grinding whole flax seeds?

I bought a lot of whole flax seeds so I can grind them myself into a flower to make my bread. but when I try to grind them in my food processor, they didn't grind at all. They just spun and jumped and hid from the blades.

so I went to the store to get a spice or coffee grinder to fix this problem. all the coffee grinders I found were basically just smaller versions of my food processor. low horizontal blades that rotate in a circle. I need more of a grinder, like a pepper mill. Can anyone recommend where to get one?

Thanks!

I don't know about grinders, but my Magic Bullet works beautifully. You can get those at Walmart.

Those little coffee grinders work great for flax. Yes the blade is low and goes around but the area is small and the low blade is specifically for grinding.
I also have a bullet but coffee grinders are cheaper....even at thrift stores and garage sales for a couple bucks.

I have been able to use either the food processor, coffee grinder or Vita Mix to grind my flax seeds.

Yeah, my food processor didn't work at all for grinding flax seeds. But my blender works great!

I use my coffee grinder for golden flax seeds - I don't use it for coffe. It works great!
