I do best on as low carb, under 20 as possible.

The same with exercise, if I do, I get more hungry and eat more and then I feel like I have to exercise more and the cycle repeats. I don't do cardio anymore, only some toning for arms and legs a bit. It just feels wrong to say don't exercise, so I don't share this with people, but it does work this way for me.

Today I had hot wings and seltzer water. So far so good.
Exercise does that to me also. I did a lot of housework today, and I definitely was much more hungry. I feel like I have been snacking all day. I still kept it very low carb and added in more protein and fat.

It's not unique but rather the natural state to get more hungry from exercise. Which is why it's such a lousy way to lose weight. It's great for general health and muscle toning, but cutting down your fat comes down to your diet.

Hmm...I am new to this site. I'm easing over from Atkins and liking what I read. What I'm most surprised at is...how little you all eat! On the Atkins site, I'm constantly bombarded with "you must eat 1400-1800 calories," and when I'm eating high fat, I have no appetite! I am amazed when I hit over 1000. Is it ok to stay low on calories?

betterthannever - Welcome. 1000 calories is too low. I'm surprised with the high fat that you're able to stay at 1000 calories. I'm between 1400-1500 calories on NK and I suspect that based on your target weight, you will will be right around 1500.

The volume is a bit startling, but the objective is nutrient-rich food, of which fat and protein are dense.

I would suggest to start with this threads: Just the Facts, Ma'am

Then, query up "keto ankerl", put your stats in the calculator to determine what your macros should be.

Then, sit down and plug these macros into a food tracker and start simulating what a day would look like - and this involves careful measuring and documenting.

Psssst...Nothing tastes as good as ketosis feels!

I would cut out some of the vegetables that you eat and add in fat to get more calories. You don't want to eat too few calories or your body will rebel.

i finished making meals for next four days since i usually get home around 8pm after gym+work and the last thing i wanna do is cook.
Breakfast: 1 boiled egg
Lunch: 1 baked Chicken thigh with bok choy + tableside avocado
Dinner: ~175gram pork shoulder cubes with store bought braised pork sauce and watercress.

The big carb here is the sauce with 16 grams BUT it is split into 4 meals so it is not so bad... Friday isn't really a "cheat" day more of a going with coworkers for lunch and have time to cook at night day...

I just discovered seasoned, fried chicken skin. I found it in the asian food section at my grocery store and after attempting to look it up online I've figured out it's filipino. It's so good! So much better than pork rinds. Unfortunately, I can't find a nutrition breakdown, so I don't really know how many calories and protein grams it has. Anyone familiar with this?

It's probably exactly the same as pork rinds - mostly fat, moderate protein.

the only difference would be if it were meat (muscle) instead of skin.

very good for you, prolly lots of collagen

today: BPC for breakfast. Lunch was some wraps made with failed batch of maria's sub bread with some feta, sour cream, and mayo dip(one with cuke, smoked turkey, cream cheese, other with avocado, dill havarti, smoked turkey) couple of almonds to cleanse my palate.
dinner.. either leftover rack of lamb or shepherd's pie. had an iced coffee with heavy cream for some extra caffeine at work.

I just discovered Carolina Gold Nuggets Pork Puffies (microwave pork rinds) - these have been my go-to breakfast instead of bacon for awhile - really good, hot out of the oven. Great macros, though a little heavy on the protein, which makes them pretty filling. I add an ounce of cream cheese to bring the fat up. Good! Otherwise I have a planned lunch at Red Robin - lettuce wrapped burger, and grilling something for supper.

EASTER!

ham, kielbasa, hard boiled eggs, asparagus, cabbage.

Used Dixie Diner's all purpose low carb flour to make hot cross buns on friday. They tasted like the pizza hut cinnamon breadsticks.

Made Holiday Jello Salad - LowCarbFriends Recipes yesterday with vitamin water zero in place of pineapple juice ( couldn't find packed in water and didn't want so much fructose) and some canteloupe, celery, sliced blanced almonds, and ....SUGAR FREE PEEPS! We shall see how it is.
