Fresh fish, naturally smoked, from way out there.
So we ran out of food so we went to one of our markets that opens thurs-sunday. Talked to them about my vitamin d issues and the need for real, live caught, gluten, msg, nitrate free fish. She gave me a sample and said the fisherman are just due back, three more weeks and I will have all I ever need. The purest and best fish, some smoked. It will be frozen already, no chance for fresh fresh.
So wish me luck...I am going to try smoked salmon for the first time tomorrow. |

Now, are you going to smoke it yourself? I'd like to see your process, if you don't mind. So I can copy it. I have an electric smoker that I would like to use to smoke salmon. Right now, a turkey is in there, roasting at 155F and I'll see how the texture is. It will be in there for about 12 hours.

Because of the bazillion drs. appts and scripts (they would not give me my money back on all of the ones I returned) my money for my smoker has been repurposed. I will be back with the adventures of stovetop smoking since I cannot do it outside. It will be a month or so. NO they are smoking it. This market is this one
Mill Valley General Store OMG I had half of the filet, just cold straight out of the fridge. It's so good, but very rich only half for now. WOW yumQ@@@@ |

Terez saying to herself, "I will not be jealous. I WILL not be jealous!" You really ought to have your own show on Youtube. Your subject matter is better than most people's.

OK I tried some Trader Joes smoked Salmon. TOO fishy. I ended up feeding it to the cats, my 20 yr old died (been too sick to really grieve about her loss but at least she isn't suffering anymore)but the neighbors cat adopted my five year old (who is doing amazing on raw btw) so I've been compensating for the loss with the neighbors kitten...It helps she is black and white too. They loved it.
I have to wait at least one more week for the good stuff. Weird thing the trader joes fish was not at all oily. I was sad, I loved the good stuff it was all oily. Love me some fattyness. |
