shampoo, soap and conditioner and doing just fine as are many! You can search both the other groups and find threads on this topic and see that many are using them. I use Irish Spring soap, Organix Vanilla shampoo and condionier. I also use suave aerosol deodorant and Degree solid deodorant.

Has anyone had trouble with hair loss?

I have not noticed this. I started taking supplements to hopefully prevent it and LOVED what it did to my hair in a short amount of time BEFORE starting protocol ( like 1-2 weeks) I did stop it though, not wanting a lot of cellouse n my body. I got the list of supplements from a lady who succesfullytook them during phase 2 her site is hcg coach dot com....she posts at the yahoo group under the name I think Shalom....she does charge to ask a quesion though!

Beccanancy- that is interesting about the shakes.

You posted while I was...the lady at the group mentioned above USES protein shakes because she is a vegetarian. I have trid them but since you can't have milk.....I don't like the taste and consistency with water!

IF anyone has more personal product tips, let me know. Especially undereye concealer. The Bare Minerals doesn't seem to help with my dark circles. Can't help you w/ that.

My dr's office does have the protein shakes/drinks, but I don't think they offer it to anyone on P2. I think maybe it's for P3.

You know, maybe it was 3 hours, not 3 days. I read some info at hCG groups on yahoo about it being refrigerated. I will see if I can find something about it.

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope the scales were all good to each of you this morning! They were NOT to me! I am not sure what I did wrong...yesterday morning, I made a whole egg with 3 whites and thats all I ate for breakfast....well, it was nearly 5-6 pm before I got home and was able to eat again. (Hubby had two beef n cheddars from Arbys yesterday....ohmygoooooooooooodness) I ate New York strip with spinach...I later took a bath in Aveeno oatmeal with some bath salt. The only thing I can think of is when I made the biscuits yesterday, I had to use my hands to mix it and I wonder if the Crisco had anything to do with it. I was up a pound today...I also didnt drink that much water yesterday either. I am not happy tho!!!

TxLori~that is awesome that you have had tons of energy and are still losing! How many more days are you doing??

Barbara, you are doing great! KUTGW!

Hugs to everyone in HcGLand!

Hcg refrigeration question...

I found it. It's actually in Dr. S's Pounds and Inches under "Preparing the Solution"

Once HCG is in solution it is far less stable. It may be kept at room-temperature for two to three days, but if the solution must be kept longer it should always be refrigerated.

I remember reading that someone accidentially left their vial on the counter and realized it when they got home from work that day. It was on the counter at room temp for about 8 hours, but according to Dr S. it would still be ok.

WOE: HcG/Simeons Protocol started 9/12
Start Date: Getting serious 5/19/2008
Sungoddess, I am not sure what to suggest for the undereye circles. I think one drugstore line has a mineral concealor now. Maybe Loreal? That may work and usually the mineral stuff is oil free and ok. As for the shampoos and soap and stuff, my doctor said stuff you wash off are ok. Its stuff that you leave on your skin to dry and absorb that is what you have to be careful of, because it does go into your bloodstream.

WOE: Dr. Simeon's hCG Protocol
Start Date: 12/01/08
sungoddess, I inject daily each morning around 7am.
I haven't had any problems with hair loss and that was a concern of mine. I have long hair down to the middle of my back. I did ask my Dr about hair products and not using conditioner when I started the program and she said it shouldn't be a major problem as long as I wasn't using a conditioner with lots of wax or oil in it.

WOE: HCG simeon's protocol-LC maintenance
r1p3 here- so happy to have found this thread :)

I stumble upon lowcarbfriends last night searching for coconut oil recipes. And this morning found the hcg thread - therefore I had to join!

I am in week 3 of p3 and was looking for low carb recipes for this phase. So far I am maintaining or losing depending on which scale I believe. And I still have a hard time believing I can eat so much yummy food and not gain weight. Hcg is truly a miracle.

I did sublingual on my own for 9 weeks and lost 41 lbs. I did use coconut oil during the protocol to combat large doses of antibiotics I am on for months. I might have lost more without it, but I lost pretty well and it darn sure made food tast better. I will admit to not reading this entire thread as 27 pages is a lot to read! I think I read 15 and then came to the last page. LOL So I may post some things that have been said before..please pardon...

A few things that helped me out on p2:
Walden Farms choc syrup was a blessing to me in my morning coffee. It made it drinkable. I am a light and sweet girl, and black coffee with stevia was unpalatable. I NEED at least one cup of coffee a day! So I switched to organic flavored coffee (lower acid helps) and a shot of the choc syrup along with some flavored stevia and I could actually enjoy coffee again. Simeon's did say we could use diet products/sweeteners in moderation-so I considered that my moderation.

I tried a few of WF dressings and the balsamic was the only thing palatable. I'm not cray about celery so would use it infrequently to dip celery in. I tried not to use it often since I was using a bit of the choc syrup every day.

Getting in the water was very difficult for me until I stumbled on the posts about sparkling mineral water with the flavored stevias to make diet sodas. Once I started doing that it was a breeze-but quickly became very expensive! I ended up purchasing the soda stream machine that shalome recommended on her site and I love it. Even in p3 I continue to drink that water every day, and actually crave it. Consequently diet sodas (when I'm forced to have one now and then) taste like sugar syrup to me - bleck! And regular water is actually palatable now.

I am loving p3 and like others before me continue to see inches disappear and weight redistribution even in this phase. I am far from done, still weighing between 204-206, but will wait for another p2 till after the holidays. I am excited to see what awaits in p4, as so far everything the good doctor has said has turned out to be true.

Congrats to all of you losing and maintaining on hcg - it's great to meet you all and see a forum where the hcg tempers aren't raging!

WOE: VLCD
Start Date: October 2008
Sweetypie and Cowgirl - I go to the Broadway Clinic too. Are you both on your first round of Releana? I ask because they didn't really give me much direction - I thought they would tell me what they thought I should do (either Releana or suppressants) - they gave me the choice. So, I chose the Releana. However, after this round I am thinking of going to just the suppressants until after the first of the year. I don't know that I could continue doing the VLCD for another 30 days once I"m done with this round, especially with the holidays/traveling/work responsibilities. Also, mentally I don't know that I could do it - I'd like to be able to add in some other veggies to change things up for a while. I've read that some people say to take a break - what are your thoughts? Did the clinic tell you anything? My thinking is that if I take the suppressants and continue to eat healthy and exercise then I'll be OK and can do another round of Releana in January. I have a friend on just the suppressants and she's lost and been able to maintain (granted not as quickly as I have with Releana - I lost 8lbs after only 4 days of VLCD). I'd just like to know what others plan to do after
R1 or what they have done after R1.

Tomorrow will be day 8 of VLCD for me and it hasn't been too tough so far (Friday I was HUNGRY/stomach growling)...I've been able to get that feeling to go away by chugging water. My energy has been great - I really think that the shots I get each week help. Also, the supplement from the clinic that prolongs the effects of the shot help too. I just keep making mini goals for myself - "just get through this week and when you go to weigh-in on Friday you'll be rewarded."

I have not heard of keeping hcg unrefrigerated for 3 days.
I would in no way let HCG sit out even if the clinic says you can....unless I tested each dose w/ a pregger test first. I would think temp differences in homes/offices/purses would determine how long it could/should and it costs too much to risk losing any! JMHO!

Thanks I am hoping the increase in walking makes the difference...HOPING! Still wondering if I should try upping it though! I do not use ketostix since I was on LC and so many claimed them as unreliable. Might need to pick some up though and see where I am at. I HATE paying that price and then they are only good for is 30 or 60 days after opening???

OK. I just found this at HCGinfoonline.com:

If you plan on doing a second (or third) round to lose more weight, remember that Dr. Simeons recommends a 6 week break, followed by 8 weeks, followed by 10 weeks, etc. Some people have chosen to limit the break to 3 weeks (going from the maintenance phase right back to the injections). Dr. Simeons recommends this break to prevent immunity, but it is ultimately up to you how long your break is; you will see how the hCG reacts to the amount of time you chose to break for.

Do NOT try to lose additional weight during this period. Dr. Simeons states that you will lose weight from your structural and reserve fat, rather than the abnormal fat, which you do NOT want to do. In addition, the hypothalamus needs time to adjust to the new "set" weight if it is to be considered your "normal" weight. If you do not allow this 3-week period of maintaining the last injection weight, it may be much easier to gain weight in the future.

What if you lose extra weight just b/c you are eating healthy and exercising?

TxLoriJean- Hi- you said lowering your dosage helped a lot. I missed what you said. What were you at and what did you lower it to? You are doing great! Thanks for the info on injection time and hair loss

Sweetypie- 5.8 this week?? Good going. I am happy for you

Asia- congrats on the 1.2 loss!!

Cowgirl- 20 pounds in 21 days. You can do it!!

Mizjewel- so nice to have you join in. I also have trouble drinking enough water and found that sparkling mineral water with lemon works for me. I didn't realize Simeon said you could use diet products/sweeteners. I need to read it again. Every time I read the protocol, I learn something else.

Aims- congrats on your first week. Do you know the name of the supplement from the clinic that prolongs the effects of the shot? I heard that not eating anything until lunch also prolongs it, is that true?

Ragdoll- so do you find that HCG promotes a bit of insomnia? That chocolate torte sounds yummy.

Sherri- how is the detoxing going? Are you doing juice fasting?

4gotn1- thanks for answering so many of my questions. Much appreciated.

Sissie- so sorry you didn't do so well. Maybe it was just not drinking enough water? Thanks for the suggestions- I will see if the mineral makeup has a good concealer.

Wow- there are so many on this thread now! Hi to Penny, CrazyMC, g2g, Kwmair, whoff, summerfun, shimbus and virgobaby and anyone else I missed.

--It's called Lipo Lean - they said it's made especially for their clinic. It's got B6, B12, and alot of other vitamins in it.
I don't eat anything until lunch, but I don't know if that is true about prolonging the effects of the shot.

Aims, you have to take what you read w/ a grain of salt...Many have been successful w doing only 2-3 weeks of phase 3 and MANY are doing continuous...doing Phase 2 until they reach goal!~

There is a thread at mhj for those doing continuous and one lady lost 75ls. There is also a lady that does it at the yahoo group (thomasina) I think she has lost like 75lbs too and has only take off (2) 1 week "planned interruptions"

YES dr.s said NOT to do it but he also didn't suggest doing SL and it has made this doable for many and just as successful!

NOW some people have posted that longer rounds or trying continuous slowed their losses but many more have done it successfully. Biz has a post ( haven't read it yet) about why she doesn't believe that immunity exists.

Many people skip a day of dosing to help w/ immunity. People doing SL don't even usually skip a dose and have yet to build up immunity.

Some have found that they need a break and one lady ( doing round 2 of phase 2) posted that the next time she WILL take the full break...can't remember why but she said her body needed it and she could see why Dr. S suggested it.

Like dosage and delivery method it really HAS to be a personal choice!

TxLoriJean: DANG you should post your old avi pic in a post w/ your new o show the diff!!! AWESOME!!!!

From everything I read most people find it HELPS them sleep! I can say that TWICE since starting I have slept through the night and that has NOT happened in so many years I can't even tell you or guestimate how many!

Curious does it give a company name of who makes it? I found something by that name doing a google search but doubt it is the same thing. it is lipolean ( one word) by nutrabiotics.
