Changes for the New Year? :)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

This year I incorporated beef gelatin granules and a few more supplements into my food plan, with nice results. I have been faithful to my daily Callanetics and other exercises, also with nice benefits.

My plans going forward to enjoy more time outdoors, walk a bit more, smile in the sunshine, etc.

What are you planning to incorporate into you food and health plan?

YES TO THAT!
...and to keep at the muscle strengthening with my kettle bells!
They have been vital to my focus of staying strong as my 66+yrs look back at me in the mirror...
It has been said that you have to find the exercise that you LIKE to do so that you will enjoy it.
...so walking on the beach and kettle bells on the deck in the sunshine!

Hi, Galveston Gal! Your exercise outdoors sounds grand. I agree about finding exercise that one really enjoys. Callanetics have been that for me. I find them miraculous.

BTW, your cream cheese oopsie Danish rolls look super!

More fermented foods for me. I want to try homemade sauerkraut and have that something that I do all the time.

I am envious of you who can get outdoors in the sunshine at this time of year. I miss that! I still get out to walk the dog but those walks are much shorter and less pleasant. Maybe I will try some strength training.

I started some new things a couple of months ago that I just want to follow through and stick with. I joined a gym so I could add swimming to my exercise regime (I only ran before) and stumbled into strength training. I am enjoying the mix.

I am also swearing off severely restrictive diets. They just backfire on me. Slow and steady wins the race (and its not even a race).

I recently found out that one of those body fat measuring dunk tanks comes to town every three months starting in January. I think I'll go get measured so I can more accurately track my progress since I am trying to build muscle and lose fat, not just weigh less.

My goal is to tone up and add HIIT. I got some hand weights for Christmas and I need to come up with HIIT schedule I can do at home.

I've finally purchased some sessions with a trainer so I can figure out this exercise/gym thing.

I plan to MOVE more and work less hours so I have energy for other things.

I plan to get back to some creative outlets - beading and jewelry making.

I'm starting to make bone broths using grass-fed beef bones to up my minerals as naturally as I can.

Less time with technology (except for here, of course!).

I don't make any NY changes. I find it to be extremely bad luck for me.

I'm doing well, especially considering I've had a broken foot & have been wearing a big clunky boot since early in July. Once I am back to wearing two shoes that match I will be able to get back to power walking...but I might need to drop that & stick to bicycling for the cardio part of my exercise. Time will tell.

Nutrition is good. I'm still losing inches. I am a firm believer that, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. lol...

I love resolutions and goals because they motivate me to succeed. I have lost 30 pounds since last January and am easily maintaining it. This is the year to clean up my eating by preparing my own meals and eating at home. I recently started doing a resistance training program where you lift heavy with few repetitions. It is totally reshaping my body and toning everything up so I will stick to it this year.
