What's BPC?

MMM STEAK. I love sauerkraut.. polish food has all the right stuff to satisfy low-carbers, (mm pickles and cheese and cabbage and pork!) I only ever miss the potatos...

I've been wondering about shirataki noodles - I want to try miracle rice to go with some black soy beans and cajun shrimp I'm going to make, but I keep wimping out because of mixed product reviews. Any advice/experiences to share?

Last night I ate entirely too many peanuts and too much kale (half a 9 oz package... whoops) my net carbs went to 45 cause of it. Something about those two foods... I cannot stop!

Light breakfast today.

slice of thinslim foods cinnamon toast with LOL spread on half, and la nouba SF chocolate hazelnut spread on the other half.

snack, 2.5 oz celery with simply marzetti blue cheese dressing. coffee with heavy cream.

lunch, remainder of kale (argh!) with parmesan and pine nuts. leftover roasted chicken thigh (baked with orange zest and old bay! so delicious.) and chorizo.

not sure about dinner yet. Going to an indoor cycling class first. meatloaf sandwich on great low carb bread probably.

BPC is bulletproof coffee... Really good, and I am somewhat of a fan...

I like all kinds of shirataki noodles, but the texture is certainly not something everbody can get used to. I drain them and then rinse well, then add to a dry frying pan and heat up. Then I add whatever I want to the noodles and serve up... The ones yesterday in the steak cooking juices/fat were to die for!!!

My menu today:

B: BPC
L: BPC with added whey protein
D: smoked mackerel, with maybe saurkraut on the side, the rest is to be decided when I get home from work, I have no idea what is in the fridge!

Cathy, every time you post your menu and it involves an oopsie, it reminds me that I should make some! I keep forgetting, and they are so great! Your oopsie sandwiches sound yummy!

I think they are a great option to put all that good stuff on! I'm making these and Maria Emmerich's keto bread to compare and see which I like better... Will report back once I get round to making them! In the meantime, I'll imagine what yours taste like, LOL!

Oh, I've made pseudo-BPC before! I just squirt some liquid coconut oil in the bottom of my mug before nuking my yesterday-coffee. I'm lazy about my blender and hate taking it apart to clean it. I usually put heavy cream in after, too.

I'm not picky about texture in foods so Shirataki should be fine with me. However, I got rid of all my nonstick pans recently... so I wonder if I can still fry-dry my shirataki with a bit of oil or ghee.

today: I was hungry all morning. spin class last night...

Breakfast: ounce of canteloupe, ounce of proscuitto, salami, and cappicola. ounce of mixed sliced cheeses.

morning snack: greek salad with butter lettuce, olives, cucumber, artichoke hearts, sprinkle of parmesan, lemon squeeze, and some Trader Joe's feta style dressing.

morning snack 2: hard boiled egg, remainder of dressing.

lunch: mama lupe's low carb tortilla with cream cheese, cucumbers, and 2oz applegate smoked turkey breast as a roll-up.

some pot roast for din din.. maybe some LC chocolate as later snack. Our microwave broke... T_T

Love mackerel.

Emita, I don't use a non stick pan either. I just dry fry the shirataki's in my well seasoned stainless steel frying pan. They stick a bit, but when you add whatever sauce you intend to use, the problem is solved!

My menu today:

B: BPC
L: not sure if it's BPC with whey protein or a small portion of sardines. Depends on hormones, TOM is about to come...
D: ground mixed pork/beef. Something like saurkraut or lots of herbs. Some cheese.

I'm boring with my food at the moment, but work and my fitness regime is taking up time, so I'm eating basics and saving my real menu cooking for weekends.

I don't think anyone should non-stick pans. They were created to help the low fat fad and I think just on principal they should be tossed into the dump. (joking). Really, they eventually wear away and I would rather not consume anymore teflon than I already have. I mostly use a well seasoned iron pan but shirataki don't stick to stainless steel either. They are pretty weird!!

bpc x 2
paleo muffin with bacon, cheese and egg
ham steak with a side of brussel sprouts cooked with a bit of bacon and finished with a splash of balsamic vinegar

Breakfast: Half a highly successful, single-serve experimental version of buttoni's fluffy CQ biscuit with homemade sausage gravy, a scrambled egg, an extra sausage link, and some sugar free maple syrup.. MMM.

AM Snack: too many (like a cup) haricots verts dipped in ranch dressing mixed with sour cream.

Lunch: homemade meatloaf with flax meal/coconut flour binder as a sandwich on thinslim foods bread (2g net carbs) topped with good american cheese and westbrae ketchup. Glass of LC milk.

so full. 1000 delicious calories already. :gonk:

thanks for the information on pans - yeah I am terrified of nonstick coatings and aluminum, I aim to only use glass, ceramic, wood, stainless and cast iron. I have some cast iron pans but they're either really old and not well seasoned anymore, or pre-seasoned and new. I don't want to smoke up my oven seasoning them, so I got some camp chef seasoning goop that seems to work OK. (mixture of oils)

tons of snow... had an oz of canteloupe with some salami and coppa and cheese for breakfast, and then half a LC dinner roll for fiber.

Barely made it to work! Hungry now, ate a homemade spinach salad with red onion, baby spinach, 1/2oz raw walnuts, and 1/4 oz crumbled gorgonzola. Made a raspberry vinaigrette with smucker's SF raspberry preserves, evoo, and red wine vinegar/salt,pepper.

Made a new friend this weekend who is celiac.

Was inspired to make some GF biscuits using almond meal and coconut flour instead of carbquik.

Biscuit, gravy, thick sliced bacon, scrambled egg. 400 calories but only 1.5 net carbs!

same spinach walnut gorgonzola raspberry salad for lunch and some almonds.

Second day at induction level carbs to make up for wine and some hidden sugar in the homemade chinese food I had at a party saturday night (probablyvery little, just things cured in sugar & salt, but the strawberries I ate tasted like they had been macerating in sugar, too...)

Today is a higher food amount day, am going to the gym for some heavy lifting, so I'll probably crave protein after!

The courgette hummus worked out to be fabulous! Almost couldn't tell it from the regular stuff!

My menu today:

B: nothing
L: sardines, saurkraut, nori flakes, feta cheese, vinaigrette dressing
D: not sure, probably keto bread slices with something nice on top! Either smoked salmon or rillettes or some nice cheese... Or maybe three different ones with all three options...

I've been struggling lately to get my macros right. Too much protein usually.
The scale is creeping up again as well.
The DH and I finished off the hamburger cheese casserole I made; I'm starting to think that dairy should be off limits for me, which sucks, because I totally love dairy.

b: bpc, 2 eggs fried in butter, 1 rasher bacon
l: sloppy joe, courgette
d: more sloppy joe, courgette
sn: fat bomb (coconut oil, butter, unsweetened cocoa, 1/2 tsp splenda), 1 tbl almond butter

Looking at my macros, I might try putting a tbl of coconut oil in my lemon & ginger tea at some point today. I think that would be a good combination.

All this has me at 15 carbs, 10 net, proper amount of fat, a little under the protein goal, but still well within range of appropriate.

Now if only I can stick to it!!!

brekkie: remaining part of my paleo biscuit (totally binged on it and PB last night) scrambled egg, some chicken gravy, bits of ham and cheddar.

made a carbquik pot pie batter for leftover braised chicken thighs w/ mushrooms and broccoli for work lunch tomorrow. ate bits of that and the cream filling as I cooked them >_>;

Snowed in today, workout will be shoveling.

@kwerp: are you aiming for percentages of intake for your protein/fat/carb ratio? I usually end up 10-12% carb, 18-25 prot, and 60-70 fat. Wondering if this matters more than other factors.

I usually don't pay too much attention to percentages, though it's usually around 6-9 carbs, 66-70 fat, and the balance protein.
I'm trying to keep total carbs under 20-25, protein under 81.
