zone diet planning

for those of you on the zone diet.... do you need to follow the 40-30-30 to a T at every meal? Is it alright if the meals are 35-30-25 sometimes? or similar?

just curious really.

I just started the 40-30-30 plan, which I guess is the same as the Zone plan, and I'm sticking to it like glue!! I'm having great success with losing and not being hungry so I don't change a thing. My suggestion is to keep it the way it's supposed to be and then tweak it later.

1) Find your lean body mass
2) Determine your "Protein prescription", based on activity level and lean body mass.
3) Determine the number of calories/day, using 30%P, 30%F, 40%C.
4) Each meal and snack should fall into the 30/30/40 range, or as close as possible..
5) The Zone emphasizes lean protein, healthy (i.e non saturated, non hydrogenated) fats, getting most carbs from fruit and vegetables, and Omega 3 supplementation.

I'm doing BFFM, and it has different macro ratios depending on your carb sensitivity. I seem to do pretty well with a 40p/40c/20f mix.
