Well my diet experiment was going well until the weekend hit. I ate out a couple of times but the meals looked a lot like what I had been eating (salad, lots of dressing, not much meat. What was the difference? The demon alcohol! My official weigh-in is not until Wednesday, so maybe the scale will be back down by then. Note to self: vodka is not an NK-friendly food for me!

Ok, on to today's meals:
B: lettuce, cucumber, olives, turkey lunch meat (2 oz), about 3 T mayo
L: broccoli, turkey lunch meat (2 oz), about 3 T mayo
S: 2 pieces bacon
D: chicken and veggies with butter
S: broth with coconut oil

AnnetteW 09-30-2013 11:56 AM

B - coffee/HWC (about 1/4 c)
S - cheddar cheese and almonds
L - chicken thigh, leg, wing (rotisserie, yummy)
S - ?
D - salad, dressing, stew meat

Dinner ended up being 4 oz chicken breast baked with butter and almond flour breading, broccoli and butter, small green salad with oil and vinegar. The chicken was a little higher in protein than I thought. Will have to do 3 oz next time.

MerryKate 10-01-2013 12:29 AM

B: bpc
L: omelette with cheese, tomatoes, peppers, sausage and flax bread
S: coffee, cheese
D: chicken breast, LC zucchini bread with SF whipped cream cheese frosting
S: cheese

Overdid it on the cheese today. I got sidetracked by work and forgot to eat until nearly 2 p.m. (aside from the BPC). That seems to have thrown me off for the rest of the day. :/

Simple - 30% sour cream with a drop of vanilla and a few drops of liquid sucralose.

ncbookseller 10-04-2013 08:12 AM

B: leftover fish w/cheddar topping, roasted brussels sprouts and cauliflower
L: roast beef lunch meat over lettuce + cucumber
S: celery + salt
D: burger + salad + maybe some coleslaw if I have time

BAD NEWS: Not losing weight. Weigh-ins continue to disappoint. The scant 1 1/2 lb loss of last week was obliterated in a day. The next day (today), same. It looks like low carb, low protein, high fat has no mystical properties.

GOOD NEWS: Maintenance levels achieved? I do like how I feel with the controlled protein and added veggies. The protein portions have been slipping upwards the past few days, but not unlimited - probably around 100g a day. It seems like this is the maintenance way of eating that I've been looking for. Of course, what I really wanted is a weight-loss plan, but maintenance is a valuable skill, too!

I'm thinking that if I'm a fat-burner, then what about intermittent periods of low fat diet to force my body to burn the only fat available (body fat), then back on keto? Maybe 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off? Has anyone here tried intermittent low fat or PSMF or Lyle MacDonald's Rapid Fat Loss? If you have, I would love to hear your experiences.

Thanks! I've never heard of 30% sour cream, but I'll definitely try the full fat sour cream that I've got at home.

I've wondered this myself. I keep failing on NK~ gain. I'm giving the Fat Fast a try now. I did do Dukan in the past that resulted in a quick 10lb loss over 2 weeks but unsustainable, hair loss, rotten breath, dry skin.

I baked A package of thick sliced bacon for the first time yesterday and ate the whole thing throughout the day. Expected to see a weight gain this morning, but I am down 1/2 lb. Surprised!

Can someone enlighten me on what a paleo wrap is?

Punkin 10-06-2013 09:18 AM

I'm doing a lot of experimental baking today so my menu is a bit strange:

B-3 x PPC
Low carb brownies

Snack: coconut milk

Lunch: Peanut butter cream pie
(1/2 pie or maybe a whole one depending how hungry I am)

Snack: Low carb carrot cake

Dinner: Steak salad with homemade ranch dressing

Snack: Coffee gelatine with nut butter and heavy cream sauce.

Beverages: Tea and coffee, carbonated water and coconut milk. I usually froth butter and coconut oil in my coffee and tea.

You can make your own. Egg, coconut flour, olive oil and water. Google for the recipe amounts.
