My first day. I got 3 regular beef tacos from Taco Bell and ate the insides and threw away the shells. Anyone know how many carbs I had for lunch?

Not familiar with their menu....was there cheese...beans...?
Do they have a menu that says how many?
Many of the fast foods have that info available if you ask.
Can't remember having been to a Taco Bell.

According to sbar's link, the full taco has 17 grams each. They don't break down the gram by taco parts. I googled a soft taco shell and come up with 15, so that's most of it. There was shredded cheese on top and I pushed most of it off... so I think I'm safe in saying I consumed about 2 grams per taco... or 6 altogether.

Interesting that by eating the insides (less the cheese) I cut the carbs from 51 to 6 and the calories from 570 to 270.

We're cooking dinner now. We're having what we call "blackass chicken" for dinner. Take a really large chicken breast, preheat the grill to max, and put it on the bony side down for about 30 minutes... or until it's completely black on the underside. Meat comes of tasty, moist, and tender. We love it. A little squash and zucchini on the side. Time to eat!

That chicken sounds good - it's still too cold up here in NY for much outside cooking!

I have had several days of this kind of thing recently, so I may need to start tracking in a calculator again so I don't under-eat

I messed up on my first day. I'm going to have to be more careful to check things. There were no carbs in my chicken, but I used BBQ sauce and found out today it has 7 carbs per teaspoon! I had no idea. Also, my squash and zucchini should have been heavier on the zucchini and lighter on the squash. Squash is not much of a low carb vegetable. Anyway, I ended up with 34 grams for the day and I was shooting for 20 or less.

Today I've had a liter of water and 2 cubs of coffee. Trying to decide on lunch.

This week's menu:
L: 9 chicken basil and cheese meatballs with boiled spinach
D: Homemade moo shu pork 4 servings (1.6 lbs pork shoulder/belly meat + 4 eggs+ 12oz wood ears).
Snacks: bone broth + macadamia nuts..

I find there's less "fat" from the main dishes but luckily macadamia nuts cover it
The carb count for the week is high with 20 though...
