Distilled Water and stalled weight loss
I made a huge mistake and have been drinking distilled water only for 23 days (100 oz). I found out today that not only is it acidic, but that my body will find the minerals by leaching my bones of them! Also, because it is acidic it leaches the plastic from the bottles faster than the spring water! I have changed water... but could it be possible that the high acid diet, and acidic water could be stalling my weight loss this week? Does anyone know about these things? I am on Stillmans at the moment (all organic eggs, meat and cottage cheese.

It's a big myth that distilled water leeches minerals from bones. Distilled water is actually the cleanest water you can get (better to have a house filtration system though than the bottles).
Distilled water isn't causing your stall, it's more likely that it is diet related. I know Stillman's is pretty restrictive and low cal, have you been eating more lately? |

nolcjunk; I have actually been eating right on plan. I am more stringent than most Stillman eaters in that I actually weigh my food and do not eat "all the protein I want". I can not tell you how right on and committed I am to this diet. I have only lost 1 lb all week. And I have never gone over the low cal restrictions. I have really been "on point" the entire time. That is why I am looking for answers. The first two weeks were great. Then this stall of over a week. And i also have been exercising. My endocrinology appt in LA is Sept 23rd. Its going to cost me 500 bucks plus traveling expenses. But I think I need to go to someone who can get my hormones and stuff functioning better. Stillman's is restrictive if you do it right. I personally, am an "all or nothing" type. And I am giving it my all. Any other thoughts regarding a stall?

Well, thank you for your input. I did switch to Spring Water for the mineral content anyhow.

I wish people updated their posts so we know what happened or how they got out of their stalls. I'm wondering if you're approaching low body fat numbers? I know the body will fight to stay away from too low body fat numbers. Like anything under 10%.

Don't drink Distilled water!
As a water plant operator this is my opinion:
There is a reason you only use distilled water for specific things. It is terrible for your body not only because of the acidic value but because there is nothing such as chlorine in it to keep it the disinfection properties in it that keep the water safe. Just my 2cents. |
