Yes I tried it and it is the exact OPPOSITE of low carbing! It is VERY restrictive. The first day all you can have is a carb and fruit for each meal. The rest of the week you can have a carb, fruit and dairy at each meal. NO meat, or eggs for the first two weeks. Starting with the third week you can have fish or maybe a little chicken only one day a week. One day out of every week you have to restrict you eating to carbs and fruit with no dairy. People who attend the Rice Diet Clinic program are restricted to about 800 calories a day most of the time. To sum it up, The Rice Diet is basically a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet which allows a small amount of very lean meat only once a week. I found it too restrictive.

Bad in my opinion...
The Rice diet is very restrictive, I was hungry all the time. Plus you can only eat meat one day a week. I gained 5 lbs in 4 days following this plan and I followed it to the T, unlike what others in the book said about LOSING that much in that amount of time. If you are carb sensitive this isnt the diet for you.
