Eating out

Every once in a while I like to go out to eat which poses a problem.
At least at Golden Coral I think there Sour Cream and Butter is about
50% trans fatty acid and I shore don't want to eat that. Well do any
of you take your own salad dressing, butter and sour cream with you?
If you do do you have any hents how to do this without it looking really
strange ?

Do you have a Chipotle near you? They seem to have pretty good ingredients.

I also get take-out from the Whole Foods food bars.

I mostly just choose the restaurant carefully and make the best choices I can when I go out. I do live in the hippy dippy capital of the world, so I can get gf, organic, etc stuff at a lot of places. We even have a burger place that is all grass fed.

I don't know how strange it might look (nor do I care), but I use a very small Tupperware container for my salad dressings. OTOH, just having the salad undressed and using vinegar works also. Walden Farms has packets of salad dressing you can carry in your purse and the thousand island isn't too bad. Guess you just have to get used to using WF

You make a good point about the sour cream and butter. I would also suspect any oil that is offered as a dressing (vinagrette), probably not olive oil. Isn't the butter usually in a foil packet with a name on it?

I carry a tub of butter in my purse. And it stays in there for a week or two at a time. It's great as a dip for steamed broccoli and steak or chicken. I also have a baggie of sliced almonds in my purse. I'm looking for a tiny leak proof container for my virgin avocado oil. I have to trust the restaurant vinegar and always ask for oil and vinegar for my salad. We stick to the roadhouses .

Funny I always way over indulge with carbs at a mexican restaurant
and do a lot better at Golden Corral besides it's about 10 min. closer.

We went to Cracker Barrel a couple of days ago, and did ok. I had the roast, the tiny side salad with oil and vinegar and a couple of non-starchy vegetables. It worked out great as far as blood glucose goes.
