Low Calorie ?

Those of you that are losing weight using a low calorie diet are you watching your fat intake and carbs also? If you are what is the percentage of fat and carbs do you try to stay at.

Just wondering.

Thanks.

same here, I just count calories and don't worry about fat grams or carbs.

however, I did realise very quickly that I could eat tons of fresh fruit and veggies for a small amount of calories and that if I didn't want to be hungry all the time it would probably be a far better food choice for me!

I recently switched to low-cal. I watch somewhat for fat intake but totally disregard carbs.

I do watch both and it has definitly helped!! I try and stay below 1000 calories and between 20-30 carbs. I was stalled when I didn't count calories.

I can up my carbs to about 50 and not watch calories and maintain. Or I can watch calories and not my carbs and also maintain either works for me, but if I want to keep losing I definitly have to watch both.

Thanks for your replies!

I am going to give the slimstyles a try (I think) along with a low cal diet and see how things work out. I did lowcarb for a while and lost 85 pounds but just cant seem to get back into the groove of it again. I havent gained any back (scale wise anyway) but I am feeling crappy lately. Time to get my self going again before the weight starts going back up instead of down. I would like to lose another 20 pounds or so.

I don't count anything really. I just try not to overeat or snack too much. The all or nothing way of dieting doesn't work very well for me in the long run. I am not eating any animal products right now so that is the only restriction I have on my diet other than moderation.

I am the same as hhhmon74 I was not able to get to this fat layer until I went to kimkins. I was living low carb but maintenance was failing and fat had slowly kreeped back on. Now I can see a difference in my body and I feel sure the loss has been 99% fat loss. I had to go lower carb, low fat. which resulted in lower appetite and low cal.

I feel great

I do lowcal/lowfat. I have maintained my weight loss for over a year now.

I was tweaking lowcarb way too much and the guilt of when I "tweaked" was making me binge! I would get so down on myself and just eat-that added with menopause and I blossomed to almost 180 lbs. I lost almost 40 lbs and have kept it off!

I'm just watching my calories and using my Fitday. I've only been on the wagon for about a week, after coming home from an Alaska cruise! Packed on a good 6 pounds. But it was so wonderful, I'm not beating myself up too badly about it.
