Seeking Tips for Travel
Hello All. I am on week three of a NK plan. So far, I am happy with the results. I have had good success, first with Atkins and later, Protein Power plans in the past. Sadly, I fell back into dumb eating habits and I need to get back on track.
I have a 5 day business meeting coming up. I will need to fly to the meeting, and if I have any fridge space available in the hotel room, I will consider myself very lucky. Meals will not be served, and my expense allowance is very low.
I think I can fit a small jar of CO into my checked luggage, and some nuts, but I need to limit nuts, as they throw off my readings (holding steady at about .9 on the blood test, first thing in the morning). I can also throw some cheese and protein powder in the bag.
Can anyone please help me think of what I can bring, and eat, while away. In the past I have found options so limited, I end up being hungry the whole time.
First, I make a "cooler" with plastic bags I bring from home and ice from the hotel. I bring some things with me on the plane in a bag with ice. The ice has to be dumped prior to security, but the flight attendant will give you ice when you board the plane. Bring a few zip-locks.
Second, most hotels have access to microwaves in the lobby. Call and ask before you leave.
cream cheese- take out of foil wrapper
packets of mayo and mustard, you may be able to get some at the airport
hard boiled eggs
If the airport has a McD, I will buy 2 quarter pounders and put them on ice for later.
