Read what Dr A says about the fat flush...it is ONLY for people who are metabolically resistant and it is not a way to drop fast the last few pounds you have to lose. It is not a healthy sustainable way of eating...not enough calories for health. He did not advocate it for long term losing, I believe it is for 2-3 days and just to jump start a stalled metabolism. YOu would be far better off to read the book and follow the plan as it is written for a period of 6 months, progressing up the carb ladder and see what happens. This is not a race and if you drop the weight really fast doing something crazy like the fat fast or ME you will probably gain it back.

Thank you, I was just curious about it. I have been very successful with losing it the old fashioned way with the right foods and exercise. I thought it was of a detox thing

I think it is, too, although I don't know much about it.

Purple Sage, are you talking about Dr. Atkins's Fat Fast? That's a different thing altogether.

If you check out the forum for that program it provides a tonne of information. CSoar is a member here and has done the program as well.

It also has "stages" with each progressive stage allowing more foods. It is really focused on cleansing the liver. You drink "cranwater" whic is a mixture of pure cranberry juice and water. The only sweetner allowed is some stevia. There is a large list of unlimited vegetables.

I would really check it out.

.....I met Ann Louise and have her Fat Flush book and Cookbook (autographed ), she has her own website, she is highly educated and headed up Pritikins Nutrition Dept for years.....I lost 25 on the plan....it is low carb, nutritious foods, I reach a saturation point with "cranwater"...but it is a good program.

"The Fat Flush Plan" by Ann Louise Gittleman. Read the book! It WILL change you life...whether it becomes your WOE, or you take something smaller from it; become aware of toxins and pollutants around you in your neck of the woods, "go organic", or just the CranWater or the LemonWater! I am hooked on the cranwater AND the lemonwater...cleared up the acne on my face!! I think it goes a few steps beyond Atkins. But before you post your thoughts about The Fat Flush, read the book-keeping your mind open just as you did when getting acquainted with Atkins, and THEN post!

How about all those 'offensive' reviews we've read about Atkins. Reviews by people who think THEY know what they're talking about...unsafe, unhealthy... they infuriate us low-carbbers, right?! I urge you, then, to read atleast the first 3 chapters. Don't be a basher like those diet reviewers AND those unknowledgable friends and family members of your's!!!

I bought my Fat Flush Plan book (hardcover) on Amazon.com

Detox? Yep, the plan itself is detoxifying. She also has a concentrated detox plan...it takes 7 days to prepare for and the next day is the 1 day detox! It's called The Fast Track One Day Detox Diet. And she also incorporates The Fat Flush Plan into the Perimenopause AND Menopause. She's definately Female-Friendly! Men don't know much about that!!

What appealed to me at first is the fact that I don't count carbs or calories.
