Day 10, 12 lbs down, loving this!

Hey congratulate me--not only have I stuck with a diet the longest time ever (sad I know) but I lost 12 lbs too!

Because my first drop in weight was 8 lbs suddenly on day 4 (and I shifted from feeling cruddy on day 3 to feeling awesome with no cravings on day 4) I think that must have been the loss of water weight--so I'm guessing the 4 subsequent lbs are all fat baby riiiight? Or do I misunderstand the science?

I've been doing great. 20-30 carbs a day, varying my calories, definitely mostly fat around 70-75% every day.

Today, day 10, was the first day I woke up with a metallic taste in my mouth and seriously no endurance to even push a stroller.

Any comments, support, encouragement anything? I wish I had a friend doing this with me side by side to compare--but I don't so I'm so thankful to be able to post here!! Thanks!!

Congrats! How's your water and salt intake?
Being in NK, I've read that one needs 5,000 mg of sodium daily.

Maybe the weak feelings are just part of the adaptation process.

Well done!!! That's a great start.
Make sure you drink plenty of water. It helps with the "Keto flu"

It's been really high. I've been making a point to make sure I get lots of sodium. I'm not tracking it but I've been eating sunflower seeds and other things like that regularly.

Idk, I read on some body builder forum that it's hard to build muscle in ketosis so they do carb ups or whatever bc they have low endurance. I have no muscle to speak of (well you know, minimal couch potato muscle) so I was wondering if that had anything to do with it. idk

I would say, just keep things the same. It takes time to be fully keto adapted and a period of feeling kind of weak is not unusual.

Body building is an pretty different game compared to the average n.k. person. While there is a lot we can learn from that community, it is not going to be the same for us. The transition is felt as a bit of weakness but it shouldn't last long and once you are there, you should experience renewed energy. Just keep to plan.
