CLA

Does anyone here take CLA.

I heard it was good to promote fat loss, but I have become a little skeptical of late.

It is derived from safflower seed oil.

I take 3g per day.

Anyone experience this, any advantage to taking it?
Or should I just take more fat from diet in?

I tried it years ago. It didn't do anything for me at all.

Getting your numbers/ratios right would probably help better than CLA, which is also quite an expensive supplement!

^^Same here. Did nothing for me. And I also agree that getting the proper grams of macros is what is going to make the most difference.

I take it. But it says to take for at least 60 days (or longer) for best results. I just figure it can't hurt, right? But, I haven't noticed it helping any thing, yet...

I took it for a while earlier this year after reading an article by Dr. Jeff Volek advocating CLA for fat loss. He stated that studies have shown that taking CLA can lead to a 4-5 lb. body fat loss over the course of a year without any other dietary changes. I know that's slow loss, but I see it as additional to the loss that comes from NK. I can't afford to buy it right now, but I probably will once I have an income again.

Hmm, I hear that CLA in grass fed meat, that has been fed grass right up to time of slaughter is best, but 90% of grass fed meat is fatted up with corn before slaughter.

I got a bottle of 270 gels of 1,000mg really cheap, so I will just use it till it runs out. Then buy MCT oil and use that.

Cla made me bruise. Also , synthetic cla can raise blood glucose levels but on a NK woe not sure if that would apply since you aren't eating in a way that causes an insulin response.

I tried it and it didnt do a thing for me. It was expensive and not worth it. I am always things that it helps with fat loss and i wish it would have. I cant afford to keep buying something to have to wait 2 months to see results...lol
I'm way too impatient. I figure i will just worry about diet for now.
I know one thing. Since going back low carb and eating higher fat, my skin is clearing up very nicely!! I am loving that. I havent stayed strict NK but i have been back eating pretty low carb for a couple months now. I think getting away from nightshades really helped.
