NK symptoms?

do the symptoms of being in NK wear off after some time? I have been on low carb (bar one weekend in march, that took two weeks to recover from) since Aug 2012, negative symptoms I have had on the way so far have been very smelly arm pits, distinct urine smell and the most common one being a metalic taste in my throat but lately I have had no symptoms at all, like today, yet I just tested myself with blood ketone strip and it said 3.7.

Does this mean once ones body is fat adapted the negative symptoms go away...

just thinking out aloud?

Yes, it happened to me as well, metallic taste and smelly urine seem to be gone. I believe it's a result of our bodies are becoming more efficient at using the ketones instead of releasing them. The fact that your ketone reading was at 3.7 means you're in ketosis at a high gear.

Have you lowered protein at all? I've read that too much protein can cause keto breath, body odor, and even a rash. It may depend also on how well one's kidneys function - there is more ammonia in the bloodstream when protein is high and your kidneys have to filter all that.

Actually increased my protein intake (7 grams) and the symptoms decreased. My ketone levels did drop a bit, but my fat % has dropped. I did it to try to maintain my LBM as I'm losing fat, which is a tall order.
