Hey, that is one bullet proof smoothie! I had a protein shake for breakfast too. I love the texture that the chia seeds give to smoothies. Good stuff.

Me three! I got sidetracked and forgot to eat lunch, so I had to grab a cardboard double cheeseburger sans bun at McDonald's, but they kinda forgot to heat it. Seriously, how hard is it to microwave a burger?

It's been raining all day, so when I found a recipe for a low-carb "Cream of Wheat" I gave that a try for dinner (really good recipe!). 14 grams of fiber in one meal...tomorrow morning could be interesting.

I had a weird eating day. I had a bunless McD's Double Quarter Pounder for brunch, and two sockeye salmon filets pan-seared in butter and olive oil. A large Diet Coke and not enough water.

Very weird.

Because it's still ingrained in me that I need vegetables and such. It looks unbalanced. I'm also not a meal skipper but I'm trying not to eat if I'm not hungry. I did get hungry at around 8 PM (but we were out dancing) and I ate a few pieces of cheese and a very small amount of macadamias when I got home.

My blood ketones were 2.9 this morning, my highest yet. Go figure.

Today I'm skipping breakfast (coffee w/ cream though) since I'm meeting friends for lunch at 11 and I will enjoy my food and since it's a brewery, my carbs today are going to be a beer. So I'm choosing not to eat any other carbs today, or very little at least, maybe a salad for dinner.

Annette, thanks for the salad ingredients.

I eat some plant matter for the micronutrients. Dr. Richard Bernstein writes in his book, The Diabetes Solution, that the plants are vital for the micronutrients, and perhaps for some that have not yet been discovered. I can alternate days, having some with plant matter, and some without,-- but after a couple of days with no plant matter, I find I miss something, perhaps minerals, enzymes, and such.

Today for me:

Marrow broth and fat mixed w/ black and pu-erh teas, w/ hh.

Eggs and cheddar cheese, w/ garlic chives and black pepper, and a dash of hot sauce, braised in marrow broth and fat.

Roast beef and mixed seaweeds in marrow broth and fat.

Yoghurt, and more fatty broth

Best wishes to all for happy VLCing.

I had these ginger soy wings for brunch, and I'm having pan-seared sockeye salmon filet with green beans for dinner. Tea and lots of water.

For breakfast this morning I had 3T HWC w/coffee, 2 eggs w/1T HWC scrambled in 1T butter, topped with 2T sour cream and 2T cheddar cheese.

Lunch will be avocado cakes (1/2 avocado, 1T cornmeal, fried in 1/2T evoo) and a cheese quesadilla (small low carb tortilla and 1/4 cup cheese, cooked in 1/2T evoo) w/2T sour cream.

Dinner is buffalo wings w/lots of celery and blue cheese dressing.

I am combing JUDD and NK. Finding it hard to find 2000 calories worth of NK food a day! May have to make some fat bombs!

My day was very low carb because I knew I was having a carby meal for dinner - guests coming, so we had chicken enchiladas. The low-carb tortilla was worth it...that's one of my favorite meals.

B: BPC, thin-sliced turkey with whipped cream cheese
L: green salad with tomatoes, cheese & egg, ranch dressing
S: 2 cheese sticks
D: chicken enchiladas, green salad with oil & vinegar dressing
ES: brie, 2 SF dove chocolates and 1 TB coconut butter

Hi, all!

My menu these days is a rotation of:

rst beef or liver and a bit of cooked greens or green onions/chives

eggs in bone broth and pastured butter, and a bit of cooked greens

cheese and butter

3-4 ounces homemade yogurt, made from cream/hh

---

I have the meat for the first or second meal, and the cheese and butter or yoghurt last in the day. Occasionally, I'll eat the eggs last.

Am hovering around 50gPRO these days, which is nice. Carbs stay 20-30-ish and fat at least 120, usually 130 or even up to 150.

Black and pu-erh teas early in the day, with a bit of pastured hh, and pastured butter, and bone broth. Sometimes with a bit of good sea salt.

Protein amount at a meal, ca. two ounces of meat, or a smidgen less, 1-2 eggs, 1-2 ounces of cheese.
---

Am staying with in the 10-12% protein, and trying to keep 85-90% fat. (I noticed that the Wilder keto proportions of P + C at 1 and F at 4 x (P+C) is very similar to Dr. Kwasniewski's ratios.)

The very small protein amounts per meal, using pastured meats, cream, and only Kerrygold butter has made my food plan nicer. Buying better quality foods has made a nice difference in feeling good.

Oh, and the CLO and bone broth every day makes it all fit together nicely.

Hope you all are enjoying your keto menus.

Stawalke, what's in your fat bombs?

After my last post, I got off the too-much-food track, and am back to my usual mode of ca. 50g PRO, 90-110 FAT, ca. 25 CHO.

Have gone over completely to pastured butter and cream, and am happy to say that I feel better. The Organic Valley hh is milk and cream, and the cream has no additives or thickeners. (I called the company to ask about that.)

Today's food:

Black tea w/ Org. Valley hh

Egg yolks, bone broth and fat, pastured butter, and wild salmon, 1 T. freshly picked green onions
repeat of above
yoghurt

Best wishes to all.

Hi Kate- Does the HWC cause any gain for you? I have been gaining around my middle and wondering if it the daily HWC in my coffee.

Jennafun, I find that whenever I stay off the hwc that I lose weight. I am currently using Organic Valley hh. The cream in it does not have carrageenan or other additives.

HWC seems to be a trigger food for me. Might not be if I had pastured, raw, cream. I don't have access to that, so, for now, I'm taking a break from the hwc.

Today's food:

tea w/ pastured butter and a pinch of salt
2 pickled hb's w/ Kerrygold butter
1 1/4 oz. roast beef, and broth and 1 T. collard greens w/ black pepper and butter
2 1/2 oz. homemade yoghurt (hh)
2 egg yolks and butter w/ black pepper

Totals today will probably be P 43: F 100-110: C 15-20

Best wishes to all.

Thanks AuntieEm. I had just added HWC to my plan last week so maybe that explains the gain. I'm going to try the HH instead. I was starting to suspect butter but I will try this first as you seem to do ok with butter on your plan. Thanks again for your input

I just checked the OV labels in my frig. The whipping cream has carrageenan but you are right the half and half does not. What does that additive do? the serving size for half and half is two tablespoons and one tablespoon for the cream. It appears that the carb count is not appeciably different. I really wish I knew the fractions for both . . . doesn anyone know?

I'm just going to try the HH vs HWC and see what happens. I'll let you know...

Did an eggs/meat fast today to get this belly weight off (I usually only gain in my lower body - total pear - my waist has always been pretty small so I'm horrified that I have increased 2 inches there from NK.

BF- Coffee, 1/2 splenda, HH 1tbsp, MCT oil 1tsp
L- Bacon 4 pieces, 3 egg yolks, coffee black
D- 3 egg yolks, 4 applegate chicken sausage, decaf tea, HH 1tsp

Lots of walking and internet searching about diet plans. I would hate to go back to Dukan...

Down 2lbs today. I may be intolerant to HWC so going to stay the course with the HH. Continuing on meat/ egg today.

Just started new plan (yesterday)

Hi All,

I just started a new Dr. Rosedale-style plan yesterday. I'm hoping I can measure or eyeball protein only and not count fat or carbs as I found that paying attention to too many macros was not working for me.

Food today is similar to yesterday:
B: 2 eggs, coconut oil, mixed leftover napa cabbage and zucchini
S: handful mixed nuts
L: fresh spinach, 4 T oil, 1 T lemon juice, 6 green olives, 1/2 cucumber, can tuna
D: 3 oz (4 oz raw) ground beef for burger, salad similar to lunch but without tuna, broccoli with kerrygold
S: mug of ham-flavored Better Than Bouillon broth with 1 T coconut oil
