I do 5 small meals of around 200 calories. Here's what I plan to eat Monday:

#1 2 cups of coffee, each with 2T HWC and sweetened with Splenda.

#2 4oz mushrooms sautéed in 1T coconut oil and 1T butter.

#3 1oz pecans taken from a batch toasted with coconut oil and butter.

#4 2 cups romaine lettuce w/2T Ken's Steakhouse Buttermilk Dressing

#5 Chocolate Almond Instant 'Pudding'

I use a lot of recipes from Dana Carpenter's Fat Fast Cookbook.

Hi Colamalu,
How did your first day go yesterday? Were you able to stay on plan? What was your menu like?

I stayed on track yesterday and felt great. My blood glucose was 84 this AM, I love when it's that low, it means I'm doing something right.

Everything is just fine. Just busier than I had planned, and resorted to food on the go that I shouldn't have. Back on board today! My weigh in is 174.6 and my breakfast is 2 cups of coffee, each with 2T HWC. Meal two will be romaine lettuce w/2T buttermilk ranch dressing, Meal three will be 4oz mushrooms sautéed in 2T butter, and dinner is meal 4 an 5 combined - 4 jalapenos stuffed with a total of 3 oz cream cheese and each pepper is wrapped in bacon. Have a great day!

April04 09-18-2013 07:10 AM

Oh Yum! Those peppers sound fantastic! A friends made those for me this summer and did mixed cheese inside of the pepper, shredded cheese and cream cheese, delicious!

I can relate to the busy schedule, but it sounds like you're organized and ready for a great start today.

My kids activities are in full force this week, so we're on the go from 8 AM-7:30 PM. I'm trying to make up a shopping list now so that I'm more prepared then I was yesterday. Once I finish my shopping list and my menu, I'll post later today.

Hi April,

Wow! You will be on the go today! My two boys are only in preschool, and I can't believe how busy I am. I can't imagine what it will be like when they are older!

Looking forward to seeing what your menu is for today!

Take care!

At the risk of tooting my own horn, I lOVE that stuff! By the way, I just found out that a paperback version of the book has just come out.

Hi Ann

Does it help to eliminate dairy? I'm watching your success...

Dinner was a last minute switch to 2 oz ground beef, I'll have the deviled eggs tomorrow.
Final:
83%/14%/3%

Hoping for a woosh tomorrow!

Rebecca: Toot Away, it's a great resource! I have to get the paperback version, there are so many great recipes! I love making notes in my cookbooks!

Jenna,
Thanks for the cheers :)

I didn't want to have to get rid of dairy, it was more of a last resort. But, I'm not entirely dairy free, I'll eat it in a pinch. I found that when I included dairy at too many meals I would get swelling in my abdomen, things wouldn't go smoothly, and I would stall.

It's a little challenging keeping the fat numbers high without my HWC, sour cream, etc But, with a little mayo, OO, and CO, I try and keep them up!

How do you do with dairy? Have you had luck with fat fasts?

Why do you call this a fat fast if you are eating things with carbs and protein?

April04 09-19-2013 03:51 AM

Good Morning Colamalu,
We're you able to stay on track yesterday with your menu? It sounded great! I remember the preschool days, and they were so much fun! I hope your boys are enjoying getting back to school.

I'm looking forward to Friday night when the pace slows down around here and the girls and I can cuddle on the couch and watch a movie. Until then we're on the go and meal planning is essential.

I'll write more on my menu later today. I hope you have a great day. And, I was thanking you this AM with my whoosh, thanks for initiating this FF! It has gotten me back on track.

I hope you have a great day!

Hi EW,
I think FF was a term from Atkins and I'm trying to follow his guidelines for a FF. Although, I'm not always exactly on track, I do my best stay within the FF macros.

I see how the term could be misleading, but I try to keep it at 1000 calories and 90% fat.

colamalu 09-19-2013 06:31 AM

Good Morning, Ann (sorry I have been calling you April)!

Wow! Nice numbers on the scale! I love whooshes!

I was able to stick to my plan yesterday, and I am feeling great!

Have a great day!

I don't know what a 'fat fast' is but it sounds like you'd be fasting fat ... as in eating zero fat!?

It is the opposite. It is where you eat pretty much ONLY fat for a few days.

Kind of like a juice fast is where you drink only juice.

I am not supposed to give out the recipes, because they are in a published book with two other authors.

It is available at Amazon as an ebook and a paperback, and it is called Fat Fast Cookbook.
