Pear-Shaped Figures

Hi, All.

I've always had a pear-shaped figure: small waist, large hips and thighs. I've never had much success losing from my hips and thighs. Once I had kids I started gaining visceral fat and my small waist disappeared, too.

In my 6 weeks on NK I've (so far) lost at least 3 inches off of my waist and am starting to see my old shape again. That's not terribly surprising as I know low-carb diets are touted as melting belly fat. But, I'm wondering if anyone who is shaped similarly has seen significant losses in their hips and thighs from this WOE.

I assume I'll always be pear-shaped, but would like to be a bit less so.

I am also pear shaped and also have more belly fat after babies and losing the most from my waist.

I don't really mind being pear shaped, I think it is attractive, and being a skater means my legs and but are always muscular and bigger.

I am curious to see what others say.

I'm pretty pear shaped too. I seem to have lost all over though. My hips and booty have shrunk quite a bit. I have lost a lot of belly too.

I am still curvy and always will be, but this time I seem to be losing more all over than just belly.

Me too. I gained more belly fat since menopause. But I can see it becoming less and less even when I am not losing pounds.

I'm a pear too but my experience with weightloss on LCHF is very different from the other diets I've tried before.

Usually, it takes forever to get rid of the belly fat and my butt but this time it was one of the first places I lost from. I've lost more face and hand fat but I think that was water retention.

Any loss is good loss. On Oprah once it was said that being pear shaped is healthier for your heart. Apple shape people carry more fat around their heart....making the heart work harder I guess?

I also have to say that my girls have not shrunk. I was never very big, but now I am larger. I had to go up to at least 1 whole cup size.
