-50!

Hello NK people,

Just celebrating this milestone today! I don't post much but I've been reading here almost daily since I started low carb again last July.

I had started the year before, just as I turned 49, with a mission to lose 50 by my 50th birthday. I started low carb, lost 10 pounds, but got derailed by holidays and never got back on plan, and regained 5 back.

Had my birthday, then about a month later on July 5th, it occurred to me that even though I hadn't made it by my birthday, that I could try for it again anyway. I suffered through the first week, then I found the concept of NK. This has made all the difference in the world! All these years of trying everything and failing, it was adding dietary fat that works for me.

I've been hovering around -47, - 48 since November, did pretty well over the holidays-did gain a few but got right back to it Jan 2nd. What's working right now is the bullet proof protocol someone posted about in this forum. So this is a long winded THANK YOU! to all of you who have helped so much !

I now realize that there won't be any big change, that this is my plan, if I want to stay slim and healthy. So I'm not going anywhere--I would like to lose about 5 more which will put me in the "normal" category of BMI. I know I will get there.

Also interesting to me is that I'm much slimmer at a higher weight following this plan. I fit into clothes that previously only fit when I was 20 pounds lighter than I am now-- needless to say I'm thrilled with that surprise!

Jo

Thanks! There are a couple of threads about the protocol that have been active lately. My interpretation these last days has been having a bulletproof coffee in the morning (coffee, coconut oil, butter blended in magic bullet ) then another around noon if I'm hungry. Then I have waited to eat ( late afternoon) something high in fat, I've used my fat fast cookbook for ideas. It's only been a few days but it finally broke me into a new low :-)

Way to go!

Celebrate with a massive chocolate oopsie roll slathered in whipped cream. Sounds like this plan really works for you. I'm hoping to follow suit - I did the low protein day he recommends on Tuesday, and lost about 2.5 lbs. over the next few days. It seems like Dave's found the secret to keeping the fat burning off. Did you know he's lost 100 lbs. himself?
