Quest bars

Hi guys,

Any thoughts on quest bars? Do you use them? Have they had any negative effects for you? Any feedback would be much appreciated!

I have a few on hand as emergency meal replacements. They have too many total carbs for me to eat them recreationally. The last time I ate one was early August.

Thanks misti, yeah i was thinking that too, i don't tend to be convinced by the net carb thing in food i haven't cooked myself. Even before NK i tend to cook from scratch so a little. It suspicious. I just checked on amazon and some people say quest bars elevate their blood sugar. Something to be wary of methinks.

Ok, i tried one, not good, taste isn't great and i got a rapid heartbeat shortly after, insulin surge? I don't think they are for me!

I'm not too crazy about them either, but someone mentioned that they melt them a bit in the microwave bad said they were really good this way. I need to try it.

Yes, they do taste much better microwaved for about 10 seconds.

Funny, same topic came up on another forum I was visiting:

this is what I said

I actually did an experiment with Quest protein bars checking my blood sugars periodically afterwards... and was surprised that it actually bumped me to the 140-150 range. This was pretty consistent across all flavors. When I brought it up to their customer service they gave me a refund.

Something to keep in mind. It's not consistent across everyone, but there are enough people out there with this effect that if you google it, you'll find some results.

Bff i had a look yesterday and you're right, loads of people had problems with it, some don't experience difficulty, i'm not a diabetic but its making me think i should go see my doc!!

I tried it in the microwave but i blasted it for 20 secs lol, never mind tried it at least and i bought two so not such a waste, they are $3.5 dollars each where i live! I'll test the other one on my husband, see what happens to him!
