Ideal Ketone Levels?

What should they be at throughout the day ideally to remain in "NK"?

I measured mine at 18.00 before I ate at 0.9 but after making a bit of a mess up and eating an Indian mixed grill (with no extras) it has fallen to 0.2 which I assume is due to there perhaps being sugar in the marinade?

Re check in the morning. Morning should be above 0.5. I don't test during the day or after meals.

Thanks, it's only 0.1 today but I think that's due to risking a take away so I'll give it a couple of days and yes again.

Remember that it takes time to become fully adapated and that means that you can be out of range (below .5) despite eating within your parameters and if you think you ate outside of that, then it may take more than a few days to become fully adapted and get consistently good readings.

Right. Well I read an article that recommended fasting so I did that for one day and measured my ketones in the morning before eating and was pleased to see they had risen to 0.9. I felt great for the last two days but today I woke up feeling lightheaded and weak again. I testing my ketones when I got home from work today and they were a rather pathetic 0.4 again.

Just for the record my blood sugar remains between 3.6 - 4.00 everytime I've tested, even after eating so I doubt I've put myself out of ketosis from eating too many carbs.

So what on earth is going on?

It sounds like you are not fully keto-adapted yet. Are you getting enough salt?

Well I'm having one to two bullions a day with a pinch of Celtic sea salt in, plus I'm heavily salting all my food. I've not actually measured how much I'm using though. In contrast my boyfriend feels great on this diet and doesn't take any supplements or extra salt, I must be unlucky.
