Just post how many days from now you have been on plan without deviation, it can be anything carbs/cals/exercise, just total up how many days you have been 100% and post it!

We're not christians but my husband loves it so we do LOL! Welcome aboard, what are the targets you are trying to stick to? Mine are 30g carbs a day and no more than 1400 calories.

I am at around 2000 calories, no more than 20. Net carbs, 80 grams protein, and the rest is fat. I have been back on plan for 13 days now. The longer I do this, the easier it gets. I'm currently trying to come up with a LC dressing for thanksgiving because that's the only thing that I can't imagine not eating. I am doing a LC pumpkin bake, Brussels sprouts, turkey, and salad for the rest of my thanksgiving meal. I don't want to go off plan because I've hit my stride.

Whoohoo you we'll do it! Lucky we don't have any family here or we'd be drowned in fried goods during diwali as well as sweets My husband cooks xmas dinner so i've asked for a lowcarb because we are away the next day and i'd like to enjoy our mini break.

Good for you, i fell off for three weeks but am back on it and am counting this as the first day. I always seem to get stuck around this weight so i need to really be focused to get under 11st.

Lucky i haven't had to cook for any special occasions, i'd be stumped, we moved from the uk to kuwait so the shops sometimes have a limited range, mostly its all there, but small salad packs are nigh on impossible and because everything's imported we got through patches where they run out of stuff. I bulk buy almond milk!

Hey Sheened. I was down 2.5 pound this morning! Woo hoo!! I also found a great recipe this morning for LC cornbread to make my cornbread dressing for thanksgiving. I am very happy about that as its the one thing I truly don't think I could live without on the big day. How are you doing? I am on day 14 on plan.

Thats fantastic!! Well done!! You must be so happy
A new low is brilliant, I'm so glad it's working out so well for you! I'm on day 7 of my re-start so ze weigh in is tomorrow, i'll let you know how it goes!

And cornbread, I'm afraid I've never tried it but it looks really good, what did you use? I'm looking for a potato replacement, i wasn't keen on the cauliflower mash so i'm trying radishes, not bad, i par boiled and then roasted them. I think they could do with more flavour but on the whole happy with that. Also bang on target with carb count which I 'm pleased about, i sometimes get caught out by veg.

Again whoo hoo go you!

I can't imagine thanksgiving without cornbread dressing. I am using popcorn meal and almond flour to make it. You out chicken stock, onions, celery, and sage in it, or at least that's now my mom always made it. Some people put eggs, sausage, all kinds of things in it.
As far as cauliflower mashed potatoes goes, I am not crazy about them either. For some reason they always give me a stomachache. Not crazy about radishes or turnips either. I usually just stick with a nice, crispy vegetable with my protein. If I'm really in the mood for something different I will make one of Linda Sues recipes.

Drumroll..... I'm down to 11st 3.6lbs from 11st 8.8lbs so 5.2lbs yaaay, thats the weight I was before my 3 week carb binge!! Yes its probably all water but i'm happy enough, anything to get me over that 11st hump!

I really want to try almond flour but we can't get it here i'll pick some up next time i'm home, we only just had the revolution wittch is almond milk! Yeah i'm trying to branch out but to be honest i got flummoxed by the difference between a swede and a turnip, they aren't labelled and they look the same to me! They haven't figured much in my diet before so its an experience!! I love radish, but usually indian people use daikon a lot in salads and pickles! I boiled and roasted it but to be honest i think it could do with something, so i'll boil in veg stock next time, see if it helps!I love butternut squash but too many carbs, which is utterly unfortunate, i can easily eat one the size of my head all by myself.

I tend to stirfry mine, soooo easy, i've managed to track down some 5 spice which is brilliant! I just forgot yo buy it . I've seen the linda due recipes and they look good, keep meaning to try something from there. I'm new to low carb (previous short lived attempt at atkins) so the online resources are really helpful!

Average carbs this week were 21g a day so will try to get it under the 20g and more water this week is a must, i keep waking up feeling dehydrated.

I bounced up a bit to 205.5 but I expected it since I was down so low yesterday. I usually do a bounce back up when I lose over 2 pounds on the scale. Do you count your calories and protein or do you just count carbs?

I count protein and carbs and monitor my calories. The fat seems to take care of itself and i always end up over 70%. I calorie counted for a while and it got me out of obesity so i do continue to do that but I'm not militant about it. Today i ended up at 1800, was a bit arrrghh about it because its a bit out of the ball park for me but after posting on the main lowcarb forum i've decided its not a big deal. If i'm hungry i eat if i'm not i dont.

I'll take the challenge. I'm at day 18 of eating right (had a really rocky October) and my weight is finally moving downwards again. Last year I fell off the wagon during the office Christmas party and didn't get back on again for a week. My goal is to get down to 190 by the end of the year, and I started at 197 on Nov. first. I'm at 195.8 this morning...slow progress, but at least it's progress.

I came up with a really great recipe last year for "cornbread" stuffing, using a flaxbread focaccia instead of the cornbread. The flavor is pretty close to my mom's stuffing, and I love it! Oh, and it's 1.2 net carbs per serving, so enjoy!

Hi kate, welcome on board! The more the merrier! However you do LCHF and whatever your goals i hope you achieve them! I'm sorry you had a tough october but well done for getting back on track! I know its tough, i started out calorie counting last year at 190lbs which worked but i noticed even then i was eating a lot of my cals in fat so i figured in for a penny in for a pound. But loads of stops and starts, main thing i'm lighter than I was a year ago so even if it takes time thats fine we'll get there. Congratulations on your loss!

I have had a slight falling off the wagon, but I'm making a real effort to be back in plan today.

I'm in! (and this is my very first post!)

I'd like to join the challenge. I've been low carbing since October 28th and I've lost (only) 8 pounds. I had a pre-planned cheat day hoping that it would "jolt" my system into losing again. It didn't work. I'm back to "on plan" and willing to commit to the challenge. I was hoping to get down to 200 lb by the end of the year, but that seems to be in question now. But alas! My point in all of this is that I'm in!

Have you stalled out a little bit? I find if i go overboard wi one thing or another and get straight back on plan it takes two to three days to see any changes.

Merrykate and cfine how are you guys getting on? Cfine having a better day today? I'm with you there, drinking my water getting my mojo back (it never left but it went for a *** break for a while yesterday)

But I'm back and already in NK according to blood ketones. Hovering arounf .7 to .9

Lol you are absolutely welcome, drop by whenever you want! I know about the cravings, i had one day this week where nothing seemed to satisfy me but its fallen off a cliff. When i was calorie counting I managed ok but would get quite hungry sometimes and this would lead to ice cream on the whole it worked but with a bit more difficulty than low carbing, i actually get to feel full which is frankly amazing.

Checking in on the X-mas Challenge

Hi all!

I've decided that my commitment for the X-mas challenge will be to eat on plan (mostly Atkins Induction 20-25 carbs) and I am pledging my complete transparency until the challenge is finished.

That being said, I have planned to cheat either on Thanksgiving Day or the day after to binge on a box (or two) of Girl Scout cookies. Every year I buy a case of Samoas. I've been giving many of the boxes away at work, but I've saved two (or three) boxes for myself for my cheat day.

Words cannot express to you how big it would be for me to make it through the Thanksgiving holiday and not partake of the cookies. But I don't see the strength within me just now. Hopefully, it will come.

T25 work out with Shaun T

Hey!

I forgot to mention that I just received my T25 workout CDs. I'm going to check out the discs on tomorrow and may even change my challenge to include this workout.

For those who don't know, the T25 workout and the Insanity workout were both created by Shaun T. The T25 workout is tailored more towards the 40 and over group. I tried the Insanity workout and it was, well...for lack of a better word...insane.

I'll let you know.

I was doing well, but last night I had a minor relapse. I usually quit eating at 8 p.m. and don't start until noon the next day, but the peanut butter and kavli crackers started calling my name at 10 p.m. and like an idiot I had one...which turned into two...which turned into 5! I don't know what it is about peanut butter that sets me off, but I wound up at 62 total carbs for the day. Back on plan today, and stuck to it pretty well, so that's something.

Same here! Am going to post my weekly weigh in and average carbs and cals! Totally went overboard one day this week with evil carbs!

I'm going away for a few days after xmas and i plan to go off plan. Fact is i like food, my husband and i have already found a restaurant that we want to go to! I know a lot of people are mortified sbout going off plan temporarily but i'm ok with it.

Yay cookies! To be honest you sound like you know what you are doing, its not like you are tumbling off the wagon, its better to plan something you are going to enjoy. My xmas challenge is kinda about earning my post xmas break!

When we go home in jan to visit our family we'll be spending a few days at my in laws, they are strict veggies for religious reasons so i'm going to have to eat what they prepare, plus i love and respect them very much and my diet would make them feel very uncomfortable so i wouldn't even think of trying to bring a sausage into the house!

Insanity sounds bloody scary to me! Haven't heard of the t25 workout, let me know how it goes! It would great to commit exercise time too!

I'm supposed to start jillian michaels 30 day shred on sunday, my anxiety is through the roof. I was doing it a while ago and you get results but i'm really not a fan of exercise, i do it (when i manage) because i want a toned body. I really admire people who develop a love of exercise, i'm going to develop a more positive attitude about it!

Go lexy!!!
