threads that haven't been posted to in a long time have been purged to free up space and to make the site run faster.

Go to the bottom left of the page (not this post page, but this forum page) and make sure to change the default to "the beginning" and you can see all the posts.
As a default it only shows the last 2 days of threads that have been active, so they're there, you just have to look back more than 2 days
It should look like this:
