Any overweight whole food / natural food fanatics want to buddy up?

Hi there,

I am a newbie who has just joined Low Carb Friends today. After years of yo-yoing on various low carb diets (among others), it has suddenly dawned on me that I am most likely going to need to go low carb for life. A scary realisation, but I am determined to make it work! So the journey begins.

I am a 30 year old female who has 50+ pounds to lose. I am big into natural and whole foods. I tend to avoid dairy, gluten, sugar, caffeine, red meat and soy, 99% of the time.

Are there any fellow health food shop fanatics who would like to buddy up on low carb?? Would be great to exchange recipes, ingredient ideas and generally support each other. Hope to hear from someone!

Welcome
It sounds like your basic plan is paleo/primal, so you may find buddies on our forum for that type of plan:

lol Atkins done properly (as first described by Dr. Atkins in 1972) is based on whole foods/natural foods.

Primal/Paleo is all about whole foods...

And if nothing else, it's a whole lot easier to live LC when you're buying meat, produce, dairy (I'm counting eggs in this category, because that's where they are in the store), seeds, nuts, etc, and then cooking from scratch.

Seriously, I think that the more you start hanging out here on LCF, the more you'll see you're FAR from alone.

Just curious.... What's the reason for the red meat avoidance?
